Best Winter Moisturizers for Dry Skin
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 лип 2024
- With the F/W comes a change in skin condition. This is usually when I start noticing that hydration isn't quite cutting it as much anymore and that I need more lipids in my skincare. These are some of my favourite Dry Skin and Winter moisturizer picks. These are for skin that needs heavier, more creamy and emollient moisturizers. These are definitely not your light gel moisturizers! I've selected a few of my favourites for different additional needs and across budgets - whether you need something for dry and acne prone skin, barrier repair, more active for maturing skin or age-defense, evening skin tone, or a cream that has a velvet skin finish rather than a glossy, glowy one - I got you!

You should do an updated hydrating toners video!
Will do!!
I truly would love, and appreciate a video for dry skin moisturizers!!
THANK YOU MUCH!!
Lipids! Of course! Thank you so much. I’ve been dousing my skin with moisturizer to no avail. Thank you!
I’ve received your box of wishes for a week now and everything has been a hit so far! Thank you!
Yayyy!! So happy to hear this, enjoy and spoil that skin!
After watching this video, I bought Physiogel moisturizer...wow! This product is the very best moisturizer for my dry skin, you are the only UA-camr to mention this product! Huge THANK YOU!
Love these kind of videos so much!!!!
I am so glad you posted this...thanks, I need it badly. To me you are a skin guru..ever since I discovered you 4 years ago, my skin has started to look better and better. Love from Romania
Not a lot can make me happier than seeing comments like this!! 🧡 thank you so much Lavinia!
Love your videos so much and I have been watching you for so many years. I hope you start posting frequently again, like before.
the physiogel one iz soooo underrated. thank you for including it!
Then, IF i can find it...This is the one I will get when all my others are Out.
Your videos always seem to come when I need them the most!😍 Ever since learning about Peach and Lily they have become a favorite so I'm definitely checking out that Matcha cream for my super parched skin.
Got your Holiday Box and the Rice Cream is DREAMY for my parched skin. It’s quickly becoming a holy grail for me.
You have gift boxes?????
Physiogel is a lifesaver. It's my staple moisturizer when winter comes and my heater cranks in. Never woke up with dry and flaky skin when I'm using it. Layer it over some hydrating essences and it's perfect.
Agreed, the heater could be blasting directly on my face while I sleep and I'll wake up with moisturized skin haha!
This sounds right up my ally! Need to get my hands on it asap! 😄
Isn't this the one that is not available in US?
@@dannagordon9618 you can buy it on Amazon :)
Hey how does it compares to cerave for slightly irritated skin barrier repair I have dry skin and right now confused between the two
Here for Renée!
My love this year is the La Roche Posay Lipikar Balm extra dry skin body and face. I mostly use this as my body moisturizer but I use it as an overnight mask on my face a couple of times a week after retinol. It’s fragrance free and it’s my number one skincare find of 2020.Thanks for the video!
Yay right on time, my mother needs a winter cream i think im sold on the Neutrogena one,
Rene~ Great recommendations! I'm curious to see how you store all your skincare products~ will you make a video about how you store your products?
Great idea!
Love a good selections of moisturisers
The sweet chef moisturizer is awesome for winter. So rush and my face feels great in the morning.
Hi Renee! I love that you mentioned Neutrogena as that is the one cream that saves my skin in the winter. The retinal is a nice benefit.
I was so impressed!! It’s rich, smooth and creamy
Just ordered the Dear Klairs Midnight Cream... great video!! Thank you!!
I have dry skin, and my face hate Klairs MC 😬😬
Love a good selection of moisturisers! ❤️👌
Such great information, as always! Thank you so much. Stay well. Hugs, Mary ♡♡♡
I am really happy that I recently found the COSRX B5 Pantheol cream as my frangrance free simple winter moisturizer. (But most likely if it still works I would use that in summer as well.) Really improved my skin a lot although the only "fancy" ingredients are 10% Panthenol and some Hyaluronic Acid (I know they aren't fancy at all😂). I would really recomend that for dry and sensitive skin and skin that is irritated from mask wearing. I think combination skin can use it too. But I think it won't be enough for very dry skin and too much for oily skin.
