I still remember the first time I finished the story, goosebumps all over my body on the death scene of Andrew Ryan. Shyt blew my mind with the "would you kindly" by Atlas.
"Choosing to drain less of it means you're going to be less powerful in the long run." You actually get more ADAM over the course of the game by sparing them because of the gift system. Harvest or Rescue is a ridiculous false choice because even from a gameplay perspective there is no reason to Harvest any of them. Also, one huge problem with the game is that diversity is also a false choice. You can choose to play the game how you want, but the reality is that you're just making the game much harder on yourself if you do. The fact that there is one character setup which is so overpowered that it puts everything else in the game to shame means that not choosing it basically means voluntarily making the game incredibly difficult.
shunkwugga Pretty sure you still end up with less total if you rescue. The gifts aren't enough to completely compensate, though you do get some other unique plasmids.
shunkwugga About character setups: The player isn't supposed to know the meta of which setups are best overall, right? That means that the choice isn't really a difficulty pick; it's a preference of combat style. Sure, for speedruns and/or completioning, knowing the meta is better, but not from a a casual run's perspective. What I mean is, the diversity is real, but you can choose to go meta.
***** From a casual run's perspective, experimenting with everything will still lead you to go to the one most effective method of dealing with enemies, which is "use electro shock, hit with wrench." In dealing with Big Daddies, it's "set up trap bolts, make them run through them."
I'll preface my remarks with: I am a huge fan of the channel. Nevertheless, in this episode (in addition to the subpar, and inaccurate "Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin" show) Jirard just makes factious claims. Maybe in these earlier episodes he did not have editors? Jirard is just flat out wrong from 16:38 to 16:50 when he erroneously claims that the game is: "A completionist nightmare." You do not have to finish the game multiple times to get all the achievements or trophies, as he incorrectly proclaims. If you save, rather than harvest all the little sisters, you get both "Dealt with Every Little Sister," and "Little Sister Savior" in one go. Being that his name sake is: "The Completionist," you would think he would get that bit right about a game. Further, did he really claim that the story was "generic?" Was he playing a different game?
Really confusing episode. He also mentioned feeling empty because there are no "finished the game" achievements but there are tons of those for every difficulty. Also the narrative is one of greatest stories ever told via video games calling it generic is retarded. I'm guessing he wasn't paying attention
Late reply, bit this super bugged me when he said you get less in the long run by saving the little sisters....like no mention of the gift packs full of adam along with unique plasmids that at the end of the game you have either the same or maybe 50 adams worth difference between pacifist vs genocide.....
Hi, Jirard! I'd just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing up to Indy PopCon. I was overjoyed to see you on the guest list, knowing you're from across the US. It meant the world to me that you signed my SNES and took a picture with me. Otherwise, great work on this episode as always. :)
You say ps3. But it was originally supposed to be exclusive to the xbox 360. But i still find myself playing this over and over again, even given the survivor difficulty in special versions and the remastered i loved it.
A classic and piece of art in so many ways. 2 was a bit lacking in the Bioshock feel but Infinite came back even stronger perhaps. Still what a great series led by a great director in Ken Levine.
I was drawing, and when you said when else have we had someone named Jack go underwater, I looked over and saw Pirates of the Caribbean, and I thought they meant Titanic.
Oh Tales from the Crypt The anticipation leading up to the guy popping out during the intro really got to me as a kid. It's one of my earliest thrills from something scary I can remember.
Here in the year 2020 I must say... Big of Jirard to pick his battles 'WITH DISNEY' but he won't touch Universal Studio's Jurassic Park. Disney basically wrote the copyright laws it beats people to death with.
Memories of setting up a bunch of trip wires and aggro-ing a big daddy to make him lunge toward u n insta die & rag doll through the wires…. Or putting a bunch of prox mines on a gas tank n telekinesis that death trap into a big daddy. Good times had by all

I would've never known all that without watching this vid- so thanks! Would I kindly favorite this Completionist vid you say? Yes, yes I would so kindly.
