Getting steadily more and more impressed with Cara Gee as Drummer.
Jeff Craig I wasn’t super sold on her at first but she freaking KILLED it this season. Her scenes were so captivating to watch. My mind is blown seeing how cheery and bubbly Cara Gee is in real life.
And that is why she got that series regular promotion
@@lombax316 well the character is actually pretty important in the books but she doesnt show up till like book 4 I think. Here they introduced her early in season 2 so we could grow with the character
@@ndo533 Same could be said about Marcos this season or Anna in 3A. On the flip side, they extended the lifespan of Ashford. My earlier comment was jokingly referring to how certain characters are deemed main cast for the show while others are still supporting players despite their importance. Case in point, Shed Garvey was given top billing while Prax Meng has not.

I would have never guessed that is the actress playing Drummer. I like her character even more now that I see the contrast. I really believed she had to have a thick accent, but it's all acting chops!

I was looking at Cara Gee and jus scratching my head, like who is this chick? I couldnt figure it out. Then it hit me. Shes sooo different from Drummer its uncanny. I had the same reaction the first time I saw Emilia Clarke as a brunette. I had no idea who she was lol..she looks so diff without her platinum blonde hair

Cas Anvar Looks like 100% authentic in the series he seems like he's always method acting.
He also perfectly embodies Alex as he's in the later books, pretty much the glue that keeps the family together.

He posts behind the scenes stuff all the time, and it's really just like Alex vlogging.
Did you notice their body language? How they all lean in into each other's space? Great chemistry. They really seem to like eachother.
As I said, the acting crew of this series is almost mythical. Who hired all these talents? It's absurd how this crew made chemistry with each other.
I love hearing Frankie sounding Kiwi. Most Kiwi actors end up having to do other accents, and she’s got a lovely voice.

Drummer's ability to create a unique accent for her Belter background is quite amazing its not like she's copying an accent she knows it's very unique before this video I was somehow sure English was not her first language and clearly I was wrong lol
I think Jared Harris pulled off the Belter Creole most convincingly (as Anderson Dawes), but Cara Gee's performance as Drummer is definitely a close second!

It depends on the nature of that fascination, but... you may have submissive traits and are drawn to those who are strong, loyal and protective. Something about them likely makes you feel protected.
Amos is one thicc juicy man, one of the reasons why I love this show so much
and I, i would follow people like that everywhere .... very strong caracters, which partly explains the success of this series.
So that's what Cara Gee really sounds like. What a transformation.

give anyone the life his character has lead, and they would be that guy. known many veterans that became bikers because its the only family that understood them. they will keep their lips zipped and hand on a weapon, and be as true and honest with you as you are with them. Wes is my favorite, also, hes got a major pair being a Navy veteran and in that time he was a FireFighter, i mean, those things burn, blow up and sink, and not usually in convenient places. Cara G is a tiny thing, great stage actress, and when she suits up for her time on the show she slips into a character that has seen the weakness pushed into the smallest place it would go and stand on it. never let the crew see you weak, never let the enemy taste your blood, never turn your back on a hungry or angry crew, be fair and never tell the crew they dont matter. its a lot like the most successful privateers during the age of sale held their people together and gained success.

That's one of my favorite relationships on the show. They work it out in season 3,and they make a great team in season 4. Next would be Amos and Prax tied with Amos and Alex. Then i'd have to say Bobbie and Avasarahla.

wow in a million of years I wouldn't connect Drummer with Cara Gee. I recently discovered this amazing series and fall in love with Drummer character. The strength, independence, codex, voice, facial expressions all just perfect. Now seeing actress for the first time outside her role and blimey how gifted she is! seems nothing like Drummer. I hope she will continue her carrier with such a gift to deliver her character!
Shohrah is another revelation to me, ever since her first scene in the Expanse Avasarala grew on me. Her charm is surreal. I hope Drummer and Avasarala will have their drinking scene at the end of the show. Two top character and one of best sci fi characters ever
Drummer has become my favorite character on this show. I use to think she was too rigid. As her character developed, she is not only logical ,she is loyal. She loves more fiercely than I thought. She has to make the hard decisions people try to avoid. And she accepts the consequences of her actions.

