I came across Valiant as a kid and it never let me go. Addictive stories and characters and even though I’ve stopped collecting and reading every other publisher I can’t get Valiant out of my system. Some of my favorite stories and characters I’ve ever read. Loved your passion in the video, it was great thanks
Mike - I can’t say it enough. Your videos are very intriguing. Two things you do good 1) showcasing variety of comics/characters/publishers in a selective way without losing authenticity 2) explaining the history of characters and giving the readers a clear path to start enjoying them. Keep it going! Look forward to seeing more videos like these. Also, where do you get your books from? Any recommendations?
Thank you for the kind words! I love comics and I’m glad it translates in the videos 🙂 I buy my books from Amazon typically, with an occasional instocktrades haul if I’m travelling by car to the US!
I appreciate this overview so much. I have heard so many great reviews of this Universe but was always intimidated by its size and didn't know where to start. Thank you!
Mike just what I needed, great overview. Reading X-O Manowar right now because of you and will dive into some of the other series you mentioned next. Cheers.
Fun fact: there's a heavy metal band named A Sound of Thunder that has a whole album dedicated to Shadowman called Tales From The Deadside. If you're into an old school metal sound like Judas Priest or Black Sabbath, you'd dig it. They also wrote a song for Rai.
I just got into this publisher about 6 months ago and I have been loving these characters. Great video, it’s good to see Valiant get some well deserved love.
Thanks Nice overview Heard about valiant and Wanted to try and read some of them but i was lost as it is not so easy to find and hear about that some other comics
Mike - this is the third time me rewatching your Valiant Universe video! It made me go ahead and buy multiple Valiant books. You are that good. Can you do more reading orders of Valiant Universe? especially the cross overs. Harbinger story maybe. Would love to see more videos about other comics publishers please. Thanks again!
Really cool shizz Mike! Thanks for this great content dude.. perfect timing for me after just picking up my first Valiant comic last week.. 15 issues into Venditti's X-O and read Divinity I so far
This is awesome, thanks Mike! Looks fantastic. Definitely gonna pick up the $60 USB drive of all the rebooted comics and jump into the Valiant Universe soon.
I used to have all the 90s series. If only I hadn't lost them in one of the past 15 years of chronic homelessness caused by how amazing an economic model aiming for infinite growth with finite resources is for the betterment of society!
Valiant is an underrated Comic Book Company with such unique set of characters and universe I truelly loved the 90s originals, I haven't jumped in on the 2012 reboots but hopefully I'll track it down later on in the future... Also when are we gonna see Turok back in Comic Book Action come on Valiant 😉
Man, Mike! U make a very compelling case for the VALIANT Universe! I've liked ur previous vids on BLOODSHOT(the title I think I'd maybe like most); but these others sound intriguing too. And the *talent*! Writers like: Christos Gage(AREA 10 > a masterful suspense/horror OGN from the short-lived "Vertigo Crime" label), Duane Swierczynski(X > the awesomely brutal "Dark Horse" 6-volume reboot!), & Jeff Lemire(wonderfully weird& creepy GIDEON FALLS!)... & artists like: Lewis LaRosa(the viscious, spectacular story that kicked off THE PUNISHER[MAX] series: IN THE BEGINNING), Clayton Crain(the dark-but-humorous, beautifully digitally painted GHOST RIDER: ROAD TO DAMNATION & TRAIL OF TEARS), Cary Nord(my favorite-- & the original-- artist from the "Dark Horse" CONAN series, in which he only penciled[no inks] w/the impeccable Dave Stewart coloring it w/a painted style that sort of made me think of the legendary Frank Frazetta), & Paulo Riveira(incredible artist w/gorgeous & fun artwork on some of the HELLBOY & THE B.P.R.D. stories), just to name a very small few! If I had the $$ & weren't already swamped w/a ton of fun ogns/trades/HCs/etc to still read, I would for sure try to get into this world! Maybe someday🙄! Great video, man! U went in-depth in an informative & enthusiastic way! I LUV that about u! Ur passion for comics! Thanx! 😊👍🏻👍🏻
So is all the stuff pre-2012 not really part of the story then? Just getting in to Valiant and wondering what the significance is of the older stuff pre-revival of the V-universe.
You really know your stuff. Your reviews make it so easy to follow. Which series is your favorite? It is pretty awesome how the whole universe is nicely connected within each character.
@@TheHardcoverComic I just found out about this! www.valiantstore.com/valiant-complete-digital-comic-book-collection.html Would you say it's worth it, and maybe get hardcovers later?
Well done coverage of the entire Valiant Universe. DC has my long-time favorite characters but I consider Valiant as having the best, most well-rounded universe in comics. Not all are fantastic, but all of the major genres are covered... great stuff.

Shadowman and Bloodshot are my favorite. I like the 90s Shadowman and Bloodshot as well as the reboot stuff.
Valiant has the best artists in the industry
This video has waaaay to few views! This was actually really great. I honestly love your love for the universe. Thanks a lot!
This channel is criminally underrated, it deserves more. 👍
I was thinking of getting into valiant and this video was very informative. Thanks.
I appreciate this overview so much. I have heard so many great reviews of this Universe but was always intimidated by its size and didn't know where to start. Thank you!
This was really cool dude. Thank you. Might have to get into them all
I was already about ready to hop on the valiant train and I’m scared this going to get me to go all in lol
Awesome video.
Gives me plenty of options where to start in the Valiant Universe.

Excellent overview of their universe, sir! I was looking for something like that, this will be my guide into the Valiant world. Thank you!
Great roundup and intro! Have you checked out Dysart’s short Swamp Thing run? Pretty dope
Thanks

"No one really likes Peter."
It's true. You freaking nailed it, man.
Thanks for doing this review. I really appreciate it!
Interesting video I never read Valiant actually
Britannia and Divinity sound like the ones I need to grab.
Hi Mike, I'm gonna juml into the Valiant universe from the Wrath of The Eternal Warrior. Can I go blindly into it?
Was wondering if there is a discord servers to chat about Valiant comics? I just started getting into the comics and they are awesome.

I hate the video you recommended Rai. I fkn don't think I've loved a book this much. Now this video! I'm gonna go broke. Man I feel so excited

Gotta get into these
If anyone can find me a Bloodshot Reborn vol 2 at a reasonable price....only one i missing!!
Great intro! I’d love to see a reading order vid from you.
What kind of bookshelves are those?
Where did you get the Harbinger Renegade and Gen Zero hardcovers? We’re those official releases or did you get those custom made?
Wyatt Cloinger They are custom made! No word on official releases for either series

Which series is your favorite?
It is pretty awesome how the whole universe is nicely connected within each character.
Man. Can you do a suggested reading guide for valiant? I wanna start reading valiant after this, and want to know the roadmap!

Feel like I'll never get to own xo vol 5😢 or bloodshot reborn vol 2

Hell yea bro they need to just make absolute versions consolidating the titles.
That would be really nice!
What bookshelf do you use ?
Guadalupe Diaz Bestä from Ikea!
@@TheHardcoverComic Thank You kind sir
Talk about Dr Solar man of the atom
Is Solar too op for Valiant?
God Valiant was so good until Dinesh was ousted...I can’t bring myself to read any of it now because it hurts too much
Can you just read one of the characters, or do you need to read it all.
You can just read one.
Everything is so dull I'm done reading so called realistic comics I mean realistic really?
