Last night, I called my best friend and we talked a little on the phone. He told me about sone people he saw that day, and he told me he was a little surprised about sone of them being on the phone during almost all of the time they spent together. He said “I have never seen you doing that, you are never on your phone when we spend time together”. I would have liked to tell him “I love you so much, they surely don’t!”, but it’s really what I do when I spend time with people I value. It’s a sign of respect, too, isn’t it? And yeah, I love my friends, I have always thought that friendship comes first.

I can only speak from personal experience. Everyone experiences anxiety on another level and severity so u can’t generalize it. In my case I do have stronger social anxiety so I hate crowded places, meeting new ppl etc etc. but I love hanging out with the ppl whom I trust and love for a long time. But still, I kinda avoid calling my friends or even relatives cuz I just don’t like it, but I love calling my boyfriend. I can’t really explain why cuz I don’t know why lmao but as I’ve mentioned before u can’t generalize it so I guess it would be better if u talk to him about if he’s comfortable with calling or not. I had social anxiety and I definitely rather text than call (now I've mostly recovered and prefer calling more). But my bf didn't seem to quite understand what it was, and I didn't have the energy to explain either. I'm a student, we call everyday (ldr) and I would just pop my phone somewhere close to me and study, and he would work on his stuff as well. We seldom talked in calls so that's still fine for me. But in terms of actually chatting, the socially anxious me definitely loved him but still preferred texting.
I have social anxiety but if my bestfriend, boyfriend or someone close to me call me, i'm fine enough to answer. But i'm not answering when my family call me because i'm not close with them :D
My all these traits are in my best friend. Since we’ve met, there has been this-unexplainable amount of connection, security and trust. I trust her with nearly everything and I can tell she does the same. She’s patient, kind, sweet, she always give me hugs and makes me feel better. Even though I can be impatient and protective with a stingy attitude, I’d never yell at her because I know she hates it and I would NEVER call her a name, be toxic towards her, ignore her, or in any way treat her like she’s less than a person. I’ll always be there for her and I just give her space when she needs it but I always check in. All the traits she has is something I never though any person could have. I have had someone special in my life for a little over 10 years. I met him randomly one night during a REALLY hard time in my life. Within minutes of meeting him I was thinking things I NEVER thought before. Over the years we have had ups and downs. He drives me crazy sometimes but I love him. Or they ghost you because, y'know, gross. When I figured out I'm asexual and don't feel things the same as others, I realized they thought I wanted sex and I felt humiliated. I destroyed more than one deep friendship because of that.

My partner just doesn’t express love in words, it’s not his love language which is a reason he doesn’t say it. And also there’s been points where the words I love you were just said out of habit before and in a way we are both afraid it’ll get to that point again. I love you can mean so many different things to different people. Some say it and mean nothing. Sometimes it’s a see you later. you can love friends and say I love you to them and not mean in a romantic way. The words themselves are subjective like most things so I understand why one would choose not to say I love you and express love in different way. My ex and I recently broke up and we both realized we were better off as best friends. Our friendship is still good and strong but my parents think it’s odd to keep exes as friends. I don’t think so. We both love each other but we love each other for who we are and as friends. It’s a super healthy breakup and we just wanna continue to be there for one another. So yes, I do think that’s true love. You always have to have a solid foundation with someone first and see where it leads. I hope to have that again one day :)

These videos have really helped my understand my feelings for the person I'm dating. And now knowing that she has also had the same problem as me, I think I know how to tell her I love her and hate not being with her thank you.
I feel like this is not taking into account a lot of autism/adhd folks. The very first item kinda frustrated me. Rather call than text. Perhaps for some. For for a lot of people on the spectrum, even texting is a huge sign of love. Verbalizing while not being able to see the other person can make it a lot harder to actually communicate for some. They may not BE ABLE to properly converse without either writing it or seeing you. And “they give you all their attention “. I’m so ADHD, I’m literally incapable of giving people my full attention when I actually choose to. It either happens or it doesn’t, and my feelings for them don’t always get a say in that. As frustrating for me as it is for them. Just hope people take these with a grain of salt and remember that these won’t necessarily be the case for some neurodivergent folks.

In 2 days we will be together for a year. This is the first time when I feel like she was realllllyyy mad at me. (She was not after I talked to her). After I talked to her she explained our school has been kinda homophobic toward her. She also said her parents are going through a lot. Even though I can be impatient and protective with a stingy attitude, I’d never yell at her because I know she hates it and I would NEVER call her a name, be toxic towards her, ignore her, or in any way treat her like she’s less than a person. I’ll always be there for her and I just give her space when she needs it but I always check in. All the traits she has is something I never though any person could have. My partner just doesn’t express love in words, it’s not his love language which is a reason he doesn’t say it. And also there’s been points where the words I love you were just said out of habit before and in a way we are both afraid it’ll get to that point again. I love you can mean so many different things to different people. Some say it and mean nothing. Sometimes it’s a see you later. you can love friends and say I love you to them and not mean in a romantic way. The words themselves are subjective like most things so I understand why one would choose not to say I love you and express love in different way. My ex and I recently broke up and we both realized we were better off as best friends. Our friendship is still good and strong but my parents think it’s odd to keep exes as friends. I don’t think so. We both love each other but we love each other for who we are and as friends. It’s a super healthy breakup and we just wanna continue to be there for one another. So yes, I do think that’s true love. I feel like this is not taking into account a lot of autism/adhd folks.
The very first item kinda frustrated me. Rather call than text. Perhaps for some. For for a lot of people on the spectrum, even texting is a huge sign of love. Verbalizing while not being able to see the other person can make it a lot harder to actually communicate for some. They may not BE ABLE to properly converse without either writing it or seeing you.
And “they give you all their attention “. I’m so ADHD, I’m literally incapable of giving people my full attention when I actually choose to. It either happens or it doesn’t, and my feelings for them don’t always get a say in that. As frustrating for me as it is for them.
Just hope people take these with a grain of salt and remember that these won’t necessarily be the case for some neurodivergent folks.
