Man, I really wish you used the 7.2v makita drill. Milwaukee and metabo straight stole their design. But even better, out of my 50+ cordless power tools is the makita 7.2v IMPACT DRIVER!! It is the most amazing tool I’ve ever used and it’s really amazingly durable and if the brushes go out you just swap the whole motor super simple. It has a trigger on each side with variable speed. It’s seriously genius
@@phillipcsandoval9094 i have and use ryobi for many years.. After i bought a ryobi 12v for a back up for my 14.4 Makita.. Doing decks.. And that ryobi kicked my Makita all day long.. That's when i started buying ryobi.. But not all ryobi stuff is great..like every mnfr here

As a shop owner, I pay close attention to your tests. Buying the right tool based on your tests can save a lot of frustrations down the line and it clears a lot of the misinformation about one brand or another. Thanks a lot for all your hard work.
See, I find the opposite to be true. Because, for example, he shows a makita sander is better than a milwaukee, but also shows a milwaukee impact is better than a makita. And since each use different batteries, I have to compromise and go with the worse tool because I already have the batteries for it. So the tests become irrelevant as I end up sticking to one brand system.
@@Floortile83 It would be nice if a battery was a battery like the good old days. Make them a standard size.. like we had D, C, AA, etc, so we can buy one battery and use it in All of our tools and not have to be buying Brand specific batteries. Then you have 4 types of batteries and chargers all laying around cluttering up the shop. As long as all the tools are the same voltage, then make the battery pack size standard. Change the size for different voltages to avoid using the wrong chargers or the wrong batteries in the wrong tools.
@@Floortile83 you have tools, so that means you like to diy stuff, right? I’m a professional low-volt electrical contractor, that Dewalt screwdriver is one of the best tools I’ve ever purchased. The gyroscope becomes very natural after you get used to it.
@@keithmo80 Not disagreeing, but there are also some things to consider for some of the tools included. Torque can vary greatly depending on the batteries used (for those that didn't have an internal). There were 15 different brands that he used in the five minute test that 75 minutes of holding those screwdrivers down. That is dedication lady’s and gentleman
Did anyone see the five-minute test per brand? That was only the five-minute. Imagine the time spent doing other tests and preparing this video. The time he dedicated to test every brand deserves a subscribe to his channel. 👏
Yeah I seen it but I don't quiet understand the purpose of it.... I'm pretty sure nobody will be buying any of those to turn another drill. You could call it a torture, battery, and/or torque test but would be a terrible one.
I've had the Metabo for a couple of years now. Plenty of power for a screwdriver and the lowest clutch settings are great for delicate stuff that would be easy to damage. It's a great tool.
i personally have a metabo cordless drill with compact battery pack. it has more like pistol size, but it performes very well (surprisingly) compared to more powerful drills and costs less than market leaders such as bosch, dewalt and makita
I can't sing your praises enough. Thorough yet comprehensive, informative yet entertaining, there's just nothing bad about this series. You've perfected your craft.
Yep. It's really kind of disgusting how in almost every single one of PF's videos, every single tool manufacturer except one or two have completely false advertising claims plastered all over their tools.
They're "lab conditions" or whatever probably, meaning you find a tool that performs above average, find the best possible test equipment and scenario, write down only the highest readout, then add 10% for good measure. There might be some truth to it (emphasis on might), but it sure as hell isn't practically meaningful. That's part of the beauty of these tests here, they're all pretty practical!
Milwaukee claim usually what so ever... xxx faster, xxx stronger, xx life and so on... vs. What? Maybe against the worst and cheapest ones but it is ugly way to do things 🤮. Their method of measuremet is their own...
The amount of dedication this guy has is incredible... If you just add up the times from the endurance test, you'll find that he spent 65 minutes of his life just sitting there spinning an old Milwaukee drill with some electric screwdriver. And I cant even imagine how much time it takes to setup these tests and some of the contraptions he uses. More power to him, he deserves lots of subscribers and unlimited fonds for testing more things. Thanks!
I use the DeWalt daily for work, and results of this test are in line with my experience. However I think you're right in saying the gyro drive takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you can really finely adjust drive speed in a way that no other screwdriver tested allows. I use this drill for tapping threads in plastic, assembling sensitive electronics, and much more. it's been one of my daily driver as far tools go, and definitely feel like it's worth the short learning curve
I'm in a similar boat, my work had full set of 10 Dewalt drivers that we had to get rid of because the gyro function was deemed an ergonomic risk. They were replaced with the milwaukee drivers because of the thumb switch. The milwaukee drivers are junk overall. The batteries will refuse to charge randomly, the thumb switches break quickly disabling the driver. the available torque and speed falls off after a month or two of use. overall they last about 1/3 as long as the Dewalt.
