Bugs Bunny style! ( for those of a certain age ) 😉
@@jamestbrown6317 trust me man (coming from an 18 yr old) you're not that old yet
Yeah, it's kinda weird seeing it in a cutscene
Well, crow is a hunter. He has triple jump.
Crow's clearly still learning the ropes of being a Guardian, he didn't intentionally shatter his legs on the ground as he landed.
Exactly, tank the fall damage, go into slide, regen on your way to cover
which is weird because he does mention that Hunter training in the tower is mostly just Jumping and Shooting
i feel like Tactical Shin-Seppuku would be an early-intermediate class module
Yeah, everyone knows you can’t die from falling damage anymore, what a blueberry.
Just wait till Cayde tells him he’s technically Hunter Vanguard since he killed him. Crow will be floored. He’s only been a Guardian for a few years, after all.

Pretty much me. I got back into the game after not playing since forsaken and when I saw uldren I was super confused
I haven't played since shadowkeep and tbh it's not that crazy
Ngl, I've been playing since 2017 and I had a feeling that Cayde was going to come back eventually after my playthrough with forsaken.
@@Daaan2202 Welcome back! I started playing again yesterday after I stopped after Forsaken.
Destiny has changed alot but there's years of nostalgia. I hope it gets a new surge of popularity
Once i heard a quote saying that only the strong can forgive.
Crow had a hard time being forgiven for something he didn't do, but for Cayde it's already water under the bridge.
Well considering he shot at crow on sight I’d say it wasn’t quite forgiven, but he did have the resolve to chill out once he realized crow was a guardian
I also think he's not the revenging type
I mean he avenged Andal Brask but it was partly because of the dare
@@submachinegun5737Exactly, he's a guardian!! Yet some characters treated him as if he was the same person as before.
Also, i really want Crow to became the next Hunter Vanguard so Cayde can mock him for being in his place.
@@EdwynSMOrcEvery Hunter in history:
"i wouldn't like to be in your cloak buddy."
Cayde knows full well what its like becoming a guardian. He understood what it meant when Glint showed up. Also as a Hunter Vanguard, Cayde meant well for all Hunters
I'm torn whether Cayde should have been in the first TFS teaser or not, because this would have been an EPIC reveal for the end of the season if that was kept under wraps.
SAME!! It garnered a lot of hype for the expansion at first though, so maybe it was necessary to show it ahead of time (my gosh, the reveal was around a year ago 😳)
same still goes for forsaken and the final shape.
Imagine Cayde dying in the first episode, I would've lost it.
And more than half a decade later we'll see him here.
@@DarthLevicor yes but could you imagine if this was the first time we saw him again?!

Bungie needed the hype to have people preorder.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the UTTER MAGESTY of that tripmine grenade throw... Cayde had that beam square between Crow's eyes from behind a rock.
Funny is I dont think we heard or saw him throw it. Just like Last Stand, he might have affixed one there prior to this fight.
That would mean Cayde was scoping out the landing point for a potential hostile incursion, and trapped the place.
@@ryankoh917I’m not so sure, you kinda hear a bit of a kerthunk right before the tripmine arms itself at 0:52

The parallel of Cayde holding Crow at gunpoint the same way Uldren held Cayde at gunpoint, but then sparing him and immediately forgiving him is something I didn’t know I needed.
He didn't forgive
That isn't uldren anymore
@@joeyno137 Yup. What Joey said.
More so realized “Uldren” isn’t the same the same person anymore. That he was reborn as Crow and Uldren Sov is dead
He didnt forgive Uldren. When Cayde saw Uldren he tried to kill him on sight. He stopped only because he saw Glint and having a ghost means Uldren died and when a Ghost resurrects you for the first time you lose all your memories. Seeing Glint, Cayde sees Uldren is dead Crow is not Uldren. Cayde does not know Crow has all his memory from his past life thanks to Savathun but even with those memories he is not Uldren.
Fun fact, the whole cutscene is a nod to Cayde's last stand from Last Call. Cayde's abilities and the hand cannon reloads are in the same sequence as they were 6 years ago.
1:29 it was talked about during Season of the Witch that Ghosts can hear the Traveler screaming because of what the Witness is doing, sounds like this is it
What if that means that using the new Warlock exotic helmet, we can hear those screams!😳 That’d be unsettling…
Oh wow, good shout !
what really gets me is it sounds like the activation sound you hear in root of nightmares. or if i am getting my sounds mixed up, I have definitely heard that sound before and it makes me shudder when i hear it.

