I always come away from Make Noise's videos learning something. This is no exception. I don't have any excuse not knowing this stuff, but I hate manuals. I would have never known this without this video. This really opens up additional possibilities. A HUGE thanks!
Bought the spectraphon when it came out and a few months ago got a QPAS. Now I have a mimeophon coming on in a few days. Cants wait to get weird with the trifecta👽
I’m just going to keep Magneto and Mimeophon in my studio cases together. When playing live, I’ll decide which to use as I prefer to work with one case with limited space in those scenarios.
I haven't even started building a system, but I'm already planning to get two of these! Probably the only module I will get twice. It's funny, when I started planning the system half a year ago, I had quite a few Make Noise modules in there, now it's only this one and the Tempi. But this one will not go!!!
I hadn't thought of using two Mimeophons, but you could probably get really fun results by playing one in a lower Zone into the other in a medium Zone, or vice versa...
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC I haven't even thought about that possibility. Was more thinking about using one for the kind of sounds you're creating here and one for a second voice that uses fast repeats, approaching audio rate, to get similar effects like with the Volca Drum waveguide ... and then increasing the rate and maybe the zone size right before a transition.
there is no other option to use ping pong without summing both inputs to mono?? and it sums only the wet signal? if i'm 50% wet, the 50%dry is summed to mono? or stay in stereo ?
The dry signal passes unaltered. The summing to mono is prior to the panning created by Ping Pong. This is so that the echoes contain all the sound. So that you hear an echo of the full signal in left, then right, then left, then right etc. instead of having for example only the left input appear in the echoes.
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC Thank you for replying. There is no option to have ping pong while ping will echo the right side and pong will echo the left side? or I'm missing a core knowledge about the stereo delay?
That's hard to say, since I haven't used Clouds very much. We design modules to be the best we can make them, not to compete with other companies' modules. That said, I think Clouds is more of a "granular" effect, where Mimeophon is more of a multizone repeater. Of course we hope you will choose the Mimeophon, but you should choose the modules that best suit you and your music!
So glad I watched this video. It explains a lot why skew hasn't been behaving the way I expected it to, and opens up a bunch of new possibilities.

Happy patching!
I literally can't wait, got mine pre-ordered! I keep finding new ways to use my Make Noise modules and find them endlessly inspiring... keep it up : )
I have a Mimeophon in transit as I type. I am excited beyond words. I can't wait to get the 0-Coast and the Qpas running through it. Oof!
I can't wait to use mine with lrmsmslr 💥♥️
Excellent and clear.
thanks!
Im SO buying one of these. Its just so interesting
glad you like it! We think you'll have fun :)
Time to sell some gear! I need one of these in my life

This is a very fat sounding oscillator type of patch and Mimeophon seems to be helping with the juicy delays.
I so want this module... might have to sell my Strymon Magneto to get it (which will make me sad.)
I'm moving my Magneto out to make room for this and x-pan. Also a bit sad. I won't sell it immediately just in case but Make Noise do not disappoint!
Similar predicament. Got to have it too, though I think I'll keep my magneto. such a performable delay. Clouds though....

I'm afraid they'll find the skew, ping pong, swap panels fully operational when your friends arrive.

I'm checking my pre-order hourly 😂
Amazing! I want at least 3 🖤!
What's up with that noise feedback @2:05 ?
highest settings of Color can cumulatively accentuate upper frequencies of the system's noise floor, creating pleasing sounds
@@MAKEN0ISEMUSIC "pleasing sounds" ^^

That is basically what Swap does. It's Ping Pong but with both channels "pinging and ponging"
MAKEN0ISE thank you for that reply, just got my Mimeophon. Thx
Hi Guys, Another thing came in mind while using the module. There is any way I can use the Halo without using the delay path?
Can’t clouds do all this plus more?