Agree 100% with Dylan. Since getting and using the Dewalt once you get the hang of it, it's almost a telepathic experience to use. I grab regular screwdrivers now and look at them wondering why they aren't turning on their own. Huge fan of the tech in that driver.
Agreed, the DeWalt is one of my favorite tools, and what wasn’t mentioned is that they have a higher-end model that allows for adjustment of the handle angle, and has a 15-position clutch. I use it literally every day and it hasn’t failed me yet.
I agree. The pace of the new content is impressive, with no change in quality. Todd, if you read this, I'd love a video comparing taps and dies. My father's Craftsman set from the 1970s seems to be pretty good, but it seems the reviews on all the reasonably priced new sets are aweful. Is there a good brand for under $500 for a metric set?
I gotta say, I have an old Black and Decker AD600 screw-driver/drill uses 4 AA batteries. I received it as a Christmas present about 25 years ago. I bought bit and drill sets for it and the Thing has been doing all kinds of stuff that whole time, I really didn't expect it to last a year, now it rates up there as one of the best Christmas presents and tools I ever got/have.
This is by far the best UA-cam channel. Science grade testing in a matter that anyone can understand. Real life scenario testing, no BS brand bias. Seriously, good job man. Please tell us if you need extra income to supplement your testing costs
I have two of the Dewalt’s - straight/pistol grip and simply straight versions - and love them both. The gyro thing does take a minute to wrap your head around but it quickly becomes very intuitive… its like a regular screwdriver, the further and harder you turn the faster and harder it goes. Plus.. there’s no forward/reverse switch… just turn it in the direction you want to go.
I'm not sure how useful a tool like this would be for me, but I feel like I'd go for the DeWalt, but the NoCry seems decent for the money, same for 3 Ryobi. Nobody's gonna convince me that the Milwaukee is twice the tool that the DeWalt is lol not judging by the time either tool took to run a screw, and you're certainly not getting twice the torque out of it. Side note: I feel bad that the commentor gal's favorite tool brand didn't hold very well against that rusty old Milfuckee lol
I love the dewalt screwdriver. I have the 680 which pivots as well as has a bit holder. Super easy to use and great even for sensitive things like install wall plates. It also includes a clutch if you’re trying to do something delicate quickly.
I know a fair few women who would be pissed off as heck at seeing a pink, subpar screwdriver being marketed for them... Then again my mom would buy it in a heartbeat.
@@balsamicvin9935 eh not really. Many products these days are not really made by a "good faith" (not sure what term would be more appropriate here) company putting out "their" product and hoping it becomes popular. Rather just some faceless company sourcing a generic piece of crap dirt cheap, slap some branding on it, just for the sake of making a buck off people who don't know better, maybe buying somebody else a Christmas gift or what have you. Many feminists are pretty critical of this type of marketing, including brands using breast cancer awareness and it being unclear how they're actually supporting sometimes (as well as just issues with non profit organizations in general). Then turning around, and making people believe the manufactures are wrong, because you don't know how to test properly, because no one showed you it... That is what this video is doing.
Out of the box the Dewalt is hard to get used to. But once you are used to the gyro design its great. I use mine in server rooms and not having to remember to set the direction combined with the super slow(so you don't strip a screw) variable starting speed; It's a wonderful tool.
I have the model tested in the video (DCF682) as well as the upgrade with the pivoting grip, clutch, and two LEDs instead of one (DCF680). Would’ve liked to seen the latter tested against the others, though the operation has the same specs. @@Jdbaughman1994 me, I'm kinda married to Milwaukee at this point. I'm not rooting for them on these tests (especially this one, being the only tool using the M4 battery, pheh to that). I own and use a LOT of M12 and M18 batteries, chargers, and tools. They all get the jobs done for my clients. I'm interested in where M places in these tests. This one specifically since I owned several NiCad Milwaukee screwdrivers (like the M4 version in this video) back in the 90's. I built a hell of a lot of desktop computers and servers then using those. Never used one on anything but #8 & #6 machine screws in computers, at low torque settings.
Another great vid. Just wish you had included Snap On. I use mine professionally every day for mechanical work, as opposed to carpentry which is mainly used in the forward direction only. The rocker trigger controlling the forward/reverse 😊direction for screwing and UnScrewing on the Snap On is the most used and convenient feature for mechanical work. Wish they all had that.
