    Thank you, I've done these polys to every front end since having to redo rubber bushes after ONE YEAR!. Much stiffer ride but worth the effort entirely. Good job sir

    You should have slackended the shock obsorber top arm pinch bolt , then kingpin top bushes would slip out easier, Save damage when using hammer!

    I fitted V8 bushes to mine. The steering and suspension is fab, but everything is like new so not surprised

    That should drive great. The downside to poly is they need to be kept lubricated so unless you install zerk fittings to the middle of each hinge you'll have to take them apart for greasing periodically.

      I've never known poly bushes to need lubrication. I have the same set in the front of my beetle for the last 11 years and they're perfect and have never been lubricated.

    Couple decades ago I installed new poly bushings on my 240Z. The handling was much better with the poly bushings, but they squeaked so loudly I couldn't hear anything else. They were so loud I had to replace them with OEM bushings. I'm going to replace the bushings on my MGB. Now I know what can I do to prevent polys from squeaking.

      I can't say I've ever had this issue with poly bushes myself.

    Good job Ross, I really enjoy your videos, seen them all.
    With a bushing change, you'll likely need a toe adjustment. because of the stiffer bushings, you'll likely need a little less toe in. I'd like to see a video of the procedure you would use.....

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  11 місяців тому

      My procedure is to bring it to a garage with the proper alignment fixtures and let them do it to be honest. It's small money for peace of mind.

    I’m not saying they don’t improve certain aspects of the car but found them a bit too harsh and noisy and went back to standard rubber. For the type of driving I do I got no advantage from them, I’m getting to the point in my life where I prefer comfort and refinement over performance 😊

  • @gregmooradian3711
    @gregmooradian3711 11 місяців тому

    Great video. Sometimes it's a bit easier if you're just replacing the bushings to remove the bottom bolt from the kingpin assembly. I also like to grease it up as well. Be careful not to get grease on any rubber, it turns rubber to mush!

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  11 місяців тому

      Yeah but to replace the top bushes you'd have to remove that bolt anyway.

    • @pyronitro
      @pyronitro 11 місяців тому

      There are greases that dont attack rubber and are food grade and waterproof also. so far i've used superlube without issues in wheel bearings and other suspension components. just make sure to check compatibility.

    I had seen one fellow who wraps the bushings with PTFE tape to eliminate squeaking. He swears by it. He greases, wraps and greases again before install. I don't see a problem with your install but as you say it's UA-cam. Everybody has an opinion as well as an.... You know.