Hey Jirard, if you do Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite will you do the DLC episodes in separate videos? Also can't wait until you do the sequels. Personally I think Bioshock 2 gets a bad rap. Sure it sure as hell ain't the first game but it's still fun (though I still want a survivor mode).
Thank you! I personally still loved the second game. Maybe not quite as much as the first, but more than infinite (I just don't like the setting or the convoluted plot as much...)
I love the filthy animals reference. Nd I will never forget the terror of 11year old me when the first 30 minutes of the game started with only a wrench fighting things I have never seen before. I still get chills
i think the torrents in this place are great also to the story, this place have no police or laws against theft so people use machines to protect their values.

What a dumb comment you made, you should feel really bad about yourself. I would suggest thinking for, at least 30 seconds, before you make a comment in the future. Critical thinking is not your strong suit Lol.
FaceRip ....Yes. Which is what Jirard did. I'm surprised you're asking me about critical thinking when I'm pretty sure you've hurt yourself in the process of posting all 3 of your comments. Because apparently. Your wittle feefees take precedence over fact. It doesn't matter what you *feel*, your feelings mean nothing. Also. You fucked up your comment. "You don't have to harvest every single last one to get the good ending. You can harvest one and still get it." What it should have said was "You don't have to spare every single last one to get the good ending." So. Obviously. You didn't play the game and have no idea what you're talking about....
You used the word juxtaposition, that makes me so happy. I love that word. Also, great video, now I wanna go back and play this series. Thanks for the video.
who the fuck is Alexander Ryan? sometimes I wonder if you actually play these games. ANDREW Ryan's name is said so frequently in the game that you couldn't possibly get it wrong!
That's from the DLC , there are three optional challenges. Off the top of my head one is titled "The I in Team" ; World Of Hurts is another; the third title escaoes me at the moment. Just google Bioshock DLC for the info.
These videos are slowly starting to try too hard to joke, to the point where it's becoming an inaccurate representation of the game. As someone who's played and loved BioShock, I know where the gameplay footage ends and the added jokes begin. But for someone who's never played the game, these idiotic jokes could turn them away from something they might have an interest in. Really bugs me.
I would agree with everything he said, except for gameplay. Gameplay is awful. It may be passable for a console FPS, but it's this at best - "passable". Enemies are bullet spongy and don't react much to your bullets hitting them, gunplay feels sluggish, weak and unsatisfying, plasmids may as well not be available to the player since they're utterly ineffective and pointless for the most of the time. And "RPG elements", really? I hope you're not referring to plasmids since those are just alternative set of weapons with fancy skins, not skills and feats. There's not a single RPG element.
How about, instead of "the combat is terrible" you could say, "I THINK the combat is terrible." Just cause you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad. It's your opinion, not a fact. You literally have millions of people who would argue against your point.
Yeah, and millions of people will: defend current generation of consoles, say that platform exclusivity is a positive thing, defend pre-order culture and say that 30fps is objectively better. But that doesn't make any of those statements true. People can be morons so just because bunch of people says something doesn't mean it's true. And gameplay of Bioshock is objectively bad. If it was first FPS ever made - it wouldn't be, but with that many examples of good gameplay it's absolutely fair to call it what it is - terrible gameplay.
Nemo Nekoi I don't even like the original Bioshock that much, never finished it. But it's very rare you can use the term "Objectively bad" or "Objectively good" and be correct in doing so.
I really enjoyed Bioshock (even though I'm one of those people who actually found it scary). I liked the setting and narrative, and I really enjoyed the objectivism theme throughout it. And the way it all comes together at the end was interesting. I saw the Ryan/Jack connection coming, but the hypnosis was certainly a surprise. What I also really liked which you didn't really talk about was the set pieces. The splicers and their creepy narratives, the first intro to the Big Daddies, the sudden changes to the environment- that for me was really awesome and kept you on your toes.