I have that snap on one as well with the forward/ reverse rocker switch and clutch. It has a NiCad battery so it probably doesn't perform as well as the newer lithium tools, but it has enough power for all my needs and has lasted 15 years and counting.

@@jttech44 Same story here! There is not a purchase I make without 1st checking Project Farm's reviews. My last purchases were wood glue and a chain saw chain, both of which I'm eternally grateful to PF for pointing me in the right direction.
I’m an electrician, A long time ago I purchased the Milwaukee screwdriver showed here to use for installing the hundreds of outlets and switches and lights instead of carrying around a full size batttery gun around everywhere as it’s bulkier/heavier and always had nothing but love for the brand. The Milwaukee screwdriver ended up being a disappointment In general. Purchased the no cry and it provides the strength and portability I was always after; the only downside to it is that it has a built in battery, and takes 3 hours to charge, seeing as how a battery pack for a lot of equipment can cost give or take $40 I bought another one no questions asked! Thanks so much projectfarm I would’ve never known about this great tool without you!
When the Project Farm guy announces he's going to have a yard sale, I will binge watch every episode and then hit the road to get in line. Great stuff as always.

After this video I bought myself 4 NoCry machines. I wouldn't even know they exist without this video. They are the best tool for me, because they have variable speed and a clutch, perfect tool for mounting outlets in Germany. You are helping me manage my small business with those kind of videos, now I can buy exactly what I need, without trying all those brands by myself. Keep up the good work!
There is a version of the DeWalt that also has the clutch, though it is still gyro to activate (may not be possible to actuate in all conditions positions) and you could only buy two for the money you bought four tools, at least here in America. NoCry and DeWalt are my top picks. Grüss dich, and greetings from Texas friend.
I don't think PF approves of anything, but he gives viewers the option to choose based on the results of his testing, which isn't exactly a recommendation, rather an open suggestion for us to choose for ourselves. A company would have to keep its words carefully because any one of us can go and see the tests being conducted for ourselves, rather than the old days of pretending that the market jargon of "independently tested" without context means anything.
@@classydays43 Exactly. Part of why everyone loves his videos is because he's unbiased. He doesn't usually give strong opinions outside of the casual "wow that did bad" or "wow that did better than expected" I love it because like you said, he gives us the info to go ahead and choose for ourselves. We can compare each brand/model to find out which one suits our needs best.
I have the dewalt version with the clutch. I've used it for 2 years fixing rc cars. It gets abused and keeps on going. The gyro was weird at first but it's amazing now and can't live without it. I'm a die hard milwaukee guy, but dewalt did great with the gyro screwdriver!
I find myself in this boat. I can't stand the thought of bringing home an ugly yellow screwdriver to live with all my beautiful red tools, but Milwaukee has so far made this impossible to avoid by failing to produce a competitor :/
Project Farm has a new video up. Everything at home stops! My wife and I really enjoy your work and unbiased reviews. You have helped us to make good informed choices. Thanks
I have used the TECCPO for a couple years now at home. I only use it on electronics projects and smaller things around the house. It handles everything great and the bit selection has covered most things I've needed it for. The carrying case was a big selling point for me. I have full-size drills and impact drivers for bigger tasks. I rarely need to charge it. This screwdriver is a great bang for the buck tool.
Have had experience with many of these: Durability-wise Milwaukee definitely takes the cake as it will serve you even after YOU serve it through a wall, whereas the Bosch pushdrives tend to have all controls mushed up after even a few knocks. If you don't wanna invest a lot then Metabo or Dewalt have a good price-durability ratio
I absolutely love my desalt gyro, perfect for the RC hobby. Only regret is I wish I bought the one with pistol grip. But I will say I was gifted a black and decker 20 years ago and still works with the same set of AA batteries lol (definitely didn’t use it a lot but it works)
I bought the NoCry based off your recommendation and i can say hands down it is awesome. i can drive 4 inch deck screws with it, and the battery lasts for days.
No joke. I've been looking to get an inexpensive screwdriver for some small projects I want to do. Thanks for doing the legwork so I can determine which one is best for my application, Todd.
It's not the exact same, but if you're looking for an inexpensive all around tool, the Milwaukee 2462-20 on ebay is a winner. The 2407-20 is closer to what you're seeing here, as in better for delicate work like screwing in light switch covers or something and is also a compact champ... but it doesn't do nearly as good of an impression of a big boy 18v drill as the impact. That all to say, I wouldn't buy any of these things. The compact drills (2407) are close enough in size that they'll fit tight spaces 99% of the time these will while being far more versatile. And the 2462 does an amazing job being the 98% tool. I wouldn't use it to build a deck, it'd be too slow... but if I need to drive a 3.5 inch screw to mount a heavy duty ladder hanger, like I did this morning, it'll work just fine and fast enough. If you buy tool only on ebay, pick up 6ah m12 knockoff batteries and charger all separate... you can get high quality stuff on a budget.
