I have some advice! Be prepared for the class, which means the time every activity will take, all the unknown words or doubts students might have and different ways/examples to explain the topic so everything is easy to understand
Such great comments from the community! 🥰 Stay focused on helping students and enjoy the experiences... We only get one first time to teach so have fun!
Love these. One thing that always amazes me is how creators like us can make the same video with totally different ideas. Great job. I love the transitions and how you get straight to the point.
Yup! Same ideas but different final product. I like the way you do many of your videos. 😄 It makes the world more interesting and adds variety to the viewers looking for ideas.
I am teaching English in Vietnam as a part time job aiming to develop an online English school. Thank you so much. In fact, I find easy to teach or run my "business" when applying your tips. It really works. I keep watching your videos before teaching my students.
Write numbers, names ,dates and some ticks and crosses for yes and no. Students guess the sentences they belong to. For example a tick,”You’re married.” Make it a competition for how many correct, or correct English, or a written exercise as a diagnostic or to practice the language.
Hi Eric. Thanks a lot for the great suggestion. The information were clear and concise. Your explanations along with the examples made things much easier to understand. Best regards!
These ice breakers are AMAZIIIIING. Thank you so much for this valuable information, i am really happy you made this video because it just saved my life 😂 thank you so much for all the wonderful info you provide and keep up the good work. Best wishes to you from Algeria. 💚
Wow,,thanks so much eric, will be starting my teaching career on monday and i feel like am well equipped😊😊,however if my lesson lasts for 40 minutes what i can do to ensure that i balance both delivering the content and doing ice breaking activities?
Hi Electine - you'll want to break the class into chunks - do icebreaker, then teach concept or grammar, practice with students, give them activity to practice, feedback: students share what they've learned, play game to check understanding. I hope this helps!
Thank you Eric. As always, great ideas ! I'm looking forward to do these icebreakers with my students. Do you think you could share with us the M&M's game's picture you use for the topics ?
Really great and useful ideas, Eric! Thanks for sharing them 🙏🏻 I advise your videos whenever I can, as I'm no longer concerned... Brigitte F. from the CB
I hope you can make a video to talk about how to teach English grammar to kids. I’m quite confused that which way to teach it easily and effectively for kids. Because they’re too young to get a wide range of complicated grammar.
My plan is to make an entire series on teaching grammar next year. I'm still working on it and will require a lot of time. But I hope once it's done it can help a lot of teachers out there. 🙏
I'll definitely look it up. It sounds like a much needed video. I'm a bit busy on other videos that I have planned but will get to it in the next phase of planning! 😃
Thank you very much. Last year I used your activities about the first day of class and these activities were really helpful for me and exciting for my students. I am gonna use your new suggestions this year too 💕💕
Assalomu alaykum. Haliyam teaching qilyapsiz degan umiddaman. I need your help. Men ham ertaga briinchi darsimni o'taman that's why can you share your exprience plsssss❤❤
For young learners try the M&M game. You'll have to buy a few small packets per group of learners ~ but they enjoy it. For older students I let them interview, and introduce a partner. 😄
I understand, Saniyat. This is especially difficult for students that are either really short or tall, and other students might tease them about it. But what should we do? We won't always be there to shield them from bad feelings. Instead we should see it as a teaching opportunity - explain to students that making fun of it may be hurtful, also help the student take control and improve their self image by teaching strategies to deal with it. 😄
Hi Ash! I have done some videos in the past with students. For some of my videos, it's just difficult to find students that I'm allowed to film with. I'll try to show some more practical examples in the future!
Hello Etacude, I like the presentation of your UA-cam channel! Do you know any interaction networks for teachers with live discussions about teaching? I recently started coaching and mentoring young adults and would like to share my experiences to learn new things myself.

A lot of things can't be made with ordinary classes where students have to remain seated, but I picked up the few that fit, thanks !
This is my favourite step that I always start by before any lesson just to get my learners involved and attracted.peace from Algeria 😊😊😊🇩🇿
Good job Sheen Woo!

Hey, I hope you have a great day! I have a question please. What are some tips to break the ice if we're teaching one individual?
Write numbers, names ,dates and some ticks and crosses for yes and no. Students guess the sentences they belong to. For example a tick,”You’re married.” Make it a competition for how many correct, or correct English, or a written exercise as a diagnostic or to practice the language.

Never put the students in lines according to their height. This may trigger some insecurities.

😍😍😍
Honestly, maybe some of your viewer dont need explanation, they need a simulation.
