This is the most impressive display of comedy, intelligence, masochism, self-restraint, and professionalism I've ever seen. Conan broke the engine of the show.
@@MM-ud1xfbasically the whole video. I’m pretty bewildered by the fact that he didn’t just lay down and scream in agony after rubbing all those hot sauce on his face.
Conan's unhinged speech about how there's comedy everywhere and how we should look high and look low is honestly one of the most motivational and beautiful things I've heard in a while.
That's sad af. Look how pathetically small you've made your world, that you miss it all to the point that, amidst the free access to the global cultural renaissance in your pocket, your peak inspiration is a conan obrien monologue. You clearly have access to the internet. Feel free to use it.
“What are you guna read? Read widely and read well. There’s comedy in the Old Testament. There’s comedy in the New Testament. You can read all kids of stuff. Just don’t lock yourself into, ‘It’s gotta be some kind of comedy from the last ten years.’ No! There’s great comedy out there. It was written a long time ago. What’s funnier than Don Quixote, Sancho Panza? You know, this is good stuff. The classics are funny, you know? Read Chaucer’s tales, they’re funny. There’s funny everywhere, don’t be a snob-look high and look low. Mad magazine is funny. There’s funny stuff online all the time. There’s no reason for us to exclude one category over another.”
I absolutely love Conan.. I've been watching him since 93--94. One of my first jobs was the overnight shift at Walmart unloading tractor trailers.. our first break of the shift was when Late night would come on and I would always make sure I got to the break room first and put the TV on Conan to catch the monolog.. It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that "in the year 2000" was so long ago way before the year 2000! Now here we are in 2024 almost 2025.. I am still a huge fan and watch everything that is put out.. Conan has been one of the most significant highlights of entertainment before the term "text message" or "selfie" was even a thought.. I hope he is here for many years to come!!!
For a guest to completely turn an episode upside down, in a good way, for a show that has been running for so many years, he must be a legend. And Conan is indeed the legend.
@@johndawson6057 It would be awe-inspiring to see Conan O'Brien doing serious interview to some really controversial person like tRump. Similar case was Sir David Frost interviewing former US-president Richard Nixon. Conan could repeat that kind of grilling.
"That's not what showbusiness is about. Showbusiness is about putting on the greatest show in the world" is honestly an incredible quote. Especially given by a man who is dousing himself in hot sauce whilse saying it, just to entertain people.
When Conan compliments Sean's interviewing skills, man. Such high praise(and deserved, Sean is great) from someone who has worked as a talk show host for so long. I can imagine Sean got goosebumps in that moment. Probably my favorite Hot Ones episode.
A lot of guests compliment Sean on his interviewing, but I feel like Conan's compliment was the most sincere/genuine I've seen. He really wanted Sean to feel good with that one.
Conan screaming "IM FINE!!! IM FINE!!!" while drooling like a baby, covered in about a billion scovilles all over his face has to go down in hot ones history lol
I was planning on binging some more Hot Ones episodes tonight, but after that masterpiece of a episode, I don’t think I can. It’s just not gunna get any better than that. This is the new gold standard for Hot Ones guests. How can someone possibly top that?
Conan is just so quick witted. When Sean said he had tears in his eyes from the hot wing and Conan instantly quipped back that it's actually because he's meeting his idol, it's like he didn't even have to think about a response. It was just so natural.
He's used that joke before when people get stunned or shocked, but it's still funny. Also like when the other person is trying to help him pronounce a word, then Conan keeps repeating it, then makes it look like *he's* trying to teach the other person how to say it correctly lol.
Jokes aside, I found his spice-induced rant about looking high and low for comedy to be quite genuine and shows how much love he has for the whole artform.
He says it drenched in hot sauce all over his face and shirt and hes holding his speech really well after eating so much spice and i cant help but both laugh but hold a lot of respect for that speech.
@@talkingtakotaco8611 The best thing is, nobody can call him a hypocrite because Conan says this while proving his point. He's doing comedy while explaining how to entertain. An ironic loop.