Bobby Hill Better graphics =/= Better game. I put Bioshock Infinite and Duke Nukem Forever in the same pile; Sequels the entirely miss the point of the established games in both narrative and especially gameplay. But as long as people buy them they will continue shipping out half-baked CoD clones.
KaZ Neosis The story was a whole lot better. The only good thing about bioshock one was everything not involving the main character. I didn't give a shit about jack in 1 but in booker I actually liked him. Bioshock 1 is good I just think infinite is better. And no shit better graphics doesn't equal a better game look at assassins creed
That skeleton thing from that Tales from the Crypt thing is scary, and this is the first time I've seen it. It's OK to still be afraid. There's a film from my early childhood which I was terrified of and still haunts me and a lot of people who got genuinely scared by FNAF had childhood fears of animatronic animals.
You're not alone Jirard! I LOVE the pirate "trilogy" and consider them among my favorite movies of all time! Captain Jack Sparrow is imo Johnny Depp's greatest character he's ever played.

Also "uni-bated" instead of unabated... since we're being padintic. 2:27
Also at one point he says Alexander Ryan.
And "disenfranchised" (to lose the right to vote) when he meant "disenchanted" (to become cynical). Lesson here kids, get an editor to review your scripts before your complete your videos.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. Not only do I love the story and art direction of this game, but this game introduced me to Ayn Rand's philosophy and has changed my life for the better.
10:37 Who's Alexander Ryan? :P
Andrew Ryan
He was originally from Russia and changed his name to Andrew when he got to America it seems
subpar 1224 His birth name was Andrei, which is nowhere near Alexander.
Jirard pls, I haven't seen Pirates 2 yet ;_;
Haedox what why ? Netflix , piracy , dvd there are a lot of options.....
Haedox It's not really a spoiler.
masters5312 haha piracy. I see what you did there!
MrNintendo505 If you have over 1000 subs, you get highlighted by UA-cam's comment system.
Haedox What are you talking about? Those scenes were "totally" photo shopped.
has this little fish had his cherry popped?
Not until Decembe- oh wait I tried no nut december
Nope. But He has light coming from his belly
“I ain’t messing around with no Big Daddy!”
I still remember the first time I finished the story, goosebumps all over my body on the death scene of Andrew Ryan. Shyt blew my mind with the "would you kindly" by Atlas.
“Look Mr. bubbles, an angel!”
That starred off my love of this game. And my absolute terror.
Wow you found a whole new character... Alexander Ryan

But only if it's 1 or 2. 3 sucks and New Vegas is meh.
The_Bald_Eagle from what I've heard, 3 and New Vegas are praised. And I LOVE 3
Edgy unpopular opinion is edgy
How in the fuck is 3 or new Vegas sucky
***** he's just a contrarian don't pay attention to him. 3 and new vegas are great -- in a different way than 1 and 2 -- but still great
"Choosing to drain less of it means you're going to be less powerful in the long run."
You actually get more ADAM over the course of the game by sparing them because of the gift system.
Applemangh They actually do. The gifts give you a little more ADAM by the end of the game and it's not like you even need that much anyway.
shunkwugga
Are those the only effective methods, or are any other setups straight up ineffective?
No, you're not alone in loving the PotC movies. I love them, as well!
Just got randomly recommended this and I had forgotten just how good the Bearddaddy art is. That's all.
“When was the last time you saw a character names “Jack” go underwater to start their journey.” Damn…I was sure he was going for “Titanic” 🤣
Jack from Titanics underwater journey ended at the surface
Bioshock 2 is more my jam. I LOVE the more personalized story and just being a bamf Big Daddy.
MC Kappa I knew there had to be others!
MC Kappa Minerva's Den DLC is better than the main campaign
I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt!
Just got the Platinum on the PS4 in a couple of days, not a completionist nightmare.
