@@thomassanchez-oo6sb P.U.L.S.E is a tour that the three remaining members of Pink Floyd did, it was only recorded for the world in England, the rest is history... 🛸🌺🐺🐾 year 94
Since I am much too young to ever see Pink Floyd live, I am all the more grateful to my grandparents that they made it possible for me to see exactly this concert in Pompeii live. Together with the Nightwish concert in Wacken 2013 the most magical thing I've ever seen on stage. If I ever had a wish fulfilled by a fairy, I would wish I could only play this solo so magically once.
I believe Dave Mustaine from Megadeth once said: "David Gilmour can do more with a single note than most other guitar players can do with the whole fretboard..." And the guitar solos of Comfortably Numb (as well many other Pink Floyd songs) prove this quote. It isn't super flashy, hyper fast, but is full of feeling... of soul. When David starts playing, he becomes one with that guitar, it's no longer an instrument but an extension of himself. Great reaction as always ;)
David Gilmour truly outdid himself at his Pompeii concert. It was undeniably one of his best, if not the absolute best, solo performance ever. He poured his heart and soul into it, making it an unforgettable experience.
I was fortunate enough to see David Gilmour on this tour when it came through Chicago in 2016. I had only become a Pink Floyd (and especially a David Gilmour fan) the year prior, so to see him in a concert setting and hearing him play so many classic Pink Floyd songs was an amazing and surreal experience. (He also had a good solo album out that year, called 'Rattle That Lock"). David Gilmour was 70 years old in 2016 (he's the same age as my dad) and he still sounds amazing. He only very rarely tours and he has talked about new music, but it hasn't happened yet. I hope he has at least one more tour left in him.
Not only is this a great song, but a great performance, buy a great guitarist. At 70 and getting it done. The look of him in that smokey atmosphere during his solos, a sight we shall never forget. ❤ me some Pink Floyd
This video has been my favourite version since I first heard it. The drummer clearly wouldn't rather be anywhere else on earth than right there- who could be happier in his job, looking at his face?
I've been a Pink Floyd fan since 1973 when they released their epic album "Dark Side of the Moon", I was a young 17 year old guitarist in 1973. Being a guitarist all my life, David Gilmour is, and has been, one of my biggest inspirations! I've seen Pink Floyd twice live, one time was The Wall Concert in 1980 at The Coliseum in Uniondale Long Island NY. It was the most incredible, phenomenal, performance of ANY kind, that I have seen in all my 67 years on this planet!
Fantastic reaction. I've had the privilege of seeing them both at separate times. Waters = Awesome. Gilmour = Godly. He NEEDS to see the Pulse Comfortably Numb solo(s). Uncut version if possible. I loved every second of this reaction. 👏
Honestly one of the best guitar performances by any guitarist in any song ever BUT so sad that Roger couldn't be a part of this one, it's why i love the 2006 version so much !!!
'In Any Tongue' from the same concert is another great song. The 'Remember That Night' concert is also amazing, with highlights like 'Fat Old Sun', 'The Blue', and 'On An Island'.
Saw them 4 times - first time at 15 at Veterans Stadium last concert before it was closed. They would just like the albums and the crowd is amazing. Ans yes lots of joints being shared lol
I’ve seen David live (2016h, I’ve seen Roger live (2000) and I saw Pink Floyd live (1994). Sadly I never saw David and Roger together. But what you said about human creativity, when I was 12 and first heard them, this weird box set that I had my dad buy me, Atom Heart, Meddle, Obscured, and Dark Side, I was drawn to them from the cover art. So shout out to Storm T. and Hipgnosis. But the music literally changed the trajectory of my life. It shaped me and is still doing that. I can’t think of another band I would say the same of. Or any religion. So when you speak of God coming down to watch them, I so get that
You gotta see the same song PINK FLOYD : LIVE PULSE 1994. Must! I love this mature solo in Pompeii, but if your friend has never seen Pulse, he just has to 🙂
I’ve had the privilege of seeing Pink Floyd in concert twice and don’t have the words to describe how amazing it was. When they performed this song it was like a mind out of body experience. So mesmerizing and epic! 🔥
Gilmour was the first live act in that amphitheater since since 79AD. You have put your boy in front of the Pulse performance of this song. David Gilmour with his band sounding exactly like Pink Floyd. He was actually wearing a one of Jimi Hendrix's guitar straps. His wife bought it for his birthday. They played almost every one of Floyd's biggest hits. They were the very first live performance in that amphitheater since 79AD. The most amazing thing about this performance is that Gilmour was in his 70s and had just sang for two hours. Finishing with this song...
I grew up in the 60'ties and heard them a lot in the 70'ties and 80'ties. The Wall (Album and film) was the first time Pink Floyd really got under my generations skin for real. After that, there was NO return. Best band ever. I'am 62 now, and it's still my favorite band.
I remember an evening in late 2015. Drove with a friend to Germany in a BMW Z3 to see this tour. Yeah, it was great. People in the audience were literally crying at times. Drove back in darkness, doing close to 250km/h on the Autobahn. It was a good day,