Cannot thank you enough for your work! Not only are your videos very entertaining. Your videos are super informative and non bias. I love the scientific format you use with every test you do. Keep up the great work!
I really like the Worx design. They tend to come up with some interesting ideas of how to make tools more convenient. They might not have the best tools, but they seem to think a bit outside of the box which is refreshing.
I like seeing the different quirks of the tools. The Worx seems to have done well enough under the load tests as well as having handy features that I am sold on it
Have to agree with you. The Worx tools are definitely not the highest quality, but they are the most creative and user-friendly (especially for the light duty stuff). Based on the comments, that niche has been filled to perfection.
Wow the pistol style slide tool changing mechanism on the WORX is actually really cool. It's nice to see designers try something different and kinda fun.
A lot of folks have mentioned this but I might as well pipe up, too: after getting over the initial weirdness of the Dewalt I have become so used to it and the gyro control that anything with a forward/reverse button gets on my nerves. I have had mine for a couple years now and use it for everything. While I am here I want to thank you for all the effort you put into your review videos. They are honest and well-designed tests that I think are some of the most reliable reviews on the internet, not to mention entertaining to watch. Good work!
I am so glad to see you do this test. I need a portable stick type screwdriver for work. Something I can carry in my tool bag and yet has a long lasting battery and can go all day without recharging. They used to make a lot of these, dewalt made a high power one that a friend of mine uses, for 15 years now, It is so much faster than mine. I always threaten to steal it from him. Not sure any of these will match his, but going to get one.
The Skil is actually pretty slick for my job, its small enough to fit into the awkward spaces and I mainly utilize it for removing/installing mud rings and outlet covers/faceplates. It definitely can't handle anything with screws and hard materials but that is typically when the drill comes into play. Plus for how cheap it was I think it was worth the convenience. :)
Just ordered Makita screwdriver on Amazon. Though it's not in the very top of your test, it IS high enough. And now it's on 34% sale in Canada. Thank you for all great work you do!
I'm in the brass instrument repair industry and I have the DeWalt brand and the gyro makes it extremely ideal for working on valves. There's definitely a learning curve though.
i'm in the _guitar_ repair industry and just love my dewalt gyro! it's perfect for driving all sorts of screws slow and fast, small and large. the gyro thing quickly becomes so natural and intuitive that any other method seems awkward. i even have a pegwinder bit that i use in it for quickly changing strings
I've been using my dewalt everyday for about 4 years. Heavy use and long days as an electrician. Dropped it more times than I can count. What I put it through daily is a torture test. Never had a problem yet. With a little practice the gyroscope switch is great and I love it.
I have three of those no cry screwdrivers. I wanted variable speed and a clutch for working on RC cars and they've all been great. I had one that died about a month after I got it and they took care of me no questions asked. Great screwdriver and in my experience great customer support!
i know this is an old comment but if you want the best screwdriver for RC cars get the dewalt. been using one myself exclusively for RC cars for a while now and love it. they even have one with a clutch that wont strip out the tiniest of screws except for maybe 24th scale stuff. i use it for my b6.4, capra, kraton and lc12b1 and its perfect.
I really like the gyroscope feature of the Dewalt. I’ve used it extensively while working on RC cars. Once you learn to use it, it gives lots of control and power when needed. The battery pack lasts well longer than expected and charges quickly.

Thanks for sharing.
@@runslikeapenguin I have had similarly spotty experiences with Team Red's battery products

I really appreciate your editing. You cut it so tight; just pack it with great, well thought out/clever testing methodology.
So far, this is my only YT sub where I also ask for notifications. Always want to watch as soon as it's available! One of the best UA-camrs out there!
Thank you very much! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
I have the dealt gyro drive, and love it. I have been using it for over 2 years now, and is very impressive on power for it's size.
The gyroscopic drive takes a bit to get used to, but love that feature.
Great video, as always. Keep it up
Thanks, will do!
I get giddy with excitement everytime a new drop from you pops up in my notifications 🔔😅
Thank you very much!
Thanks, will do! Thanks for sharing!
I’m waiting on the “PF farm approved” rating on product packaging..😂😂
Thanks for sharing.