I was looking for this info, my mom needs a good mosturizing cream, thank you so much
I love her and all the product she recommends. ♥️
🤗 Thank you, love!
I really hope there’s a body edition of this video coming soon because I am struggling. 😖
Aquaphor, Eucerin, Amlactin to name a few strong Derm recommendations for me. So many more.
Your skin care collection ultimate 😎
I loooove your sweater!! Where did you get it??
I really love klairs midnight blue moisturiser even tho i’m very oily, it’s so nice💙
My fave is illiyoon’s ato ceramide cream and innisfree intense orchid cream!
Thank you Renée I needed this! Winter comes and all of a sudden my combination skin goes from extra oily to severely dry 😭
Would you consider doing a video on how to plump up the skin?
And how you should do it differently under makeup vs at night when you can be as greasy as you want 😊
Your voice is beautiful and so soothing to listen to 💜❤️
My fav moizturizer:
1. Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré
2. Klairs Midnight Blue Calming ( but it can clogged pores if ise too much ), using this only when my skin becomes inflamed and irritated ( quickly soothes irritated skin )
3. Innisfree Aloe Vera ( using this only when i get irritated and not clooged pores, but slowly soothes irritated skin )
Would love your recommendation for the body in these dry months
Body butters. Use exactly after shower to lock the moisture.
Yes please!!!🙌🏼
A moisturizer that I've been loving lately is the Cerave Baby Moisturizing Cream. It doesn't have parabens, sulfates, or fragrance. Those are not things I used to care about, but then my skin started reacting to things that I used to be able to use, like Cerave's original Moisturizing Cream. It leaves the same velvety finish that's not greasy and seems to moisturize just as well.
Iope has great rich creams as well, especially nice on thinning skin. : )
Olive Young offers free international shipping for over $60 and they carry Physiogel products. 👍
The sulwhasoo ginseng cream scent is INTOXICATING
*Another excellent video Renée! It's the perfect timing for the changing weather. Have you heard of the new trend of "sliming", where you would apply Vaseline to damp skin to lock in moisture and prevent transepidermal water loss? I've seen this trend going around but I've wondered about your thoughts on it and if it's maybe a good idea?*
Thanks J! Yes, that concept has been around for a while and I have absolutely slimed! It definitely works but the reason I don't do it much is because it's seriously messy. Vaseline doesn't dry down so it's slimy all night, I wake up with my hair stuck all over my face and it's everywhere. Also, it feels really uncomfortable, like you're sweating on your own skin and nothing can escape. I prefer the really heavy creams like physiogel that have a similar occlusive effect without being so inelegant. There are some sleeping masks that are good too!
Hello Rene!! I love your videos. I was wondering if you could make a video for those that we just started getting mature skin. What advised and products do you recommend? There’s so many products out there that’s overwhelming. Thank you 😊
My skin and I thank you! 💕
Thank you for the tips
Love your videos Ms Gothamista☺️. I’m using Farmacy and dr Sam. LOVE
Solid combo!! Love it!
Would love a video on serums for winter months! I moved from NorCal to SoCal and didn’t know SoCal is soooo dry. My goto serums no longer works even with a humidifier
I’ve found the perfect moisturizer rotation: Creme de la Mer, Dewy Skin Cream, Stratia Liquid Gold, Sulwhasoo Essential Firming cream❤️😊❤️
You’re my girl, Britt!! We’re 3/4 💕
@@gothamista You’ve taught me well! ❤️
I use the physogel one every day morning and night for my extremely dry and eczema skin
Amazing video. I know this was made a while ago, but I wonder what your impressions are from the honey cream of I’m From (especially vs the Pharmacy one). And selfish wish, but a brand spotlight for I’m From would be awesome :)
Yes to Physiogel! I would always bring tons back to New York everytime I come back from the Philippines. Their lotion is very moisturizing too. Been using Physiogel for eight years now.
