I kinda forgot to say that the main reason I picked Drampa was in case of Torkoal matchups - in Trick Room Torkoal moves before Calyrex and does a ton of damage, but Drampa switches off the sun so Calyrex can take hits a lot more easily and can support with Fling and Tickle before Calyrex moves in Trick Room [: Also, apologies for the lack of nicknames in the Showdown footage - the team was still in testing and they hadn't earnt they nicknames yet lol
Why do you use ally switch? It relies too much on predictions and follow me will prevent all damage from your ally. There may be something I’m missing here, please help!
I love messing around with fling. A personal favorite that I made recently is fling Mimikyu into Dusk Mane Necrozma holding a weakness policy. You can either make it a bulky attacker, or a faster bulky attacker. You either use a Salac or Liechi berry and then d dance. I've also paired it with Cherrim cause of the boosts and the sun boosts Morning Sun healing. Fling is just so fun tbh
@@DDViking i think it would make sense if it resisted water, would be also similar with bug and fighting, didnt they resist each other? Ground or flying resist would be also good for game techinical reasons and would be logical enough for suchs a game as Pokémon is.

I had some fun with TR specs drampa on a team built around instruct oranguru in sun and moon. It was so fun when it got going, and drampa was the best sweeper on that team. Would love to see a video where you make a much better instruct team. Maybe even instruct glacial lance in TR?
Oranguru is really cool, but I think in this legendary format it is quite hard to use at the moment. Glacial Lance with Instruct would be incredibly powerful though!
In the video you used Mienshao with Ally Switch. Would you recommend Pokemon that use Ally Switch or moves that are typically viewed as “safer” (like Rage Powder and Follow Me). I use Tangela a lot in battles because of the sky-high Def+Sp. Def stats when paired with Eviolite, and the access to Rage Powder through eggs, but I’m interested in exploring other dynamics for my Trick Room strats. Ally Switch is a very difficult to predict move, since if the opponent correctly predicts the switch then you are in for a heap of trouble if you are using the likes of Kartana that have very little special bulk. Rage Powder and Follow Me are more reliable in the sense that your opponent can’t predict by targeting both Pokemon, but are weak to Stalwart and similar moves/abilities that don’t pay attention to redirecting (and Safety Goggles/Grass types for Rage Powder). I’m always open to new ideas and strategies for my team, so I can make a strong Trick Room team that also applies lesser used Pokemon for a little more uniqueness which has bonuses such as being less unpredictable than your typical Dusclops team.
Follow Me and Rage Powder can be more reliable, but they are more obvious from team preview. Ally Switch is riskier, but generally it is harder for the opponent to predict, unless they have spread damage moves which don't require you to target. But that's why I think Mienshao is unique because it has Wide Guard and Ally Switch. It requires good prediction, which may only come with practice, but I think it is a neat option which can be very hard for your opponent to play around.
@@foofootoo thanks for the advice. I’ll be seeing how I can integrate Ally Switch into my teams in. Mienshao is a good option, like you pointed out, but perhaps Stakataka which has one of the highest base defence stats in the game, and a decent special defence stat of 101 (but comparatively abysmal HP of 65 so can’t utilise the bulk fully). On this team it probably wouldn’t work nearly as good, but there may be uses out there for Ally Switch Stakataka. It has access to Trick Room itself, so if worst comes to worst it can be thrown on it.
FOOTOO! YOU SHOULD do a video about intimidate stoutland with baby doll eyes ive been winning alot of games with it, i like it because its faster than incineroar when dealing damage🐶
@@foofootoo you should also try and find a good pokemon to use stomping tantrum-blunder policy ive only came up with using it with stone edge tyranitar for its low accuracy. Your welcome for the new video ideas🤠🤙
I think Shadow Rider is easier to play with because it usually already outspeeds everything and you don't need to worry about Trick Room. Plus Tailwind Whimsicott is so reliable. But I wanted to show off some more niche Pokemon
Great video and overall great content! How do you come up with these strategies? What is your thought process? What are your analyses behind it? Maybe you could show us in a video some day?
Thanks! Well with this one I actually started with Lickitung then pivoted to Drampa lol I was looking for a niche mon and not many things give protection against weather + activation of Weakness Policy + damage boosting (Helping Hand or dropping defense). Drampa was superior in the end because I didn't have to sacrifice damage output.
Cloud Nine doesn’t remove weather, it negates it. If sun is up and Cloud Nine mon switches in, the sun effects are negated. But if it switches back out, then the sun effects are reinstated.
Considered it as Mienshao can be slightly passive once Trick Room is up. But I was more concerned about Mienshao being OHKOd and allowing the opponent to target into Calyrex on the first turn
I really wanna do an offensive Drampa set/team but I’m having a hard time justifying using it over P2 besides this set, what can Drampa do that P2 can’t?
Spread damage with Hyper Voice is also a decent selling point, as well as fire type coverage for steel types. Berserk with Draco Meteor, Hyper Voice, Flamethrower is a good start. You can use the Throat Spray item and Protect in the last slot, or alternatively use Choice Specs and have another coverage move
@@foofootoo Thx guys! I just hope I can find a Pokémon that I can pair it up with. Ofc any ideas are welcome Edit: if I’m using hyper voice, should I run Flamethrower instead of heatwave?
Iron Ball would do more damage, and I use Fling to activate Calyrex's Weakness Policy, so I would just end up doing more damage to my own Pokemon. Instead, I use Liechi Berry which makes Fling very weak and gives Calyrex and extra attack boost
