    So I had my Panasonic EY7410 that still continue to work well after a number of years. I bought this Milwaukee M4 as a backup. I realized they were very similar in function and design, the M4 has a quick connect chuck, no LED and obviously a different battery design but that's about it, really feels like the same tool. The trigger lock and auto stop clutch works exactly the same. The only problem I have with the M4 is the battery design, it does not stay locked properly and becomes loose too easily, goes flying if dropped, other than that it's a great tool. I use these for small appliance repairs, great control. For electrical work I use the Makita 7.2v version of this driver, similar function, a little thicker but twice the torque.

      I would never want a tool like this to be charged by USB. Most of those use sealed batteries. So you cannot swap it when it gets low and the built in batteries like don't last forever, when the battery goes bad you need to buy a whole new tool.
      Also I am a Milwaukee fan, once you get into them you never go back. They are not always the cheapest but they are fantastic tools, great quality and worth the price.

    I use the DeWalt everyday at my current job, and find that the gyroscopic feature doesn’t always fire as intended, thus annoying.
    I must say the Dewalt unit is also very tough, and have torqued it manually beyond motor power by hand, “Not recommended” and haven’t broke the internal gears yet. However after using the Milwaukee prior for 5 years continuous every day at my electric panel wiring job, this tool was by far my favorite. The battery life and 45 min charge time is wonderful, and it had more than enough power to do my job easily. For me I would not buy the Dewalt, only because of its “Must Thrust” motion controlled power switch, which makes getting small fumble prone machine screws started and started straight more difficult in my opinion. Other than this, the Dewalt is indeed a very good power screwdriver, but the Milwaukee wins hands down in my opinion. Magnetize your driver bit, and you are golden with the Milwaukee my friend. 😎👍

      I had the dewalt also. An mine didn’t always fire either. An gotten worse in short order I’ve already thrown it out. I may of used it on 8-10 jobs tops. Totaling to say about a good solid 30 minutes of use in the dewalt. Tops.
      Since than I swapped up to the Dremmel An it works by pushing the tip onto the screw and or by button an has the torque adjustment.
      Takes up less room in my bag. I have t really put it up to anything it couldn’t handle. Due to normally what I know it can’t take ild already be on a full sized drill anyway.
      Bug dewalt pissed me off with that one. Had I known I would have kept my $80-100 or whatever it was.

    I have wanted this screwdriver for the longest time. The only reason I have not bought it was that Milwaukee has made no other M4 tools since this screwdriver launched years ago which makes me question the longevity of the M4 line. I keep thinking they will remake this exact tool with the red lithium usb batteries which would make sense since they have committed to that battery platform with their lights and heated gloves.

      I can assure you 100% they will never make another one of these. Reason is because it’s actually a rebadged Hitachi or Metabo product. They’re both absolutely identical to each other, apart from the paint and brand. This one is almost identical to those two but it misses out on one of the most convenient and important bits of the device, the LED on the front. I can’t believe Milwaukee left the LED off. I use it constantly! Whether on my RC buggy, my pc, things around the house, everywhere.
      Do yourself a favour and grab either the Hitachi or Metabo. You NEED that LED. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

      @aaronperelmuter8433 Рік тому +1

      @@FixitFred The electronics are slightly different on the red one. It has the LED battery gauge in the handle which the other two don’t have plus it doesn’t have the LED light at the front, so the electronics are for sure slightly different. From what I can see on this red one, it looks to have the identical clutch mechanism, handle, body, handle hinge, hi/low switch, forward/reverse switch, etc. If the batteries on the red ones are 1500mAh, my guess is that they’ll be identical to the other two. My Hitachi came with the same twin batteries and the charger is very similar.
      From what I could hear, the motor sounds just about exactly the same as mine, so I’m guessing the mechanicals will be identical between all three brands. Man, I could not stand using this without the front LED though. Especially when doing ANYTHING in the pc, the light is not only nice to have, it’s literally essential. I used to be a pc technician and every pc case is dark as anything when the power is turned off, so that front LED is literally not an option. The work wouldn’t happen if it wasn’t there. Or I’d be using a manual screwdriver and still wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. 😳🫣

    I don't get it this tech has been around for over 20 years. BLACK AND DECKER had a similar product in the 2000's. And it did almost everything this does. It came in a case with bits and adaptersand it was rechargeable. I used to love it back then. Today's tech is way better more power, more choices why go back in time? This dude is acting out to sell something that is outdated by most standards. If you need more reach get a longer extension. They are cheap. This is like people rediscovering the toaster oven and calling it an air fryer.

    • @GrantButler
      @GrantButler  Рік тому

      Oh brother, you could not be more wrong. I'm not saying this in the latest and greatest tech. Milwaukee just does it better. As I mentioned in the video I had this same tool at my previous job. Before they got me the Milwaukee one I had a Panasonic one that was from the 90's. So you got one thing right, its not new, but its still older than you thought. There's a reason this is one of my most popular videos. It fits a need. The larger and better drivers from Milwaukee don't fit in my tool bag I have to take everywhere for my job, and the formfactor fits my field of work perfectly. I'm regularly adding & removing my extension, so carrying around ANOTHER bit would just be one more thing that I don't actually need. Also, I'm not really selling anything. I'm sharing the unboxing experience with people, and then my opinion. I'm sorry this video bothered you so much that you had to leave such a long comment. However, I am grateful that you watched the video, and took the time to write such a comment. Engagement is engagement 👍 thanks for the bump in analytics 🤗

    $180 dollars is a fucking joke. dewalts gyroscopic screwdriver which is ten times easier to use is $60 less, is variable speed with incredibly fine control, has a better chuck, the handle actually locks into place AND it comes with a very nice bag that holds tool, charger, batteries and whatever bits you could possibly use. for the price difference you can buy FOUR more batteries for the dewalt. theres absolutely no benefit to the milwaukee. oh BTW, 2 batteries for the dewalt will run you $30 while just ONE battery for the milwaukee will cost $45.

But the Bosch PS21 is a great deal at $99 (Amazon) although it isn't an "inline" style. You can go very slow to get even small screws started, I mean like 10 rpm slow so it's fantastic. Opposite that, it'll pull 4 inches of 1/4 lag screws from wood crates all day, not even my DeWalt 12v brushless "screwdriver" would touch those. It is a highly under-appreciated tool! With two battery sizes, they are pretty versatile for different use cases. I've got the Metabo version of this (they are almost identical) because it was heavily discounted at Lowe's and my 20ish year old DeWalt needs new batts which are pretty pricey. I've never been a DeWalt fan, but that thing has been reliable AF. The newer one has some nice features, but I'm reading that the quality/durability may be lacking. It'd probably be cheaper for you to buy them on Amazon, because that's exactly what I'd charge you so I could replace mine.

      I get it. It fits my needs so perfectly; it's worth it to me. It'll make more sense for people to get the m12 lineup.
      2 drills & 2 batteries for $30 less