Haha you sound just like me! Usually after the holidays I come back to NYC with so many but very much needed for the climatization period!
It’s funny, I don’t find the midnight blue cream moisturising. Would love to try the Rice cream. I’m a big fan of the Rice toner.
can you do a video on best winter moisturizers for combo/oily skin?
Do you plan on trying the MANYO FACTORY Bifida BIOME Complex Ampoule? I bought the original when you had it in a video a few years ago. Also, what highlighter are you wearing? it so natural looking. Or maybe a video on your top highlighters, please.
Not sure if you have a membership but Costco sometimes sells Physiogel in two packs now. You can get it shipped to your home. Great recommendations!
Hey Renée! I recently tried Malaya Organics advanced repair honey mask and I am in love! Have you ever reviewed their products? I would love to know your opinion on their line of products. Thanks for all your great recommendations :)
I just bought The Cream from Augustinus Bader with the discounts happening and even though it is probably more of a spring moisturiser I hope it's worth the coin (big purchases give me anxiety). I also bought the BOOST Led Mask from The Light Salon using your code Renée so I wanted to thank you for that, I can not wait to try it.
For those who have normal to combination skin like me I also recommend the Omega repair cream from Biossance. It's amazing for the colder months.
Amazing! I can't wait for you to try the Boost too, it's such a treat! The Augustinus Bader cream is very lightweight but imo more elegant in application than the rich cream which doesn't spread smoothly but it's rich!!
@@gothamista thank you so much for your feedback! ❤️❤️ Love you Renée
my skin drinking up embryolisse lait crème concentré like 👁👄👁 love this!
I just bought the Farmacy product, can’t wait to get it. My hands and lips are so dry right now despite all the treatments I’ve tried. Can you make a video on recommendations for them?! Love your videos!!
I’ll do an updated one on lips ! Pls check out the fav handcream video from eArlier this year!
I’ve been using Honey Halo cream for a few weeks now and I LOVE it! I have oily/combo skin but due to colder weather and retinol, I needed something heavier and this is amazing, my skin is glowing and it’s great for under my eyes too! For my lips I use the Aquaphor Healing Ointment, nothing else works for me in the winter, hope that helps 😊
I use first aid beauty ultra repair cream as a hand/body moisturizer, and it’s magic for seriously dry hands
Try Sara Happ lip products especially the lip mask . Game changer for me.
just now watching this after having used the klairs and currently using the farmacy one and realizing that my skin type may be super dry now instead of normal like i thought because i love these two moisturizers but my skin still feels like it needs something more 😭
Can we please see your skincare collection?
I’m low-key obsessed with Purito and I’ve been loving the centella unscented recovery cream for winter! I do also have that Klairs midnight blue cream in my cabinet to try out.
Me too! The purito is really good!
I've been using it for a few weeks and I absolutely love it 💕
I’ve been using the dr Sam’s moisturizer for a year now and I love it, as I have dry sensitive acne prone skin. but don’t like how long it takes to ship to me (2-3 weeks) my friend raves about the dr jart ceramidin cream what is your opinion on that one?
Such a pro :) lipids! Ysssss
Omggg I was just today in the website of peach & lily’s and didn’t add it in the cart🥺
Just Subscribed due to the GLOW on your face!!!!!! You get SO MUCH PR, so you can use all the higher ends but you have great advice! I have to go back and see the first few because one was the "heaviest" that I would like to use the 1-2 nights I Skip my precious Microsphere Tretinoin. I want to use it every night but sometimes I am Just too too dry. I don't use ANYTHING on my skin with the Tret!!! I want it not to be diluted in anyway. And the kind I'm using is the gentlest of the Tret's. It's wonderful and worth the much higher price. Tho I try to use lower to mid price serums, as Angie at HotnFlashy prefers. Seems to be working well but I can't seem to get my cheeks to Glow like the rest of my face. I'm overweight. Could this be why? Too much fat to break thru ? Everywhere else glows but the cheeks. Thanks. I look forward to watching you from now on! And I don't Sub to many!!! But you are Great!!!