Holy crap, that Candle Jack clip at the end was amazing. I love that "I'm gonna need some more rope" bit from Freakazoid!
Thanks for reminding me about this gem of a game, going back to pick it up
A character named jack that goes underwater to stared his adventure
- that one video gamer
When he said the thing about Jack in the ocean, i thought inmediatly in titanic
You say ps3. But it was originally supposed to be exclusive to the xbox 360. But i still find myself playing this over and over again, even given the survivor difficulty in special versions and the remastered i loved it.
Bioshock is the kind of game where you have to play it all the way through in one go. whenever I take a break im hella lost when I come back.
Bioshock is one the best game series I have ever played alongside fallout they are my favorites and the best.
Me: accidentally harvests a little sister (I was trying to reload)
My good side: it's rewind time
It's ok it happens.
I harvested every last one....I'm a horrible person.
I did one on accident and got pissed cuz I wanted the achievement
Khp13sU-L I played the game twice to get both achievements
There was a jumpscare when a room went foggy and you turn around and this guy comes out of nowhere
That audio diary of a young Jack killing the puppy is still chilling to this day.
"im going to need more rope"
*scream*
lmao
A classic and piece of art in so many ways. 2 was a bit lacking in the Bioshock feel but Infinite came back even stronger perhaps. Still what a great series led by a great director in Ken Levine.
I was drawing, and when you said when else have we had someone named Jack go underwater, I looked over and saw Pirates of the Caribbean, and I thought they meant Titanic.
Oh Tales from the Crypt
The anticipation leading up to the guy popping out during the intro really got to me as a kid.
Do Bioshock 2 and/or Infinite!
BUT BEARDMAN!! I'll never let him go.......
I really would love to see a Bioshock Movie
It would be incredibly expensive to make
@@MissiGNO000 but worth it

The best Completionist vid yet! I loved Bioshock, but I'm surprised at how much I missed. I didn't realize plasmids were made from tiny undersea organisms, and that the guy you beat with the golf club was actually Jack's dad?! I would've never known all that without watching this vid- so thanks! Would I kindly favorite this Completionist vid you say? Yes, yes I would so kindly.
Great video, but Jirard... I cringed at "Kevin Levine".
His name's Ken.
I enjoyed all the Pirate movies, they are all good fun.
Clint McKee I did too, really good popcorn movies, cannot wait for for the 5th one.

Except when they aren't.
10:40 realy?... Alexander Ryan it's Andrew Ryan
My favourite game/game franchise. Been waiting a while for this episode of the completionist.
This might be my favorite completionist you've done. I really enjoyed that!
Would you kindly complete Bioshock 2?
Hey Jirard, if you do Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite will you do the DLC episodes in separate videos? Also can't wait until you do the sequels. Personally I think Bioshock 2 gets a bad rap. Sure it sure as hell ain't the first game but it's still fun (though I still want a survivor mode).
Thank you! I personally still loved the second game. Maybe not quite as much as the first, but more than infinite (I just don't like the setting or the convoluted plot as much...)
+Gaming Templar yeah they really tried but it lacks fear and a interesting villain
I don't mean that sarcastically, they did improve things the sequel like hacking
Yeah Jirard, would you kindly do the sequels
I loved Bioshock 2 a bit more than the first one and it's a bit sad to see it barely get mentioned and outright hated
oh i just love this game, also i love the good ending for this game :)
Finally someone else who does!
The good ending is underrated; maybe a bit too fast, but definitely beautiful.
Sasy Ryan while the I like the good ending, I think the sequel had better endings.
pepper Mill I love both.
Kid: "My Dad's a fireman!"
Another Kid: "Ha! My dad's a cop that busted a drug den!"
Little Sister: "My dad can shoot lightning out of his hands and went through an entire city filled with super agile drug addicts and also killed several roided up divers!"
Stop trying to make everything a meme. If you cant comment like a human being don't comment at all.

