18:10 “..but when I send out an Indeedee and Trevenant, most people *twig* what might be happening” I see what you did there but also don’t understand at the same time LOL
Yeah I also built a Trevdnant team, but mine was focussed around Incineroar as the main synergy. I can't believe I never considered Bulldoze, but Trevenant goes amazingly well with Incineroar. Fake out + Intimidate + spdef Trev is awesome. And then you get to do some sweeping with Max Flare and Forest's curse. That team had Dragalge on it as well as Buzzwole for taking advantage of the Forest's curse as well. As soon as I saw this video I just yelled "YESSS!". I wish that Trevenant section would have lasted forever lmao
Hey Sam! So I was wondering how the ability Anticipation works in relation to type-altering moves like Forest's Curse, Soak, Magic Powder, and so on. Would it make the Pokémon shudder if it then has a type weakness added that is also a move on the opposing side of the field?
I think anticipation activates the moment the Pokémon is sent out to battle so I would guess it wouldn't account for the new typing since it wouldn't have that typing when it hit the field to begin with
Your videos are so fun to watch and the way you talk in these videos definitely shows that your really enjoy making these videos as well, you definitely deserve way more subs.
Could you please do a video on morpeko? It is really fun to use because it’s unique moveset and the sheer variety of ways to use it. I actually wiped both a charizard and zapdos using one which was amazing!
Milotic is such a good pokemon here. With Bulldoze you can also activate the Competitive ability. And if you want a bulky one, you can run Marvel Scale, Will-o-wisp at some point and you'll have more room for items and movements rather than a flame orb one. I love all sets. Too OP. Garbodor need this.
Unfortunately your own Bulldoze doesn't activate Competitive, the stat drop has to come from the opponent. But the idea for a Marvel Scale version is cool!
direct quote from elite 4 member Karen: strong pokemon weak pokemon that is only the selfish perception of a trainer good pokemon trainers try to win with their favorites.
YAAAS we stan Garbodor content... Speaking from personal experience, I found this Pokémon fairly decent in VGC. Double Poison for the opponent is kinda evil lol. In Series 5, I used to run a bulky Gigantamax Garbodor with Assault Vest, and Aftermath to punish physical attackers. This thing was so good. And in back, I also Hex Chandelure and Venoshock Salazzle to clean up... Ah, good times lol
I think making its bulk work really synergises well with the poison. The Weak Armor set is flashy and catches people by surprise but is definitely riskier
I approve of Venom Drench. It probably isn't the best move, but it's become one of my favorites and caused me to build a Poison Gas + Venom Drench support Skuntank team early on in the games life cycle. Sadly not a lot of options with both of those moved on the same 'mon.
I just wish the stat drop was more significant, like -2 in the stats or -1 to all stats. It's so situational that the reward for using it successfully should be higher
And I was just here hoping the Trevanat would have harvest shenanigans too. You had a torkal to set up sun so that could be fun tech too to help the Trevanant be very hard to kill. Of course assuming you swapped it to a healing berry too
Also: I didn’t know that the moves Forest Curse, Soak, etc ADDED the type to the receiving mon; I thought it REPLACED one of their typings. That’s very interesting to know that! So you can essentially have three typings and use it strategically to give yourself STAB or a resistance that you don’t normally have. Super super cool!! I always learn something from watching you, Foo. So glad I found your channel ❤️ also hey, if you see this: have you considered playing Radical Red and doing a few videos on it? An updated version was added fairly recently (v2.2b) that, among other additions, added several Gmax mons, but made them into Megas instead! All the Gmax mons that are currently available were turned into megas instead, and they were given some really cool new abilities. For example, Mega Absol is Dark/Fairy and was given an ability called Blademaster that boosts cutting-based moves, ie Psycho Cut, Night Slash, Slash, Sacred Sword, etc. :) It’s a very challenging game, but I think you would have a LOT of fun making strategies for it- there’s a huge, super passionate community. They have literally everything for it: a fully functioning radical red Showdown server, a radical red damage calculator, a Google drive with documents to help your playthru with locations of new tms/hms, locations and spawn tables of all the wild encounters, raid dens, and just a ton of really helpful stuff. The game is being updated regularly and it’s always such a fun experience that really rewards strategizing. I really think it’s the best, most fleshed-out, and has the best quality of life improvements of any Pokémon ROM hack that’s ever been created. If you’re interested, there is a Radical Red discord server with all of the above information, and info about how to get the game. ❤️Great video Foo. Cant wait for more! ❤️

That's an interesting idea! I guess you could also try Talonflame - Dual Wingbeat has priority and would give Garbodor +4 speed, so you would always be the fastest Pokémon before anything else could move. The only issue is that it doesn't get its Weakness Policy so it does not hit very hard

11:28 No reason for the togekiss to use a follow me, since neither of your pokémon can learn a damaging fire move, at least in this gen. Love the first team, seems it lacks a solid counter against poison and steel types though. Milotic resist steel and the dark horse resist poison but the only move you have against those pkmn seems to be scolip's earthquake... perhaps a Heatran?
Garbodor itself has Max Quake and resists poison so generally has a good matchup there. And I have Incineroar on that team for steel type matchups. But a more offensive fire type could be helpful
Maybe I should try it with my light screen/reflect mew and sword dance\baton pass Blaziken with speed boost ability then. I've been running urshifu 3rd as one punch man but regi might hit way harder
Earthquake is primarily there to activate Garbodor's Weak Armor ability and Weakness Policy so I want to deal as little damage as possible to Garbodor. If I didn't have -Atk nature I would just do more damage to my own Pokémon
It would be even better with a Pokémon like dragalge, G-Slowking, Weezing, G-Weezing, A-Muk or Drapion and use a rage powder volcarona to camouflage the trick room team at the same time having a offensive mon which could attract attention without the need to use rage powder.
i recently made a vgc team based around weakness policy weak armour gmax garbodor with scarf dugtrio and specs merciless toxipex if you’re interested in trying to 👀
For the Scolipede strat i would use an Eviolite Haunter. Would serve the same purpose and if you really wanted it to hit harder use a Life Orb. Dragapult or Froslass with life orb should also work. (i don't like using legendaries unless i have to). For Spectrier as supporter i see where it fits being able to do what it does and other than Lucario (no hex synergy) there's really no other ghost type that can do bulldoze and "not hit hard". For situations like this i would look at Sylvally even though it's a legendary but it can't even do what spectrier can do (no bulldoze) so if you wanted fakeout protection on a fast bulldoze pokemon that won't hit hard you'd have to use a mental herb perhaps on Heliolisk.
I don't think Haunter would work - the main reason to use Scolipede is for fast Earthquake to activate Weakness Policy on Garbodor, and then when you start getting poison you can Venom Drench. Without the option to activate Garbodor's Weakness Policy it will be very weak. Silvally is a very interesting option. I hadn't thought about it!