Here ! Ordered your wishtrend boxes 2020 AND 2018 again ! 😜
Aw amazing Nicole!! Fabulous collection, enjoy ALL of it love!
@@gothamista I really want to say thank you Renee for your great recommendions throughout the years! I've been following you for over three years and I kept notes of your reco esp The Ordinary and then NIOD, they improved my skin SO MUCH! (I remember my first visit to a Deciem store with a note on hand from watching your video😜, all purchase were successful, only azelaic acid not available in Canada: ) On tretinion now as well, will always follow you on my skincare journey!!!💕
Aw This means the world to me Nicole, thank you so much! Love knowing that we’re on this skincare journey together!! 💛
Oh how I wish I could use Sulwhasoo😭. That one time I tried it and had a reaction was sad. If it wasn’t for that I’d still be using it today. I’m From’s new rice serum fits perfectly with my Tatcha routine for winter. I can’t get enough of fermented rice as an Ingredient!🥰 rice wash, rice toner, rice serum, purple rice cream.. it’s all on my skin 😂
Oooh I love it! So much rice perfection! So sad about the sulwhasoo but it's likely too much for you right now. But your routine is *chef's kiss!
What's changed the game for my skin in the winter is a humidifier.
This!!!!
Surprised you didn't mention the Urang ceramide cream! Bought it based on ur recommendation awhile ago, and it's one of my HGs for the winter! :)
OMG Jocelyn!! You are absolutely right, the Rose Ceramide cream should be up there with the others, it is indeed one of my favourites and I intended it to be included in this video but I had to order a new one since I had long used up my last jar. The shipment got lost and so I had to go and record without it - it's similar to the Farmacy cream though so I figured it would be ok to just have that one in there. But that Urang cream has a place in my ♥️ and definitely a ride or die! Thank you for remembering after so many years, makes me happy!
@@gothamista YES so good! I always order it when the seasons change to save my skin in the winter. Can't wait to try the Farmacy cream now! Literally 90% of my skincare purchases are from ur recs. Thanks so much!
Can you do a video on kids safe skincare - 5/6 year old
What do you think about Venn skin care products
Oh my god I’ve been really wanting to try that Klaires Blue midnight moisturizer or whatever that is that is intrigue me for going on two years now and I feel like at this point I should’ve already gotten my hands on it but I just literally has so many moisturizers that I either waste or are still working on yes still been two years LOL but I really need to get my hands on that I just am so intrigued and I feel like I would love it and now this just reminded me how much more I want it maybe I will get it for my Christmas gift to myself LOL
I say go for it. It's the only moisturizer I can use when my overly sensitive skin starts freaking out about something . It feels gloriously hydrating and soothing going on.
The struggle is real Nicole! 😂
I’m in the early 20s but have an incredibly dry skin, is it convenient to use the neutrogena wrinkle repair? I wouldn’t want it to make the opposite effect on my skin
Superb video............
Etude house soon Jung cream is also wonderful
How do you not have 1 mill subs?! Oh, let me check back in an hour or so 😜
Great video
Good one
Do you have any recommendations for moisturizers without fatty alcohols? It seems like it’s difficult to find ones without cetearyl alcohol :(
Hiii I have a question! It doesn't fit with this video, but anyway, here we are. What's the differenze between jade roller and others color? I saw it pink, green, purple, black and white! Thank to everyone who will answer me!!! 💜
I'd love to know your pick for easily irritated eyes that (even as careful as I am) are affected by tretinoin use. The crepe-fest above my mask needs your help!! A
Best dry skin for winter
I see that the containers are little jars. What I heard is that the ingredient can oxidize. And that it is better to use a container with a pump
Hello! I am making my gramma a skincare routine for Christmas and I’m worried that it’s not good enough, she has very dry skin and milia bumps. I got her squalene, Rose hip oil and hyaluronic acid all from the ordinary, will these products help?
