Fifteen years out.. caught a minor case and had to do a weekend waiting for bail court.. can not believe how bad the kids are at jailing.. no where i would want to go ever again.. I just couldn't believe i couldn't pet my dog.. go get a sandwich, have a smoke... whole fuckin two days shook me more than all the time i did as a young man.. stay the fuck out

The experiences are so set apart from normalcy that they might as well be alien.

I think a lot of the problems combat vets suffer from is due to missing the brotherhood. I guess prison is similar
Sam Dunn its due to murdering another person and witnessing it. the human mind isn't built for that. we have a conscience. and whether or not you think you're doing it for whatever side you're on.. if you're a good person who suffers emotional consequences by your actions, its going to haunt you.
PTSD is nothing new. it used to be called shell shock. they change the name for it, every 40 years or so. realizing you've been tricked into killing people you don't know, never met, that are probably just like you.. eats at you for your entire life. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. but.. its our responsibility to know war is bad and you don't fight for people who aren't on the battlefield with you. aka you don't fight staged wars to make the rich, richer. we don't get weapons contracts, treasure from world war II, or cheap labor. they do. the people who don't fight get what you fought for. fuck that and fuck war.

I remember my celly gave me some weed inside on my 21st birthday and every noise I heard I was paranoid asf! Even when we got locked in every time I heard someone yell out the window I though they was talking bout me haha after that I never smoked weed inside again

I kept obsessing that they were going to call me to drop and I was going to piss dirty and Jack off any chance of getting my first parole!! I was in prison in Michigan. They usually sentence people with a minimum and a maximum sentence. Like my first bit I got a 4-20 year sentence. Second bit was a 2-10yr. Your eligible to get out on parole after you do ur minimum. But if you get caught with weed or a knife or whatever. Alot of time's you get a 12 or 24 month flop!!! Which means your doing another year or 2 after ur minimum!!!! I was sooooo paranoid bro!!!! I never smoked again after that

I am 34 now, weed makes me super paranoid now. Smoked daily for like 10 years, no problem. When I hit 30 I started to get really negative when I was high. Like you said, it opens your eyes to stuff you wouldnt think of, but I still cant tell if its a good thing or a bad thing.
Could not even imagine smoking in a cell, that would push me over the edge.

I just recently watched all 5 seasons of "60 Days in"on A&E. Would love to see a video of your take and feelings about that show, and the program. Keep doin what your doin! I was a 'CO' in the UK and I reckon this St Louis was a CI (confidential informant). We would 'interview' our snitches using pretexts and this would explain why only big-hats were in that cell.