And you were giant, powerful and swift. But the knife pinned you. Cut your godly flesh away.
Very little was left, you are sure, because you feel insignificant now. The hard slick heart of your soul: That is what remains. A body small as a river stone, and just as simple. If only you could see yourself. But you have no eyes. Not the dimmest sense survives. What lives is memory, and what slim portion of these thoughts can you trust?
The knife stole much more than your body.

I love the hesitation and shock that crow showed when he realized it was cayde attacking him
Ill add in the understanding look from Cayde when he sees Glint and knows what that means. Also means someone DID get revenge for Cayde's death, he just at that point wont know if it was Petra that offed him or if it was us (This season it was confirmed by Crow, Petra was the one to kill him).
@@vismortis It was both petra and the player that shot him
Yeah and he did wish that he could apologize to Cayde for what he did, that wish came true thanks to Riven. Thing is, Cayde already got over it after seeing Glint.

Bungie's wasted potential for the past 10 years. 20 if you include Halo.

The fact that you can see things like when Uldren does the back-roll, that's the backward gambler's dodge. The fact they thought to include something as simple as that is the attention to detail I love

This was the most peak cutscene I’ve seen in a while for Destiny. Especially that people are actually in combat but that’s not a bad thing.
Yeah, last time they did a stellar cutscene like this was in Season of the Seraph.
As soon as I heard the familiar sounds of Ace of Spades firing, I had the biggest smile on my face.
I knew it was coming, but man it's so great having you back, Cayde. We missed you.
I know a ton of people were desperate for Cayde to kill Crow just to even the score, but I'm honestly so much happier with this outcome. It respects Cayde's actual character so much more.
Cayde’s never been one to hold grudges. Unless you are the Fallen that killed Andal Brask.
Cayde would have killed Uldren. But Cayde would not kill a newly born Guardian. Crow is innocent and has been paying for what his past life did without knowing
Cayde has always been fair, whether it’s enemy or friend, he probably didn’t hold any grudge against Uldren or the Scorn because they did get the better of him in all fairness.
I was expecting him to point blank shoot Crow, then go "Alright, we're even. No hard feelings."