All those years hosting late night he must’ve had to plaster on a smile through some insane BS. Not that this was child’s play, but the dude is carved out of wood.
You can tell it was affecting him cause his antics were escalating with each wing. It was like fuel for his energy level. He probably ran through a wall after this interview.
Oh, it's a bit. Conan is answering all the questions in a serious while dedicating himself to seeming unbothered by the wings while dying physically. It's food absurdism. @@CaptainPanick
Rarely do i leave comments, but this is my absolute favorite episode! Conan has always been hilarious in my eyes, and this solidifies his comedic genius.
Yep-Conan's performance when interviewed for 'In The Actor's Studio' was VERY similar-but with WATER, strangely. He just kept drinking jug after jug of it. The man is an ox!
It's hilarious comparing this absolutely chaotic interview to the calm, collected, and intelligent one he did on his wife's podcast. Dude is so ridiculously dynamic.
I can just hear Sona laughing in the background loving every minute that he's torturing himself for this perfect iconic moment because she knows he wouldn't have it any other way. 😂
Conan said sweet things, but... Him FULLY committing to this show with all the energy and passion he could muster is the highest praise he could have given Sean. It's the ultimate sign of respect in improv comedy.
Conan O'Brien and Craig Ferguson are the only REAL talk-show host that deserve all of the credits for building such a great universe for people all other the world! You got to love them for their REAL AND HONEST way of doing this for so long!
I mean look, I've been a Conan fan for 30ish years at this point so I went in with high hopes but SWEET JESUS, MARY, AND JOSEPH - the man brought a human comedy prop, was completely present the whole time, and basked in everything about Hot Ones. A truly incredible and iconic performance.
Dude has spent so much time doing to comedy in the wake of real pain on camera, that he'll commit to ANYTHING at this point. This episode is an entertainment tour de force.
@matteoar he actually did another interview after this. Conan said he had missed a spot when he washed his hands, and hot sauce was under his wedding ring. His finger had a burning sensation while he did the other interview.
I still remember his monolog on that last show about not giving up. "I hate cynicism - it’s my least favorite quality and it doesn’t lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you’re kind, amazing things will happen. As proof, let’s make an amazing thing happen right now." - Conan
My second time watching this interview, and realizing that Conan really did something clever here. He spent the whole interview telling us how to be a good showman WHILE showing us exactly what he meant in the way he kept entertaining I wonder if he had this all planned out
Conan is a legend. One of the best talk show host and comedian there ever was. A loyal, humble, good, irish, immature, childlike, goes into character whenever he doesn't want to face reality, people's person. God bless him.
The way he was waving the hot sauce around like a gun, while foaming at the mouth giving his big speech is absolutely comedy gold. What a legend, the best interview on this show, it goes down in history.
O'Brien advocating for reading classics like the Chauster tales while wildly gesticulating with a hot sauce bottle with spittle on his face and hot sauce rubbed on his shirt is not something I've expected to see tonight but I'm not complaining
This is by far the greatest episode of Hot Ones. The dude is showering his wing in Da Bomb sauce and still giving Sean a stitch in his side while simultaneously pulling off a great interview.

Idk how many times I’ve watched this since it’s been out😂 my favorite episode
Y'all throw around the word GOAT so much it no longer has the impact y'all think it does.
This is the most impressive display of comedy, intelligence, masochism, self-restraint, and professionalism I've ever seen. Conan broke the engine of the show.
Can you give me the time stamp for the self-restraint part?
@@MM-ud1xfbasically the whole video. I’m pretty bewildered by the fact that he didn’t just lay down and scream in agony after rubbing all those hot sauce on his face.

Conan's unhinged speech about how there's comedy everywhere and how we should look high and look low is honestly one of the most motivational and beautiful things I've heard in a while.
I though I was the only one touched by his speach. To live life to the fullest.
That's sad af. Look how pathetically small you've made your world, that you miss it all to the point that, amidst the free access to the global cultural renaissance in your pocket, your peak inspiration is a conan obrien monologue. You clearly have access to the internet. Feel free to use it.
If that's the most motivational thing you've heard as of 2024, I'm glad and you probably deserve it.
I watched that part like four times lol
True 👏👏
You should watch any Conan interview, he always dominates wherever he goes.
@@johndawson6057 It would be awe-inspiring to see Conan O'Brien doing serious interview to some really controversial person like tRump. Similar case was Sir David Frost interviewing former US-president Richard Nixon. Conan could repeat that kind of grilling.
Robin Williams is the only other comedian I can think of, that could take a show and turn it completely upside down. Conan is a genius.
“He’s not a good doctor. He’s an affordable doctor.”
This whole episode was just about perfect.
the end where the doctor breaks character "his temp went up 2 degrees no lie."

When Conan compliments Sean's interviewing skills, man. Such high praise(and deserved, Sean is great) from someone who has worked as a talk show host for so long. I can imagine Sean got goosebumps in that moment.
Probably my favorite Hot Ones episode.
The first Man to disrespect Da Bomb and lived to tell the tale. LEGEND!!!😂

Complete and utter disrespect. If i were da bomb, i'd be questioning if i am even really as hot as people say i am lol hahahahaha
He feels no pain
A lot of guests compliment Sean on his interviewing, but I feel like Conan's compliment was the most sincere/genuine I've seen. He really wanted Sean to feel good with that one.
He even told him to not take it comedically
Most sincere and most relevant. That coming from a seasoned talk show veteran.
he did for Sean what Dave did for him
I was cringing watching him drink it. Love that crazy Conan😂
Conan is the most qualified person to give compliments on being a good interviewer.
Conan screaming "IM FINE!!! IM FINE!!!" while drooling like a baby, covered in about a billion scovilles all over his face has to go down in hot ones history lol

"You're a great interviewer."
Coming from Conan O'Brien, that's incredibly high praise.
It's a legit compliment though , the host is questions where very interesting for the audience and the guest

Conan is just so quick witted. When Sean said he had tears in his eyes from the hot wing and Conan instantly quipped back that it's actually because he's meeting his idol, it's like he didn't even have to think about a response. It was just so natural.
I was lukewarm on Conan until I saw this. But moments like that make me think "This guy is an absolute master of his craft".
He's used that joke before when people get stunned or shocked, but it's still funny. Also like when the other person is trying to help him pronounce a word, then Conan keeps repeating it, then makes it look like *he's* trying to teach the other person how to say it correctly lol.