To tell you how big of the cast this was the keyboard is singing The Rodger Waters part is Chuck Leavell who played keyboard for the rolling Stones. The other keyboardist played for Michael Jackson!! Also one little item of interest the guitar strap Gilmore is using was Jimi Hendrix's guitar strap! His wife Polly Samson bought it for him! The drummer is Steve Distanislao who was drummer for Crosby stills and Nash, Kenny loggins and Roxy music! I guess when David Gilmour asks you if you want to play a small tour with him not many people say NO!!! I feel somewhat the same way you do about Pink Floyd and believe they are the Mozart/Beethoven of the 20th century!!! People will be listening to Mozart's Requiem Beethoven's 9th symphony and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon a thousand years from now if an asteroid doesn't hit us or we don't blow ourselves up!!! Last comment I've seen Pink Floyd 4 times in three different decades. Twice in the 70s with their 1977 In the flesh tour probably being the best of the four concerts if that's at all possible. I saw at least a dozen people physically hauled out of that concert cuz they had taken acid and freaked out! They played all of "Animals" then all of "Wish You Were Here" then half of the Dark Side of the Moon for their encore! Also saw them in the 87 for momentary lapse of reason and the Pulse concert in 94!!!! I've seen about 100 concert from ACDC to led Zeppelin and everyone in between alphabetically and never a better concert than Floyd puts on!!!!!!!!!!
i was fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd live MLOR tour just before pulse, many of the same stage show elements were being shown for the first time, including flying beds and boars and it was incredible, you walk home after feeling like you had an epiphany, you become comfortably numb, because you just witnessed greatness and total immersion, and yet you don't know what to do after because it's like witnessing the end of the universe all at the same time, it took hours to come down from that, and i was not into the drugs and this was 1998. I then subsequently saw Genesis the same year months apart and things don't get better than that, two of the biggest bands of their era in the world back to back. what a year, i subsequently got to see genesis again, joe satriani and ToTo in the years that followed when i lived in london.
I've been lucky enough to have seen them live twice.... Unforgettable moments.. Better than Zepplin, and I love Zep and saw then in a 3,000 seat venue in Glasgow just after Zep 4 came out... But Pink Floyd have their own level... No-one else is on it or above it.
I like this version because of the black stat. The tone is incrediable. The guitar strap was Jimi Hendrixs .The Mrs. bought it at an auction for David. The lights are representive of Dark Side of the Moon.
U really have to go back and watch the pulse 94 version of this song.N my opinion it's the best guitar solo ever!!David Gilmour is the man,and he proves why n this version!!
I have been listening to Floyd for 50+ years. Very few days pass when I don't listen to my boys. When my soul needs feeding, I give it Floyd which provides all the nutrients it needs.
I was in italy on vacation two months ago and went to Pompeii for the day. Very small ancient theater inside the ruins complex. There were Floyd posters in the tunnel and their music playing over the speakers. Huge regret not going to this show years ago, I was so close to pulling the trigger. Blessed are those who were there. I’m in the minority, but I’ve always preferred the solo from this show over pulse. There’s more soul and blues in the feeling of his playing in this version.
The second solo is the GREATEST live solo ever recorded..nothing and I mean nothing comes close..Page’s introduction to Since I’ve been loving you (SIBLY) at Madison Square Garden in 1975..is the next best thing..but the length and power n this performance is just incredible..
David Gilmour the pony person to perform in Pompeii twice since 79 AD. Once with Floyd and this solo with an audience. later selling 121 of his guitars for $21 million with the "Black Strat" going for $3.9 million. Without his Jimi Hendrix guitar strap that Jimi play the National Anthem on July 4, 1970. Checkout " in any tongue" same concert "rattle that lock"
I loved what you said about pink floyds music beeing a beautiful creation. In my opinion music is the most beautiful thing humans have ever created, timeless, language barrier free, emotional. If aliens where to wipe us out after we decide to nuke ourselves again, the one thing I'd show them to convince them that we can be good, that we can create beautiful things, I would play DSOTM to them.
seeing you for the first time. have you seen the song, in this concert, 'In Any Tongue'. one of my favourite solos and great backing singer performance
Great reaction guys. I’ve seen Pink Floyd (the 94 version), and both David and Roger on their own. I actually preferred David’s last solo tour, but maybe that’s because I’ve watched Pulse so many times. Anyway, your comment about them being viewed as a stoner band back in the day. I might add white middle class stoners to that. What has been refreshing for me through watching these reactions is how many people of color really dig them. Like they didn’t heAr it before or know that it was music that everyone can relate to. I blame classic rock radio for that!
Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour's great guitar "The Black Strat" is now the world's most expensive guitar sold at auction, after it went under the hammer for $3.9 million 😃
Of course the Pulse version actually has the other members of Pink Floyd in it with a slightly longer and better solo in most people's opinions. Better light show as well. Not that this performance is any slouch, just sayin'.
I don’t understand....... Personally my favorite song of all time, David Gilmour is the best guitarist that has walked the face of the Earth.
If you’ve never seen Pink Floyd live, you gotta watch the concert Pulse. It’s perfect! 💖✨💫
Saw the Pulse concert in Copenhagen in 94'. Epic.
Greatest live solo too this day!!! And the lights and lasers. Nothing compares 2 this day!!!!✌🏼❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Pulse concert that is!!!!!

