  • A Muv-Luv Medley | Photonflowers Review - Muv-Luv Photonflowers is one of two collections of short spinoff stories surrounding the Muv-Luv trilogy with the other being Photonmelodies. Photonflowers contains side stories for both Muv-Luv Extra and Muv-Luv Alternative, giving us a deeper look at the characters and events from both stories. But does it hold up? Let's find out.

The main thing i took from Photon Flowers is that Michuru is a fantastic character and her death hurts even more now...

The photon series was very fun to read through. It was hilarious and a good closure to this series.

Amazing review as always. Can't wait for the TDA review. That one is pretty close to alternative in terms of quality in my opinion. I will say though, I don't see what the problem is with Inheritance, though I suppose people with some context from KimiIta would enjoy it more than others.
    See you next time.

16:56 Haha I think you're the first person I've heard pronounce Tsukuyomi's name properly, vs 'Suki yomi'

The saucegate seem ssadly taught me to rage qquit that scenariio which sucks because Sumika, was my favorite girl. I did like the idea of the route that showeed thatt all relationships are NOT perfect after getting together but in addition to both of them getting really stupid att that point I actually thought Sumika quite a bit more in thee wroong. And like what yyou said there were somee inteeresting root relationshipp stufff that was built up towardss the beginning about talkative getting paranoidd about Sumika hanginng out with friendds but turned to somethinng else. I know that muv luv ultimately still has to bbe a mmix of goofy slice oof llife with some meloodrama but I just think they coould've done it bettter

I 100% agree. I think the Saucegate thing could have worked if they handled it better. I just can't get over how I genuinely believe both of them were in the wrong, but it was twisted into Takeru being the bad guy. Sumika had real concerns but was very bad about articulating them and Takeru understandably felt she was being unreasonable, but he would continually escalate the situation due to his ego.
I think the core issue Sumika had (Takeru not really taking the relationship seriously) was a legitimate one, but the fight could have been used as a way for them to try to forge a proper system of two-way communication.

I hated saucegate. Sumika was straight-up toxic, holding Takeru's feelings, the friend group, the class as a whole, and even Meiya hostage until Takeru worked himself to the bone, almost literally, just to get back in her good graces. She wants a give-and-take relationship rather than always providing for Takeru, which sounds reasonable enough, except they're both still students, going into college. What exactly is Takeru supposed to give? Now, if he dropped out of college and didn't get a job and Sumika were still taking care of him, then she would have good reason to blow up at him. Instead, he had literally just helped make dinner without being asked. He was already looking to "give" in that relationship. Takeru didn't really make things better by getting mad, but I also can't blame him for doing so. All of that mess made me lose all interest in what should've probably been a bittersweet scene, everyone's graduation. So Sumika is now worst girl. On a positive note, Kashiwagi is now best girl because of her performance in this story.

Another video where you write the script in a disjointed matter, and on emotions.
Imagine writing an Extra review without reading anything else, and right after the last ending you do. It's just weird, and doesn't hold up as well as an opinion which had time to boil in your head for at least a day or two.
This was especially visible with Inheritance which you covered last. It definitely didn't need those emotions, and you failed to consider the context of this story's release, as well as the fact that it's, essentially, building up for future content and acting as fan service for KimiIta fans. I mean, you could've realized that, if you didn't rush with the writing. I'm not saying that it's secretly amazing or anything, but it wasn't really trying to be anything more than it was.
Also, I believe that Chicken Divers could've used more elaboration, and you *almost* got it, but again, you didn't quite deliver because you rushed with the writing.
Your trilogy review was way better because you clearly had time to think before forming the script, which is definitely not the case here. I'd consider this a weaker review of yours. Still, looking forward to your thoughts on The Day After, just find Last Divers somewhere online to go along with it (read it before or after TDA03, but not earlier -- both ways work, they released simultaneously on one disk, it was just cut for the stand-alone Steam release)