Hello! I’m 17 I have dry skin, I do not suffer from acne neither do I have scars/wrinkles on my face. But I would love to start using retinoid to “prevent” but the thing is I do not know where to start. Do you think I should wait more since I’m often considered to be “too young” for retinoid, and if I can use it which one should I use?
Hi. I am very interested in the Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy Cream; however, it lists coconut oil as an ingredient. Should I be concerned? Thank you very much.
Have you ever tried Dr. Jarts Ceramidin cream?? and if so, how does it compare to the Farmacy Honey Cream?! My skin is PARCHED right now from our Canadian winter and using Retin-A 0.4%, so I'm looking for something extremely hydrating. I LOVE the farmacy cream, but it's not hydrating enough at the moment. 😭
Hy-dRaTiNg❤️❤️
😂😘
There is sudden stretchy or enlarged pores kinda around nose cheek area ,not sure if it's due to masks or hydration. Is it because of not enought hydration or maskne
Excellent
Hi Renee!!! Awesome video. I was interested in the Farmacy honey moisturizer but not sure of the Vegetable oil that's so high up on the ingredients list. Is that ingredient ok to use on the face? Just curious. Stay healthy gorgeous ❤
I think as alway it depends on the formulation. It may or may not work for you. Sadly finding the right moisturizer is a challenge and the only way of finding out if this one works for you is trying it out😕
Of course if you've had a reaction to a certain plant oil in the past I would avoid that. For example my skin doesn't like olive oil and coconut oil. But if you don't get skin irritation from a certain plant oil and only fear getting clogged pores try out if it works for you.
I recently got the Rovectin Skin Essentials Barrier Repair Cream Concentrate and I’ve been loving it. It’s thick, but not too thick. The best thing is the fact that it doesn’t give that greasy/tacky feeling? Like, how?
Haha yes magic! It's actually very, very similar to the physiogel except the physiogel is a simpler formula and unscented, eo free.
@@gothamista omg you replied! Oh wow that sounds awesome. I’ll try the Physiogel next. I was kinda scared the Rovectin would break me out due to all the oils it contains but thankfully everything’s fine so far :)
Oh ! Now got more confused😭
I was about to purchase one of those !!
◾Dr Jart ceramidin cream
◾illyoon ato ceramide cream
◾soon jung x2 barrier intensive cream
I don’t know what you ended up buying, but out of all of them I stand fully in favour of the Illiyoon ato ceramide cream all the way. It is truly amazing 👌🏻💋
Is the Physiogel fragrance free?
Sulwhasoo...that cream is amazing. The price is too. Yikes!
Nice video👌👌
My alllll time favourite: la roche posay cicaplast baume b5
I was surprised Renne didn't mention LRP creams
Lavinia - for some reason, the US carries such a small range of LRP and they don’t include any of the “creme riches”. So the ones I love are from toleriane but nowhere near moisturising enough for winter or when my skin is really dry! I do love cicaplast but more for area treating and my ravaged hands! I hope they change that!
@@gothamista Aahh that makes sense. But seriously my skin drinks cicaplast atm!
have you tried the First aid beauty ultra repair face moisturizer? it's very lightweight and thin in texture, but i love it.
Yes I’m so glad you said the moisturizer Instead of the cream. The lighter one is way better IMO and so solid! Just not enough for me in the Winter!
@@gothamista understandable, it's the perfect summertime moisturizer!
Love your skin!! Any suggestions for adding plumpness/fullness to healthy skin
Awesome
damn renée, four cartier bracelets!
