How to Install a Garmin Transducer using Starboard on a Bonafide SS 127 Drypod

This video series may help you. I have a bonafide SS 127 and bought a Garmin Echomap 73SV. I have never owned or used a fish finder before. This series will show my process for the install of the display unit, the transducer and the battery. Ultimately I have no idea what o was or am doing, LOL. I hope this works. Tight lines y’all.

You could drill 1/2 inch hole in the back of your dry pod so the wires are all hidden unless you think water would get in you dry pod

Good video. Not a kayak person but by showing your mistakes it might help someone else to not making same mistake. Come on spring. Lol started mounting my lowrance elite ti2 and got as far as getting everything done on bow and console except mounting transducers. Got covid and shut me down. Now that I defeated that it’s 3 degrees out and my garage isn’t heated. May not get it finished now till I get back from Keys. My boy wants me to stay down there but have to get back by first week of April for my first bass tournament

Haven’t turned it on yet. Been watching a lot of you tube videos and they look good. I bought mine before Christmas from bass pro on Black Friday sale for 599. Then couple weeks it went back to 899. And yesterday got a flyer and they are back to 599. Only problem I had mounting on my dash was it was too big and hit windshield. So ordered a mount where I could off set it. Can’t get it on water till ice out. I am in Indiana and was 3 degrees this morning

So how is the finished setup working out? I went with the Scotty way.... just trying to figure out where to place the battery and clean up the wires...I just might go this route later though. Where's Part 3?
I have not finished it yet. My 3rd child interrupted the deal. LOL. I bought a through hull wiring kit from yakAtak and plan to place the battery and wired in the box

so i got the same garmin it should be good to mount the transducer right into the pod right and just silicon? just asking before I do so. i had my hummingbird like that but wasn't sure with this one
You can’t mount the transducer straight to the pod it will not be below the hill enough. You have to add about an inch of material to the bottom of the pod and mount your transducer to that.
Why does the transducer need to be dropped down so far? I thought it just had to be submerged? Does it also need to be away from the hull?
Not sure as it’s my first transducer. On the instructions to mount it to a boat it would be submerged below the hull of the boat. So I wanted to make sure it was submerged slightly below the hull of the kayak.

if you have a side scan transducer like hummingbird the transducer needs to clear the hull so there wouldn't be hull interference
