Thanks for another great build video! I definitely have to check out that strap. Since you asked, when installing seconds hands I wear a headlamp/magnifier with the thickest lens installed. I use hand pushers instead of the spring-loaded gadget, and place a small stable object under the front of the movement holder to tilt it back. That way, I get a horizontal view of the spindle without having to raise the table, bend down, or get on my knees.
Fantastic build … just finished my own. Just my second build and your video couldn’t have been clearer. I had only 1 problem, the ver last screw for the glass back, yes, pinged off the tweezers never to be seen again. Do you know where to get the correct c
Very nice build! I gotta say that I do really like the metal bracelet on this watch as well. I would love a VK63 Daytona homage video, for example the one with the sky blue dial and the black bezel!
Hey man, due to your videos i started making watches aswell. Now ive encountered an issue which idk the cause off. I made a watch using the NH34 movement and the first 4 days it all worked fine and now it randomly stops, eventho im wearing it so it has enough movement to wind itself it still seems to stop, then i have to shake it heavily or wind it up by hand. Any idea what it could be? Thanks in advance😊
Your contact you have to apply custom logos on the dials, are they local to you? Or you get it done by someone online? Any advice on who / where I can get this done mate? PS - great build!
i built my own GMT with automatic hn35 movement and over time the time has goten slower, even when putting it in sync with the real time of the clock at the same time. does this happen to you ? and do you know why this happens/ is there any way of fixing this
Great work again Jason! I'm not a big fan of the Santos style but it looks really nice, particularly that beautiful dial. I think it looks good on either strap. As regards to hand setting I've only done two builds so far and found it tricky and a bit stressful. On the second build I almost broke the seconds hand but just about rescued it! I've just got some basic hand pushers and I'll probably try and get some better ones. In the meantime could you give me the approximate size of tip for setting each hand including a gmt? That would be most helpful 😊 Thanks for another great video mate 👍
Thanks mate! Setting the hands gets much easier the more you do it for sure, regarding the tip size, to be honest I have no idea what size my tips are, they are just the ones that came with the press, but to make sure I use the correct size, I just sized each tip up on the movement to see which one would fit each post the best... sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
@jbwatchmods No worries mate, that's a great tip! Actually looking closely at the pinion I can see the three different sections that the hands fit to so I'll carefully size them up before setting. Thanks again mate 👍
… (following on from last unfinished comment) … get the correct replacement screws, (do you know the size, I’m estimating from the diameter of 1.2mm) or a kit of flat head slot screws … there’s a lot of kits Cross / Philips type. Many thanks in advance for any advice.
Thanks! Super unlucky to drop the last screw for your caseback. I haven't ran into this issue yet so unfortunately ive got no idea what size the screws are. Let me know if you do find out!
Great video and nice build! I’m starting to get into watch building myself I’m just a little confused. Will any movement fit any case or is there a certain way to know if it will or not? Thank you
Cool build:) I was wondering, what dial did you use for the watch in the intro? It says "Bell" something but couldn't find anything online. I really like the look of it, do you by any chance remember where you got it from?
Hey mate, thanks! That's a prototype of one of my own branded dials. You can email me at jb.watchmods@gmail.com if your interested in picking one up :)
Nice build. Not a fan of the fake gem in the crown, I think a plain crown would look better. Very nice job though - Looks good on the grey FKM - What brand is the FKM strap?
This might be a question you’ve answered 1000 times, but what hand press are you using? I have three different ones not including the manual handpress tools and I’m not happy with any of them.
I have a question about date wheel, my mod's date wheel got stuck while in time setting position but it works fine with the quick set position. I looked carefully on the gears and I realize the 24 hour does not fully rotate after I changed the date wheel. Do you have and tips what might be the issue? thank you
Very strange! Hard for me to say without seeing it, but id be pulling it apart and seeing if the date operates correctly with the hands/dial not fitted and go from there
Thanks! I honestly think it all comes down to personal preference and what you like to wear. My partner is a small girl and she rocks a 40mm sub style watch!
What I noticed with all of the available Santos like watch cases on Aliexpress: None of them have sapphire glass or do not mention what they use. You got any idea what type of crystal is on your case? *Edit: I noticed on your website yours has mineral glass
I have ordered watch components from AliExpress,. I will build a seiko 5 GMT, exactly one like seiko blueberry. Lets see how well i do.. Ps i haven't ever even built a lego tower, idk what i will do to a watch

I never thought tank styled watches looker good until now. Awesome build!

