Just watched your travel video to here from a few years ago, scary undertaking at the time, so glad on watching this video that your are settling in well. You and your family make a welcome addition to our population. Good luck.
Just found your two video updates 😅 I’m trying to get out of here (US) with my two kids, through a student visa for my husband but not sure what that’s going to be like. Thank you for updating!
@@t.kelley232 we are going to try two routes, there’s a company job he apply to in Forres right now that will help relocate and with visas. For school he’s a veteran and we need about 2 years to plan that out so it will be a minute. I wish it was easier to figure out! How has yours gone?
I moved in the other direction in 2012 but I watch a lot of things about Americans living abroad. Good to see you are doing well although this is almost universally true judging by the videos I have seen of other ex-pat Americans. How are you coping with Scottish food which is utterly unlike the food in the US?
Hi Peter. I have one question it is about traveling with a pet (cat) in cabin. You did give some details in your move to Scotland video. I tried to do some research on my own about traveling with pet to UK I cant find any where that they do or do not allow you to enter into the UK with a pet "in cabin" Would I have to travel to another European country on a flight that allows me to have my cat in cabin? And then use a boat/train from there (that allows pet in cabin?) I truly do not want to put my pet in cargo at all. Would you have any resources that you can share on this again. Much appreciated! Best wishes to you and your family! I was so glad to see this video! 🙂Thank you!
I will do a video about bringing over the cats when I can! But yeah basically you can’t bring them into the UK in cabin on any commercial flight. It’s a law, not an airline rule. I think you can on a private plane but that’s way outta most people’s budget. Most people fly into France and hire a taxi to take them across the Eurotunnel, or fly into Amsterdam and take the DFDS ferry over to Newcastle (North Shields) which is what we did!
@Peter Ort thank you SO much, Peter! This is very helpful. Appreciate this and any future videos om it or pertaining it! Hope all is going well with you and your lovely family.. Best wishes and take care! 😊🙏🏽
That's interesting. I thought your partner needed a 17k personal income if not a UK citizen? My Dad has fallen foul of that issue with his second wife and he's a UK citizen. Any advice there appreciated.
From my understanding it was £18,500 but I believe that has unfortunately gone up recently, as well as all the other costs associated with a visa. Best bet would be to check the UK government website for the up to date details and pricing!
Assuming you have the legal right to live and work in Scotland then you have the right to live and work anywhere in the UK. There is no such thing as a Scotland only visa.
@@craigevans6156 Well not any time at all given how the SNP are falling apart. And why do you believe Scotland can survive economically when it relies totally on 'British' trade, Barnett 20% extra loadings and the English paying your £15 bn a year deficit?
@@craigevans6156 Is that your best line? Pathetic to the point of ridicule. No soft Lad its economic facts. But for the sh*ts and G*ggles I read the Guardian, Telegraph and Spectator. Because I like to see the range of political views. Unlike your blinkered self. Get a calculator and divide the 2.5 Mn Scottish taxpayers into that £15 Bn deficit and see how much more tax that is a week. (Last year it was actually £23 Bn!).
I have the right to live and work in Scotland, all the rest of the UK, and in every country in the EU! As well as the United States of course. And technically more… I was born in Pakistan so I am a Pakistani citizen if I wanted to claim that passport 😂
I agree with you except about the government part. I’m not a political expert and while I know this government (and country) isn’t perfect, if I’m comparing it to the US it’s pretty damn near perfect. With that being said, comparing anything to the US is a pretty low bar 😂😂😂
Jesus Christ, I know America's political system is infantile and amateur, but to describe the Scottish government as "near perfect" is a bit of a stretch. I would say they are both terrible.
An English person would say that. You don't live here and don't have a clue what you are talking about. Our government has done more for us than the Tories you elect. If they had the powers they'd do much more. You people are brainwashed by the daily mail. There's a reason a majority of Scottish born people voted YES to leave the UK. Shame the Scottish government allowed English people to vote on the future of my country. Yet the banned EU citizens from voting in the Brexit referendum.
@@peterkonradort totally agree with you. The Scottish government has done a lot for Scotland. It's just a pity we don't have full control of our own country are ruled by English politicians in Westminster.
West Kilbride! You chose well. I live there too, brilliant village
the views from West Kilbride like a postcard
Awesome I wondered what happened glad to see you are all ok 👌 👍
Hope you and the family prevail mate. Scotland is a lovely place to live and i hooe the business does well.
Welcome to Scotland. Give hugs to the twins. (Oh, the beard is the right colour, but a wee but short)
As a Scot, welcome.
Thank you!

Hello stranger!! Glad y’all are thriving in Scotland especially with all the changes. I was wondering what had happened to y’all.
It’s been a crazy couple of years! I’m working to get back into it and will be releasing videos more regularly. Or that’s the plan at least lol
All the best in your venture
Scotland is lovely but you also have my condolences. Glad it's working out for you.

Yes, for UK citizens you have to be at a certain income threshold etc but since I’m an EU citizen, EU free movement laws applied for us!
