I truly wish they’d reprint all hardcovers from “modern” Valiant (since 2012 or whatever). Missed out on several volumes that look spectacular. Bloodshot, Ninjak, RAI, Eternal Warrior, X-O Manowar, etc etc.
Ahem. Early Valiant art was defined by Bart Sears, Barry Windsor Smith and Joe Quesada. Love their work. Absolute legends. Always loved the Valiant characters. X-O, Ninjak, Eternal Warrior, Shadowman, Doctor Mirage, Quantom and Woody, Bloodshot and Archer and Armstrong are faves.
I LOVED Valiant as a kid and Eternal Warrior, and Ivar the Time Walker where two of my fav's - hesitant to pick this up as we never seen a vol 2 to X-O Manowar which I did pick up awhile back. Missed out on the Archer & Armstrong omnibus maybe they will reprint ?
Oooooooh! I gave up Marvel, during this period and went all in on the Valiant line, before falling out of comics altogether, during the time of gimmick covers, but am totally in on revisiting this line and picking up where I left off (at least before the Acclaim years). Seeing Solar in those pages makes me happy, as it looks like they have the licence to use the Gold Key characters and would love omni's of Magnus, Solar and Turok.
Only if they're in the issue for another character. They can't do omnis of Solar, Magnus and Turok yet. Support the Alien stuff they will get those characters back.
Getting both the Archer & Armstrong and the Eternal Warrior books. Here's hoping they do a second Eternal Warrior omnibus, issues 27-50 were written by John Ostrander! Also hoping for a tpb collecting that Solar series from Shooter and BWS that kicked off this whole universe.
I have the A&A omnibus but wondering if they are going to keep going with the TPB Classic line. I like the Marvel Epics and these would be great if they the same.
Hoping for more Classic Valiant omnibuses and reprints of the first ones they released ... though it looks like they might be sticking with the classic trade paperbacks for now. Ah well.
I've bought both Eternal Warrior Omni and Book of Shadows. I'm happy someone is keeping the line alive, but it would have better more pleasant to eye if they had not felt the urge to change format entirely. The previous editions (dozens and dozens of them) are all OHCs with dustjackets, with the exception of just a few standard HCs for Classic 90's reprints, which had dustjackets too.
Omar, I was very suprised that you didn't mention that while all the other Valiant Omnis had dust jackets, Eternal Warrior did not. In fact, mine wasn't shrink wrapped either. At first I thought it had been opened, but since the ISBN is literally printed on the cover, I deduced that's likely just how it came. Looks a little odd on the shelf beside the other released Omnis, but at the very least, the spine matches.
That cover for the ETERNAL WARRIOR omni is lovely, but really… Barry Windsor Smith only does three issues (#6-8) and that’s it (okay, he does two pages on issue #1). The ARCHER & ARMSTRONG omni might be a better buy if you like BWS (he does 10 out of the first 12 issues)
@yunoyuluvit Yes. I saw that after I watched the video. Its a shame that I missed the A&A Omnibus. Tbh, Omni's and Absolutes are all that I buy these days. Thanks for letting me know.
I’ve been intrigued by Shadow man since they released that classic omnibus. Didn’t pick it up. Regret it now. But it seems cool despite knowing little about it. Did they make a movie in the 90s maybe late 80s or something? I have a faint memory of a shadow man movie. Is that the same IP?
The Bob Hall Shadowman was probably my favourite of the classic Valiant line. The Shadow Man movie wasn't related to any of the Valiant characters bearing the name.
I got the Eternal Warrior omnibus but mine was weird cause the ribbon didn't go all the way down. It looks like glued binding on the bottom but there is a ribbon on the top. Very confusing.
I'm getting the death of ultimate Spider-man omnibus soon, I just saw there's an ultimate Spider-man omnibus volume 4 coming out in August. Which order do they go in? I'm guessing volume 4 comes before the death omnibus. If so, why did they release them in this order? Off topic from the books you were talking about, soz.
Collecting Valiant while I was 14-16 years old was pure magic✨✨✨
The wait for Eternal Warrior has been... eternal 😂
Love that Valiant coverage. Book of Shadows is awesome. Looks great on my shelf. I wish it was OHC though.

Thanks for the review! Great to see some quality Valiant content on youtube.
Just ordered Archer & Armstrong - thank you for the rec. Absolutely love the "buddy cop" format of storytelling.
Do you think you'll read your 2012 reboot Valiant books?
Book of Shadows, definitely. Bunn can do no wrong, and the art is gorgeous. 😍

I've never heard of any of these titles, but they have my attention.
I was wondering if you would do an overview of the Eternal Warrior Omnibus.
Valiant was great in the 90s, when Dinesh relaunched the company they did great, then it went downhill.
Waiting on that OG #0-25 Harbinger run
did you check the charltons reprint comic books? At A🖐😮🤚 going out of print fast!

Are they going to release more Valiant Classics as TPB’s?
Ninjak Classic is next!

I hope they do omnis of the 2012 Valiant series. Now would be a great time.

I didn’t have any of them to compare them to. Otherwise I would have.
@@NearMintCondition ahh okay. Fair enough. I naturally assumed you had them. And why wouldn't I? Lol.
Hahahaha good point.
Wait, Omar, dont the other Valiant Omnis have dust jackets?

Will there be an Archer & Armstrong Omnibus?
There already had been one, along with several others. I had no idea, until now. Unfortunately, it looks like a lot are out of print

Is this the best comic to read regarding werewolves?
Eternal Warrior overview released eerily close to Omnidog's. The beef is real!
Valiant a valid alternative to marvel and dc