Ooh that’s a nice one. Don’t tempt me to build more

Ive never used any sort of magnification yet. Id love to try that! Tilting the movement back is a great idea aswell!!
awesome this is definitely my favorite santos style build ive seen
Thanks!!
brooo!!! Your videos just keep getting better and better! It's so fun to see you grow.
Thanks! Really appreciate it :)

Love that build, it's exactly the kind of style that I was looking for.
Cheers
Thanks!
Have you ever come across Tag Heuer Monaco (square) homage kit?

Thanks! Yep, Ive got a few VK63 builds on the to do list now :)
Nice job, mate!
Thanks mate :)
Hand and dial link no longer working
Links updated :)
Love the build, i ordered a stap for christmas it looks really nice
Its a great quality strap🙂
Looks amazing on both the fkm and the bracelet
Thanks mate!
Is it necessary to buy the crystal press? Seems like it already comes placed when you buy the case and strap??
You don't need to buy the crystal press for this model as the crystal is already installed in this case :)

Looks sharp 😊
Thanks🙌

Thanks mate. He's an online friend of mine, but there are a few sellers on aliexpress who offer dial printing services!
Can you make a homage of vintage patek philippe and vintage piaget watches? It would be a change from all the other builds people are posting 👍
I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the idea!
Great build ! Where can I find the ruber strap ?
Thanks! Ive added the link in the description :)
Can you link the hand press you used please
Already linked in the description :)

I personally prefer metal bracelet more, big fan of full metal watches :)
Anyway, very cool build!
Cheers! Yeah just comes down to personal preference at the end of the day :)
beautiful
Thanks!
I love this mod.
Thanks mate!
Where I can find those rubber straps?
Links added to the description :)
Thats dope!
Thanks mate!
I like the metal Grand Seiko bracelet better, still a nice watch with the rubber one
I don't think that bracelet would be compatible with this case
Hi Jason great vid, i know this is not everybody's favourite, but have you thought of doing a build with a PT5000 movement?
I haven't thought about that movement yet... I might have to look into it :)
Maybe I missed it - How did you get the Bell printed on the dial?
I use custom made dial stickers for this one
Rubber strap all the way. Maybe I'll source a white dial and a white rubber strap for my build.
Tnx for the example m8 is 👍.
Cheers mate! Agree on the rubber strap :)
You turned a boring style into a "WOW, I need that!" Awesome build!
Haha thanks mate!
imo looks better on the bracelet but that my personal opinion. Greta build though
Thanks! Yeah, they both look good I think its just personal preference
Please do more quartz movment builds.
Will do in the future!
Great job, mate! I just subscribed. I'm eager to make a build video, but the fear of messing it up keeps me procrastinating.😅
Thanks mate! Just jump straight in and do it I reckon! Who cares if you mess it up haha
@jbwatchmods 😂
Can you build oris big crown homage
Yeah, ill look into it!
Great videos bro! Especially the close-ups are fantastic. One technical question. Which camera do you use?
Thanks! Ive got a Nikon Z6III and Nikon ZF
Do you know any cheap hand wind movement that is thin enough to fit in a thin case? I am trying to build a watch under 11mm.
I am pretty sure it's dependant on case more than the movement.
Great video and nice build! I’m starting to get into watch building myself I’m just a little confused. Will any movement fit any case or is there a certain way to know if it will or not? Thank you
Certain cases are made to suit certain movements. When you purchase your case it will tell you what movements will fit into that case. Good luck!
@jbwatchmods Thank you very much
how did you get the custom logo, do you message the seller?
I used a custom made dial decal for this dial

Love your vids, got inspired by you and watchg the vids all the time
do you use a loup and what camera?
Thanks! No I don't use a loup, ive never tried one! I use Nikon Z6III and Nikon ZF
how were you able to get the custom watch face made with BELL HANDMADE?
I assume when you order watchface, some sellers can add any logo you ask
Ive got dial decals made that I used on this one

More curious how you got those guitars to stand like that with nothing visible….
Its a balancing act, breath on them and they will fall haha
ive made 2 watches and it took me like 30 minutes to get the seconds hand on and you did it in 5 seconds 😂 i need more practice
Haha yeah its just practice!

If it was a fake Cartier, it would have Cartier on the dial. It’s called a homage. JB is not trying to pass it off as a Cartier. 🥱