Having the authors involved with the show so intimately really helps. Cibola Burns is a transitory stage in the series, setting up what's coming. Also, in the books, a lot of character development occurs, which is why it is a good time to bring the backstories of the characters. They really care about handling the difference between print and visual, and have balanced that extremely well.
Extremely well is exactly right. To me Cibola Burn is probably the weakest of the books, but they made it into (IMO) the best season so far. The way they're drawing on and foreshadowing events to come in the next books is just perfect, and even most of the changes they've made from the source material, I find to have been for the better.
@@tokeeriksen2425 Dude, I agree with you so much! I loathed reading Cibola Burn so much that I stopped reading Expanse. After binging this season, I finally went back to Book5[I had read the initial bits] cuz of all the foreshadowing and doing away with the awful parts of Book4.

Camina Drummer is no doubt one of the fan favorites. Thank you Cara Gee, you really set the bar and were the living embodiment of the spirit of Beltalowda. The speech Camina gives to the crew of the Behemoth before they entered the ring was on the level of President Whitmore's speech in Independence Day.

This video is one of the reasons why this show is so great. The way the actors interact with one another shows a real chemistry and bond they have. Sure that can be acted, but when it's genuine it makes for some really compelling character development.

I'd love to know if Shohreh cusses as much as Avasarala. Man, that character still surprises an "Oh my!" out of me, even after five seasons!
I would also like to know how much Thomas Jane resembles Miller, because I was extremely impressed with his acting chops. Come on, the guy outwitted genius sharks and wore The Punisher well, I'd love to see the real life guy.
Finally, there is NO way that Amos came from Baltimore with that Georgia accent!
After watching this i have a lot more respect for Cara Gee, What an actor to pull that change off. The others arnt pushing themselves 1 tenth as far away from their reality. Literally nothing of her true self is in her character it's 100% acting
Kinda felt bad for Cas. I really liked him as Alex. Hes kinda of a character who always plays an important role but is underappreciated (mainly because hes just too good at what he does and what he does is important but not the most important). But I suppose we live in 21st century and allegations must be taken seriously and investigated as required. But again the Roci crew didn't seem to mourn his death much at the end of Season 5 which is quite disappointing. I mean he might not be the best human being but he deserved an honorable farewell from the crew.
I understand why he had to go that it was a difficult situation, but I wish they could spend more time planning and move most of his farewell to the next season instead of putting it in afterwards. Such a shame because the character was great.

Just found this series a month a go and loved it! I binged through all the seasons in no time. Great writing, direction, sets, and wonderful actors. I’m so impressed with all of them. I have no favorite character. But the clothes Shoreh wears in every scene are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking! And I’m an average guy who doesn’t normally notice that sort of thing. Imho this is the best Sci-fi series since Star Trek. I hope this show is around for awhile.
When I first saw the first season of this series, I never would have thought how exceptional the story and the characters would be. And these actors deserve every possible reward for their performance. I hope this series will last again and again and for a long time. Thanks for the show !
Wow was not expecting Cara to be so bubbly, excitable and cheerful. Got led astray by her acting then. And drummers voice is remarkable.

To be fair to Frankie, 'blunty' isn't really a word i have ever heard used either and i was also confused. The word is blunt. She explained what she meant, everyone got it, it's all good but if blunty is in the dictionary i'll eat Miller's hat.

Amos is my favourite by far. At the start of the season 1 I was think what a plonk but he is great and the guy who acts as him does a great job. And the rest of them the original 4 I love them all and i feel as long as I live this I'll watch time and again

Has any of the cast ever received an Emmy nomination? IMO the “we are the belt” speech by Drummer was one of the most powerful ever.
the problem is that Science Fiction is CONTINUALLY/CONTINUOUSLY looked down on as "not serious work", in the same way Fantasy is. I mean Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, and other from the Star Trek mythos? They were never given serious consideration.. SciFI can win Hugos and Nebulas, but gets left out of Emmys and Oscars.
@@ZakhadWOW Agree 100%. Production values and plot development are on par with Game of Thrones (160 nominations). Maybe not as big of a budget for the award campaign season though.
