I started with vitamin C then added retin a at night.. Dried my skin but not to the extreme it does for some but I definitely had problems retaining moisture despite being religious about moisturizing. Tried glycolic peel pads instead, too much and made my skin raw. Have tried numerous different products and combos and never seemed to get these great results everyone else got.. Heard about the ordinary’s lactic acid and their glycolic acid and was skeptical that they would do much if I never got dramatic results from the supposed big gun of them all, retin a... I could not have been more wrong. I stopped using all other products I was using and started using the lactic acid every night and then twice a week I skip the lactic and use the glycolic on those nights. I have only been doing this for a week and a half and the results I have seen have been dramatic. both my kids have noticed and commented almost daily on how good my skin looks the last week. You are so right about sticking with it and to keep trying new things until you find what works best for you.. It can definitely be frustrating but eventually it will pay off..

Helen Tayo I don’t know if you’d be interested in a wash clothe that works wonders in exfoliating the body. But the name of the product is Salux Super Hard Nylon Clothe Towel. I purchased several on Amazon but I really like the super hard version as I have dry skin and omg....it leaves my skin so smooth. I’m going to be purchasing a few more for some x-mas goodie bags or stocking stuffers...it’s that good.
Helen Tayo Best way to spend $7.50. And can be used for such a long time and can be sanitized as well. It’s also said to help rid the skin of keratosis pillaris. I don’t know how more people don’t know about it...but I’m going to buy more before they start jacking the price up on them. lol 😝
Super helpful video! I just purchased a bunch of things and im still confused on the order im supposed to use some of them in. Does the Latic acid go after I cleanse ? I also got Hyloronic Acid, and Squalene Moisturizer
I really think everyone needs to start so darn slow with any acid. Plus if you can research the lowest intrusive acids and start there first!! I can only use lactic acid serum 5% once a week and the pixi toner glycolic 5% or paulas salylic acid toner 2% one day a week. So only 2x a week and different acids spaced out by like 5 days! so yeah that i all I can take for now with out major peeling or redness-bleh..Start slow cuz it has really helped with acne and dullness
Ok so for me its vit c on mornings and seperately I do glycolic acid twice a week at nights and the other nights I do retin a . Once a week is aha bha. They are not combined
hi :) i just came from your aha vs bha 101 video and i have a question. In that video you said everyone should use a aha and a bha in their routines for the fact that they both do things that can help ; which i agree with. especially since i have dry skin with occasional breakouts. but in this video you said , someone should only use one acid product. could you clear this up for me , I have dry skin and sensitivity due to my eczema around my nose and mouth ; with discoloring around my mouth and cheeks. i don’t breakout that much but if i don’t it bc of my sugar intake or stress. Should I only be using aha bc i’m dry and sensitive ? or bha for my breakouts ? or both?
Quick question ( Merry Christmas btw ) I have a moisturizer with lactic acid that I only use at night would it be too much if I use the ordinary lactic acid serum also ?
I have a question, i have aha 30% and bha 2% ,and a lactic 5%, can i use them together? I know i can use aha+bha around 1-2 times per week and lactic once a day. But can i use them together?
@@cattocat435 That's fine if you feel your skin needs the lactic. If you're using the peel 2x per week I don't think you need anything else. If 1x per week then using lactic on the other days or every other day is ok. Just be careful and watch out for irritation or dryness due to over exfoliation.😉
I tried the ordinary glycolic acid and I guess I was using it too much (every night), now my face is ruined. I have acid burns and discoloration all over my face😪
Question I have the ordinary aha and bha peel, Mario Badescu glycolic cleanser and another aha mask. I don’t have an acid serum. So with these acid masks and cleanser that I have, do I need an acid serum? I have the same skin type as urs. Combo oily, hyperpigmentation, texture, blackheads and acne prone. Thank you
Hi beautiful! I’ve bought my boyfriend the mandalic acid 10% for my boyfriend who is a darker skin type with oily skin and it’s been doing his face wonders all thanks to you! I’m thinking about trying the acid. How long do you leave it on your face before proceeding to a serum or next skin care step? Your reply would be very appreciated
You can put your other skincare products on immediately after. No need to wait. The only time I wait between skincare application steps is if I find I need to because of something like pilling etc.😉
You can if you like but, I prefer keeping retinols and acids in my nighttime routine. If you do choose to use an acid during the day, make sure you use a good SPF.😉
@@moniquejohnson3855 I think your talking about the hyaluronic acid. That is not an aha or bha even though the word 'acid' is in the name. Sephora only has the 10% lactic. Try Deciem's website to get the 5% or you could also try their 2% salicylic acid.
I love that you suggest people do their own research, great advice! I really appreciate your videos. This was great! Have you tried the Dr dennis gross alpha beta daily pads? I use half a pad once or twice a week, you're right, less is more, that's all it takes to see a noticeable difference! 👍😊
Can I use Sunday Riley Luna Retinol night serum with Farmacy Honeymoon Glow? I've been putting the SR Luna on then putting the Honeymoon glow on top. It seems fine and my skin has gotten super smooth from using this combo but I dont want to harm my skin. I've been trying to find this out. I'm also worried the Honeymoon Glow might be getting wasted because of the Luna retinol serum. Is it even getting to my skin being put on top of the Luna? Please help!!
Acids and retinols can be used together even though some people say you can't. Just pay attention to what your skin is telling you. I would use Farmacy first and then SR. I would even experiment doing Farmacy, moisturizer, then SR since it's an oil and, I recommend putting oil on top of moisturizers instead of the other way around. Also, every night may not be necessary. Doing this combo alternate nights may still give you great results.😉
@@GenevieveGetsIt I've always used oils on top moisturizers too but when I read the directions for the Luna it said to put it on directly after cleansing. I think because of the retinol. I'd just hate to waste the Honeymoon Glow. I've thought of using ine every other night, like the Luna one night then Honeymoon glow the next but I've just gotten great results using both together I just kept doing it. Thanks for the info!