He doesn't usually give strong opinions outside of the casual "wow that did bad" or "wow that did better than expected"
I love it because like you said, he gives us the info to go ahead and choose for ourselves. We can compare each brand/model to find out which one suits our needs best.
Project Farm farm? Almost as bad as when people say ATM machine or PIN number.
He won’t ever sell out like that
I have the dewalt version with the clutch. I've used it for 2 years fixing rc cars. It gets abused and keeps on going. The gyro was weird at first but it's amazing now and can't live without it. I'm a die hard milwaukee guy, but dewalt did great with the gyro screwdriver!
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks
Awesome! Thank you both very much!!
Thanks Project Farm for your amazing quality as a human being.
Wow, thank you!
He provides yet another honest and simple test to understand with clear results
Keep up the great work bud👌🏻👌🏻🇬🇧
Thank you very much!
Thanks for the feedback.
O yeah.... best part of the day right here 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you very much!!
Considering the amount of time, money and effort Todd puts into these videos, he should earn whatever he wants and needs in life!
Thanks for the nice comment!
You provide an invaluable service to contractors everywhere. Thank you for all your hard work and ingenuity!
I appreciate that! Thanks!
Absolutely!!!
Thanks for the feedback.
"We're gonna test that" "
"Manufacturers hate him, see why tonight, on Project Farm"
lol. Great point!
"We're gonna test that" is like when My Mechanics says "I make a new one". That is to say, the catchphrase we forward to hearing in the video.
I'm a simple man, you upload a video, I watch it as soon as I see it. Honestly my favorite channel on youtube.
I absolutely love my desalt gyro, perfect for the RC hobby. Only regret is I wish I bought the one with pistol grip. But I will say I was gifted a black and decker 20 years ago and still works with the same set of AA batteries lol (definitely didn’t use it a lot but it works)
Yeah buddy I use my gyroscope Dewalt on my r.c.s definitely the bees knees
Pistol grip one also come with an adjustable clutch that the one tested does not. Would like to see a head to head comp of the two dewalts
@@24travmac That certainly is interesting.
Its DeWalt
I bought the NoCry based off your recommendation and i can say hands down it is awesome. i can drive 4 inch deck screws with it, and the battery lasts for days.
Thanks for the feedback.
No joke. I've been looking to get an inexpensive screwdriver for some small projects I want to do. Thanks for doing the legwork so I can determine which one is best for my application, Todd.
David, Awesome! I hope this video helps you narrow down the options. Some of them are A+++ products and very much worth buying. Have a great week!
Which one are you thinking of going with?
This was exactly what I needed! The only thing missing was battery duration. Thanks for making my choice much easier!
I love how you always get straight to the point and only say the important stuff. Very cool video!
Cannot thank you enough for your work! Not only are your videos very entertaining. Your videos are super informative and non bias. I love the scientific format you use with every test you do. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
Can we get a round of applause for Jim coming up with that list for us, in the video notes section! You the MVP Jim
Thanks!
I really like the Worx design. They tend to come up with some interesting ideas of how to make tools more convenient. They might not have the best tools, but they seem to think a bit outside of the box which is refreshing.
Thanks for the feedback.
I love my Worx semi automatic screwdriver.
Good work!
Thanks and you are welcome!
Thank you!

Manufacturer: 5 year warranty!
PF: kills a tool while making this video
We're gonna test that!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback.

Just ordered Makita screwdriver on Amazon. Though it's not in the very top of your test, it IS high enough. And now it's on 34% sale in Canada.
Thank you for all great work you do!
You are welcome! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, you are knocking on the door of 2,000,000 subscribers. It doesn't seem that long ago when you broke 100,000 subscribers.
Thanks!
I've been using my dewalt everyday for about 4 years. Heavy use and long days as an electrician. Dropped it more times than I can count. What I put it through daily is a torture test. Never had a problem yet. With a little practice the gyroscope switch is great and I love it.
Thanks for sharing.
I have three of those no cry screwdrivers. I wanted variable speed and a clutch for working on RC cars and they've all been great. I had one that died about a month after I got it and they took care of me no questions asked. Great screwdriver and in my experience great customer support!
Thanks for sharing.
i know this is an old comment but if you want the best screwdriver for RC cars get the dewalt. been using one myself exclusively for RC cars for a while now and love it. they even have one with a clutch that wont strip out the tiniest of screws except for maybe 24th scale stuff. i use it for my b6.4, capra, kraton and lc12b1 and its perfect.
I really like the gyroscope feature of the Dewalt. I’ve used it extensively while working on RC cars. Once you learn to use it, it gives lots of control and power when needed. The battery pack lasts well longer than expected and charges quickly.
