You'd have to have a remake to achieve these graphics. A remaster would be roughly the same as 3D All-Stars but with wide screen, enhanced framerate, and a resolution higher than 720p.

There's so many good games coming every year, and, for most people, only a limited amount of money and time you can invest on them, so unless you're a tryhard fan or you missed the originals, why would you play a remaster over a new experience?

This is the kind of remake I want to see, where the visual essence of the original game is respected, just as it is. I have seen remakes of Ocarina of Time, that in their attempt to show nice graphics, they lose the style of the original game.
I’d love to see an HD remake like this, but also update the sound effects and models to their “current” look. I never understood why “?” blocks were “!” blocks in this game. Small changes like this, which only appear in Super Mario 64, make it less cohesive with the rest of the series.