when u said u smoked bud and did the laugh like that… u took me rightt back man 🤣 - Have a very similar-like experience….it was during my last and longest bid of 3 years, having a 5 with a 3….
But anyways, in my first 4 months after being transferred down state (from NJ btw, and did all my state time {outside reception in CRAFT} in Annadale/Mountain View Facility) and at this point I was about a year into my sentence, cuz the first 8.5 months or so were in the county, as I worked my case from the inside…and I got in my first “fight” there (if you can call it that) down in the penitentiary - and got my a** whooped, Donkey Kong style, by 2 people, with a third man, the bigger of the bunch, locking in the corner per se to create smaller space/movement for me to adjust… and no “flex”, but I boxed my whole life and still got wrecked by the small jump..
which makes me want to digress for a second before I hit my funny point about smoking and my similar paranoia experience, CUZ I hate when people said they took on 2-3 people at once - no, no you didn’t.. unless it was outside prison and u had a LOT of room to maneuver around AND knew how to throw your hands properly coupled with a somewhat decent grappling background…. Cuz that crap is like fighting spiders all over u! (aka “its impossible”, unless u see it coming before hand while acting like u dont and quickly/swiftly get a lucky perfectly placed shot and knock out the first dude….which is like a 1% chance in a emotional/adrenaline filled out of no where-like state) and I been throwing my hands in the gym since I was a kid and made the golden glove regional circuit at 16 - none of that matters in prison when u got two to three men on you at once
But anyways, a day earlier before all this, I got moved to Shack house 8 because after 1, everyone gets moved in the first 90 days to 120 days depending on the floor,….and thus 2 hours before I got cornered and jumped, some low tier guy who helped run the house, told me that being here I had to give x y and z on every canteen day (which was every other Wednesday) and I said no, not me … and he said then u got to put your shoes on.. now already doing about a year at this point between jail and prison (and 2 earlier county stints), I obviously knew what that meant and I said fine..in fact I was glad inside because I looked at this punk in a good way and knew it would put a stop on me getting taxed (maybe)… so I played tough (but i did know deep inside I was going to do my thing or pull this guys card when I actually was ready) but while strapping up after taking off my flops, this dude walked away before I could even slip my first foot in… and I was like, uh? but then figured okay so they know im not going to bow down, and maybe that was that…. few hours later - bam - (I should have been smarter) while stirring ramen and watching a spade game it happened, and just like that before I could even register the whole ordeal, one was on my waist trying to drag me down and I was elbowing him hard while the other was teeing off on me and with one harm I was trying to grab that dudes arm to relieve that many shots coming at me, and I seen the Big dude crowding in and before u knew it, I was getting the brakes beaten off me, cuz at that point even the third guy was stomping on me from the short distance they angled me at…… well thats the long story …. I get locked, they all get locked - But while im in the B-Role cage, and the other guys are getting hemmed up, I see the dude I was elbowing as bloody as me, cuz i assume where I was elbowing him was the soft tissue above the eye which open ls easily..and eventually of course we all end up in the same lockdown compound after medical, plus, after injuctions they usually send us to Northern State Prison if its a lockdown exceeding 21 days…. but while staring out my cell, many hours later I noticed the kid that first talked to me WHO WAS NOT ONE OF THE THREE that jumped me (which is key to the paranoia that ensued days later) coming into the compound - also, I always thought this was weird but the big guy was not in there … who they called “Bird” , whichI found out later (but I could be wrong as well… he obviously had no marks on him and maybe he went in before us after statements, as three of us had to see medical first and maybe he was already in the compound… but for the one hour showers, which was one person at a time obviously, I still never saw him the entire 10 days)
But anyways, I got ten days, that was it, and they maybe went to Northern state because I only saw 2 of them much later on in the yard a few times (and of course eventually all three, but I rarely went to the yard until I hit the camps, cuz I played poker from sunrise to sundown)
NEVERTHELESS, this is the part that matters - that was just the context of my brutal paranoid-state that ensued - So just the second day in House 6, I was able to smoke with two other dudes, via next to one of the many units ventilators (there was over 100+ ppl per floor, so it was easy to do whatever at Annandale) …. and mannnnnn 15 mins in, I started bugging in my head, laid near my bunk and started thinking, yo that dude who first came to me, they maybe think I told on him…. and then I was like nah man chill, they obviously reviewed the tape.. yadayada and I went back n forth, back n forth and was STUPID PARANOID and was MISERABLE…. however, nothing ever came of it as obviously they would of been calling me a rat etc from the doors of the compound and thats why ur sober self is 99% of the time better cuz ur not going to “overthink” things - though it does put ur caution up, but it does it way too much…
but I smoked a lot at first while in the country joint…but NEVER AGAIN did I smoke in the penitentiary my entire bid (and that was my last bid, MashAllah) … it was a horrid 4 hours of rambling paranoia that of me thinking they all going to think I am a prison snitch, when I was not smh, All because that one freaking dude l(which I thought nothingggg of it at first while sober minded😂) but when I smoked it ALL CAME BACK TO ME….
These days I dont smoke drink, nothing… ever since I reverted to Islam… Alhamdulillah…. but ur face and that laugh u made had me dying cuz I know u were remembering how deep ur thoughts and it brought me right back to my dumb a** moment 😅 (because its not funny then, AT ALL, but its funny to look back on)…. and good stuff with the message at the end 🤲… Glamorizing crime and prison is for the birds… That is no way to live!

Biggest problem I saw in prison was being bored, thus leading to drama. And drama sales, big time. Hell a man will do almost anything in prison to keep his mind busy even if that means fighting, tattooing, getting high, clapping cheeks or making spreads. That's why it is so important to stay out of that place and doing the right thing on the outside.

Bro...you nailed it. Never been to jail but smoked my brains out growing up. Stopped smoking for years. Decided to smoke one day when I was with someone who was smoking. I felt like the matrix. I felt like I was looking through a different set of eye balls. It open my mind and eyes to things I never woulda saw sober. But it wasn’t a good feeling. It was a paranoia feeling. Overwhelming and I hated it. Had to leave the people I was with and where I was at. Immediately went home and went to sleep. It ruined it for me. Wasn’t like how I remembered. Idk if changed. The weed is way stronger. Or both.
