So excited to watch your family’s new adventure!! Good luck!! Amsterdam is the best!!
Thanks so much!! Soaking it up already!!
As an American married to a German, living in the USA and pregnant with my fist baby- I really resonate with feeling unsafe here at times. For us we’re going to see how it goes & make a more formal decision in a few years. I love so much about the USA but there are a few major problems that give me pause. Luckily our baby will automatically get dual citizenship here & in Germany so moving later on will be easy. I hope your travels go well & you find a good place for your family!
Thank you so much! Amazing you already have options with dual citizenship! The safety piece is really the main thing that keeps me pursuing this option. It’s so hard :(
I absolutely love this and how you are making decision based on your happiness and giving your child options in the future :) This is exactly what I want to do when I have a child. As an avid traveller myself, it's so nice to see that doesn't need to be ground to a halt when you have a child.
Such a sweet message, thank you! Figuring it out as we go but it feels really empowering to shape our parenting experience to feel more in line with our values. So glad you found your way here!
So useful! My baby loves Ms. Rachel too
So glad! And omg yessss, couldn’t travel without her ;)
I just found your channel via your TikTok and wanted to say I'm excited to see where your channel goes! I love UA-cam content the most of all the content out there and your first two videos are great! So excited for you and your family to have the experience of living overseas - I would love to figure out how to do that some day!
I'm curious how many hours per day you and your husband feel like you need to be able to work to get all you need to get done "done" as full-time freelancers? I'm a soon to be FTM and I'm already thinking about ways that I can possibly prolong daycare enrollment and make it work with us both at home.
This is such a kind message- thank you! So glad you found me and excited to share the journey :)
Tbh it’s been a lot of trial and error re: working with a baby at home. When he was 4 months old, my husband and I were both in full time jobs working from home but got by with 5 hours a day of a nanny in house. We then both went freelance when he was 11 months old and only have had help a few hours 1x a week. We each get about 3-4 hours of uninterrupted work time during the day though (bc we trade watching Nico morning or afternoon- wouldn’t be able to do this if my partner wasn’t also freelance) and then 1-2 hours during nap times. And honestly end up working nights and weekends often to catch up. But this varies depending on the week and moving forward how many clients we have at a time!
Those tips are precious for my hubby and I as we want to ensure our (future) kid is used to travel, thanks a lot Hope!
and I love seeing Nico learning with Miss Rachel. I should look to something similar but in french and italian, not sure I can add another language as we are already a mixed couple... They'll learn english at school I guess!
Aww thanks for sharing! Happy to hear it :) I would love to find a Dutch or Portuguese version of Ms Rachel for Nico!
Where do you find the apartment? Also, where did you find the immigration lawyers?
We want to move to Mexico this year! 😅 I’m nervous but this makes me feel better! Where do you let your baby sleep in the hotel rooms/ Airbnb? Do you have a travel crib?
Oh amazing- excited for you! For shorter trips when he was younger we either rented something or requested the hotel have a crib. But by the time he was 7 months old we started co-sleeping, which we still do now, so we just make sure there’s a big enough bed for all 3 of us haha
@@hope.ss.chambers he will be around 7-8 months when we move! We’ve never co-slept before. Do you have a company that you rent baby products from that you’d recommend? Thanks!
What is the work you guys do freelance?
I do brand marketing for startups based in NY and my husband does similar work but more in editorial and partnerships
