My Wife was deathly afraid of dogs when we were dating (early 90’s). She had been chased by dogs when she was a child. I slowly introduced her to the best animal in the world by having a friend bring over his K9, but It was still “no way, I’m too terrified”.. (then again, he shouldn’t have demonstrated “bite work” LOL
After adopting an older child born with one arm, my Wife was so scared that any dog would be a threat to her remaining arm. I resigned myself we would never have a dog.
Turns out my daughter ended up convincing her that all kids need a dog in order to learn love and responsibility.
We ended up with a Maltee-Poo, kind of a sissy breed 😉but very smart, super sweet AND hypoallergenic. (required after I developed asthma after spending a lot of time at the WTC site - Thanks EPA director Christine Todd Witless for assuring us the air was safe to breathe). “Asbestos and mercury (liquid and vapor) are harmless, honest….
Just like GWOT was about “WMD” 🤨
Sorry.. lost my train of thought.
Our tiny dog is completely attached to my Wife and she even insists it sleep in our bed.
Why? “because the bed is soft and HER dog deserves to be comfortable “. 🤣
    Thanks….

@@PowderMill that is quite the story but glad in the end a dog became part of your family. For the last 10 years I have been a professional handler and wouldn’t trade a second of it. What did you do down at WTC? When I was with the FDNY I was assigned to the 1st battalion so my house was very close to the site.