"Alexander Ryan"
when will u do the all star pack?!?!!?
This honestly may be the best game of my generation.
It’s weird how he knew that Big Daddies were people in this review, but forgot this in Bioshock 2.
Bioshock 2?
BioShock 2 wasn't very good 😕
+Angelos Comis ....So?
+Rygami375 I don't think he would review that game (sometimes he reviews bad games as a joke) all though I'm not saying he won't do it just in my opinion I don't think he'll do it.
+Angelos Comis .....So why are you telling me this?
+Rygami375 just my opinion

Also, you're wrong about what you said about the little sisters. You don't have to harvest every single last one to get the good ending. You can harvest one and still get it. Idk man, his reviews always seem lacking to me, like he didn't actually play these games to completion but had someone else do it. Anybody who invested the amount of time it takes to complete one of these games would have SO much other stuff they'd probably like to mention. It feels like a lie and a rip-off to me.
He also called Andrew Ryan 'Alexander Ryan' at one point.
The Atomic Cherry I didn't notice that one, good catch. I hope whoever that poor intern is that played this game 100% at least enjoyed the story and the combat.
Yes...because flubbing a couple names mean you haven't played the game....
***** There's playing a game, and then there's 100% *EVERY TROPHY* in a game. I'd say it's like the difference between watching the first episode of "The Sopranos" and watching ALL episodes, every season. Which one of those 2 guys do you want the opinion of?
You can harvest one and still get it." What it should have said was "You don't have to spare every single last one to get the good ending."
So. Obviously. You didn't play the game and have no idea what you're talking about....
I liked the article angle adding to this topic. This game and series actually was pretty fascinating to experience
Kevin Levine
Alexander ryan
Oy vey
Ngl, this vid is kinda lackluster, it's not bad, but it's not good either
He spent like a minute talking about the challenge rooms, which are the hardest part to complete. Most of the vid was a recap of the plot
Tf is that room at 4:29? I've never seen that room and I've replayed Bioshock hundreds of times
That's from the DLC , there are three optional challenges.
Off the top of my head one is titled "The I in Team" ; World Of Hurts is another; the third title escaoes me at the moment.
Just google Bioshock DLC for the info.
A video made on my birthday about one of my favourite games.fantastic.
ALEXANDER Ryan? Ehh?
Objectively bad.
I weep for you.
It's my line. If you think it's not objectively bad you've probably never played game with good gameplay.
Nemo Nekoi I don't even like the original Bioshock that much, never finished it. But it's very rare you can use the term "Objectively bad" or "Objectively good" and be correct in doing so.
3:05 The definition of "living on the edge"
I really enjoyed Bioshock (even though I'm one of those people who actually found it scary). I liked the setting and narrative, and I really enjoyed the objectivism theme throughout it. And the way it all comes together at the end was interesting. I saw the Ryan/Jack connection coming, but the hypnosis was certainly a surprise. What I also really liked which you didn't really talk about was the set pieces. The splicers and their creepy narratives, the first intro to the Big Daddies, the sudden changes to the environment- that for me was really awesome and kept you on your toes.
Bioshock 2 is still better. Come at me.
No, I agree Bioshock 2 is my favorite from the series
darkabysskiller it has better combat and mechanics but less story and the like.
i find it better too.
Infinite is the best. Story wise. AND GAMEPLAY COME AT ME
Yeah but I like Fontaine a lot more than Lamb
Miguel Rodriguez Agree to that
Playing Bioshock 1&2 again only validated how much I hate Infinite.
I finally played all three just a bit ago
Infinite is so fucking lazy and awful
Galacta1310 Infinite is literally the best one tf you people smoking
Bobby Hill Yeah, I love Bioshock 2, but the story is much to be desired, a good companion piece to Bioshock 1, but not too good on it's own merits
Love, love this game!! The plot twist was so crazy when I first played this many years ago! I was so shocked!