@@MetalOWLD2-lt7io Hell yes
id beg to differ the ttk one with the war on Saturn was just epic for all the reasons
Has anyone else noticed that both times the traveler releases pulses of Light, it sounds like it's grasping to breath?
Immaru in the last season said he can hear The Traveler screaming, and we can hear a scream from those pulses
The skill gap between Cayde and Crow is amazing. Crow isn't throwing any grenades or knives, he slides at a wall then awkwardly crawls behind cover instead of rolling into cover in one smooth motion, doesn't have Marksman's Dodge either so he has to manually reload each time, he can't even land any hits so Hawkmoon's exotic perk doesn't come into play at all.
While Cayde is a veteran Guardian, he’s a Vanguard level Guardian after all, Crow never did have that ropes as a Guardian since he was “raised” by Spider. I also somehow doubt Glint ever taught him the ways of a Hunter either.
Yo I don’t remember ordering a yappuccino
@@spoon9839 hes not wrong, you can literally see it in this engagement
Bro forgot all his abilities other than the panic dodge into a rock with an empty mag out in the open.
We really need a whole Destiny tv show animated like this. It is absolutely beautiful.
1:21 Forsaken intro mission motif
Bro has a 93 AA hand cannon and can’t hit a single shot 😭
Bruh never used a shooting range. 😢
Crows movements feel like how a new light would be in a cinematic
- doesn't use any abilities
- sorta crawls into cover
- misses every shot while using a hand cannon that's supposed to be all about accuracy
you can really notice how bad Crow is lmao
@@darwinuang7764 Not to mention it feels like Cayde is toying with him.
@@darwinuang7764 i think that is because he trained as hunter but not by hunter right ? if i remember after cayde dies none of the hunter came back to tower except during traveler rise above the earth in the season of seraph end
@Dendyaryadi I think you're right. I remember there was a lore card at some point that said most hunters stay in the eliksni quarters or the wilds to avoid the vanguard so they're not roped in to being the next hunter vanguard.
@Dendyaryadi
Crow's mostly self-taught, from what I understand. He didn't really have anyone to teach him while he was effectively Spider's slave, he was pretty much forced to avoid other Guardians for a long time because they tended to react badly if they saw his face, and there hasn't been a Hunter Vanguard to act as a mentor since Cayde died.
The actual parallels to how combat works in Destiny 2 is really cool. The abilities and all the sounds reflect their in game counterparts, its nice.
except for the way Crow reloads. what gun does he think he's using, Ace?
(also, what knife is Cayde using? I thought he had weighted throwing knife?)
@@darwinuang7764 it would make sense due to you needing to be precise with that knife, how he easily knocked Hawkmoon out of Crow's hand makes me think its weighted knife
@@Anonymys43 then how is he able to toss the knife instantly without needing to do the twirl first? isn't that how you do it ingame?
@@darwinuang7764 I get where you’re coming from, but being honest it’s still a realistic-ish mocap cutscene. they made nods to gameplay elements but of course, it’s not gonna be a 1 to 1 copy. too many takes, too many hours of tweaking in rendering, that sort of thing.
2 hunters missing a bunch of hand Cannon shots, destiny in a nutshell
"I dont have to call you prince anymore. Do I?" That roast Cayde 😆
its not a roast... its a legit question since the last Cayde saw him was that he was a prince.
That's why he asks.
The pose they strike in the end being the opposite of what it was in Forsaken has me FREAKING OUT!!!
This is the best way for them to bring Cayde back! I'm so hyped for Final Shape!!!
you know what would make it perfect? Cayde saying "how's your sister"
This cutscene is such an amazing testament to Caydes character. It took everyone else such a long time to grow to realize that crow wasnt the same person uldren was, even Zavala who is shown as a pillar of unity had doubts about him. But Cayde instantly understands and forgives him. It makes me wonder if his time within the pale heart has taught him the true meaning of BEING a guardian. Like if he knows something we dont.
Not forgiveness, but understanding that Uldren Sov is dead. So he's not looking at Uldren but a completely different person now. Crow hasn't done anything to him so there's nothing to forgive.
@GhostRyder2008 that's why I quite literally said "understands and forgives" there IS a level of forgiveness necessary as displayed through other characters. It's just varying dependant on the emotional maturity of the individual.
@@GhostRyder2008exactly. He saw the Ghost.
@@cosmicquazar88 You don't have to forgive someone to work alongside them, that is not necessary. Thats a level of nuance that has existed in this game and other forms of media and offline reality for a long while now. Cayde saw the ghost and is no fool, he recognized the situation and is no stranger to wild and chaotic situations and knows to just roll with it.
Ugh. More like it’s never been an issue before. How many times have we seen a Guardian who was KNOWN before they were revived?
None.
And how many were known shitheads in their first life?
None.
Ergo Cayde isn’t being special. He attacked him and didn’t stop until he saw the Ghost.
And since he doesn’t know what’s going on outside?
Cayde would have to be a complete IDIOT (which is close) to not hold back at that point and ask questions.
Common sense isn’t some miracle
My god, the sound design of the bullets flying by is just *chef kiss*

Not really, just play the crucible! XD
Two dead men with enormous tales to tell. I also want to appreciate that this is absolutely perfect for them: Hunter's belong in the wild frontiers of the universe, striding through new territory and blazing trails. For Crow and Cayde, there is literally no where else for these two of what may be the most important Hunters in Destiny's history to be. For what greater and more sacred ground for them to be the first to blaze then the Pale Heart itself?

Fun fact for those who didn't notice: At the end of the cutscene, music kicks in when Cayde realizes Uldren became a guardian and isn't exactly the person who killed him. The music that plays is the intro to the song "Gunslinger" from the Forsaken expansion. Caught this cuz its one of my all-time favorite songs from Destiny. The significance - this song serves as a theme for much of the mission "Last Call", the first story mission from Forsaken & the scene of Cayde's final death. Awesome touch there.
