Love the spotlight on Valiant. I really do wish they would reprint their OHCs as there are a few stand alone stories I'd love to have in OHC but are OOP now and going for crazy after market prices.
X-O Unconquered was a lot of fun. Seems like the creative team really put effort in making a fun story. From the looks of it, Valiant has partnered with a creative studio to get books out more regularly. Happy to see them back.
I was a retailer in the 90s and attended some distributor conventions with Valiant people in attendance (where they gave presentations and spoke directly to retailers). If they had ever referred to him as “Ninja K”, I probably would have remembered it, because I always pronounced it “Ninjak”. A few years ago, they did do a series called Ninja-K. They gave us a reason for that specific name in the story, but ultimately I think they were just playing with words as a joke.
Surprised to see the X-O Manowar book out so soon - there were some major delays so the last issue just came out a few weeks ago. Looks gorgeous, I knew Liam Sharp would be a great fit for the character - will definitely be picking that up. Would have liked it in oversized but I'm just glad they're still putting out books lol. X-O Manowar was treated VERY well by the Valiant reboot. The Matt Kindt run is probably the best content they ever put out, really stylish, top-tier artists, complex writing. Sword-and-sorcery in space. Well worth tracking down.
Nice to see more Valiant coverage. Hopefully, they can get the original Valiant omnis that are OOP back in print like X-O Manowar. So is it pronounced Nin-Jack or Ninja-K? I seem to recall Jim Shooter saying when he briefly came back to help rebuild the Valiant universe behind the scenes, he made it "Ninja-K" and "K" was supposed to be the class of ninja he was... 🤔
There was an earlier series that had earlier versions of the training classes and they had different letters at the end so I think isn't supposed to be Ninja-K.
Glad to see Valiant reprints used appropriate paper stock without significant gloss like Marvel does, I really wish Marvel used this type of paper for their old comics collections, for me personally it would make a world of difference.
People say Ninka K because the later iterations of his series have shown him entering the British Ninja program as Ninja-K. Think 007 vs 006, or Weapon X being "Weapon 10", etc. I think Valiant was trying to find a grounded explanation for why they have a ninja character called Ninjak.
I feel pretty bad for Valiant Ent. They had some phenomenal deluxe HC's and it seems those are no longer gonna be reprinted. Nor new ones get made. Truly wish a better parent company owned them. Imagine if they joined Image or Dark Horse!!
The scans on that Ninjak (yes it is Nin Jack to me too) classic look pretty poor, they seem to have just photographed the comic pages (like that poor quality Alan Moore trade of his Supreme work). X-O Manowar, there was a classic hardback from old Valiant, which had the first 8 or so issues, I have that somewhere.
I had a bully in middle school, and his dad was in a wheelchair and was an alcoholic who would wander close to the school drunk. His mom would beat this kid mercilessly, to a point when I remember him showing the scars his mom left him to some of the other kids. My God this made me cry.
If only they could attract competent people in editorial and thus creative for these awesome characters. Outside of their artists, writers are lacking.
My Valiant is from the Shooter era, I even skipped the Acclaim era, because that was during my comic break. This is the first time I'm reading the new Ninjak and X-0 and both were awesome. In different ways. I enjoyed them more than the Book of Shadows (and I'm a Cullen Bunn fan).

I know, I am missing X-O vol 5 and it is crazy high price.
They're doing new collections of that material in beefy paperbacks.
As a big Valiant fan I am happy for this video. This universe is so underrated.
Agreed. From 2012 - 2017, Valiant were some of the best comics on the shelves. I hope Alien can bring back those glory days.
Absolutely. Hardly any one talks about the great Valiant era.
X-O Unconquered was a lot of fun. Seems like the creative team really put effort in making a fun story.

Looking forward to the X-0 and Eternal Warrior books.
Thanks so much brother, i had no ideas these were out!
That Ninjak books looks so good. The new one by Parker wow that art.

I was hopping for an OHC regarding X-Manowar.
Yeah Alien look like they dont know what they're doing...

There's something about Valiant that always piques my interest even if I haven't read a ton of the books.
Ninjak is what he goes by but Ninja-K is also his official codename.

I really really hope they reprint some of their OHCs in omnibus formats.
hey omar, do we need any prior reading to ninjak superkillers? have no idea about ninjak
Not at all.
WHY ARE THESE NOT OHC?!? 😢
Omar, do you have any connections with Valiant/Alien Comics? I was wondering if they are going to be continuing the Classic Valiant

Shame those hard covers are not over sized

@@NearMintConditionmy favorite Valiant was when Dinesh ran it. If you haven’t read that era, I highly recommend it.
@@addidasabbibi808 yes 2012-2017 Valiant is the better then the 90's. Dinesh made great things then.