Pompeii version of comfortably numb is the GOAT version.
Blows the pulse show out of the water. No spaceship in this one, just David.
The most epic guitar solo in music history. Period. 🥹

David is a guitar God. So much emotion and soul comes from that guitar. And he was 70 years at this concert. Great reaction.
THX for showing..
to understand, you need to listen to the complete concept album..

Drummer was smiling because he knew Gilmour was getting to rip one of the best solos ever!!!! And he realized he was going to be a part of it!!!

Don´t forget Nick Mason´s band A SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS, touring with wonderful musicians.
You need to see the PULSE concert version!! Lights, lasers , ACTION!!
There are a few guitar players where you know from the first few bars. David is one. Got to see him live in Atlanta.

What a lot of people don't know is that the drummer was the drummer for Crosby Stills & Nash. He's been with David Gilmour for almost 20 years.
You might be numb but if that doesn’t make you feel alive. Holy hell

Great reaction! That guitar strap with the X's on it once belonged to Jimi Hendrix. Just imagine the gigs that it has witnessed!
Freaking awesome every time. So funny how you mentioned the drummer. Made me sad about having to go to work to a job one hates. Lol.

You guys need to check out Fat Old Sun from Live At Gdansk. Gilmour jamming like you've never seen before!
seeing you for the first time. have you seen the song, in this concert, 'In Any Tongue'. one of my favourite solos and great backing singer performance
if I'm not mistaken, David Gilmour was about 70 years old at this concert. Fantastic.😀

You don't listen to David Gilmour you experience it
Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour's great guitar "The Black Strat" is now the world's most expensive guitar sold at auction, after it went under the hammer for $3.9 million 😃
guitar is sublime. will never be anything like this again
Please, Confortable Numb, PULSE 1994. Epic, believe.
My friends you have watched the wrong live version of this masterpiece you must watch the live version at Pulse concert Earl's Court London 1994.👍
To me the Pulse version is my favourite, however this is good as well. ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺
One of them Richard Wright was actually older than David Glimour.
Rick died in 2008. He wasn't at Pompeii for this.
It a group I see 5 time
David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason were Pink Floyd. Waters wrote some words and walked away.
Of course the Pulse version actually has the other members of Pink Floyd in it with a slightly longer and better solo in most people's opinions. Better light show as well. Not that this performance is any slouch, just sayin'.
dire straits mark knopfler 1988 mandela !! brothers in arms or sultans of swing
There is actually a better video concert version of this song.
¿Y tenéis que mover la cabeza los dos a la vez como dos muñecos estúpidos? Ya he visto videos como este: todos iguales...
I don’t understand.......
If I had never seen a PF video before, or heard them live, I would be blown away by this video....... but I have seen and heard them at their best...... so why waste your mates time with this one ?
Even on my VHS tape that has been played thousands of times, the Pulse and DSOT versions SHAME this version...... the original , un altered versions, that is.
The remixed versions always lose character and tone and sound more sterile.
This version is not even 60% of the original Pulse version on a worn out tape. lol
All of pink floyd are very progressive and all hold socialist ideals BTW not just Roger! Most bands and artists are not weird trumpies😂😂😂
Most creative and intelligent people 😂
Pulse version better. Really😁
Pulse version much much better
Just a little bit less good than Pulse version.
Check this Trumpist cap, esp when reacting to PF …. this is not a good fit.
At least stay unpolitical on your reactions, and this goes for such statements on clothing too, even when you don’t (or don’t want to) understand socialism.
Wearing caps as an adult is a thing for itself.
They will just say socialism is evil 😂
Without any intelligent understanding
Maybe be a failure to talk into the song. Only gathering proxy 500 likes in a year??? I'm not a judge, just a listener...
