The Moose that fed a forest: a Brown Bear’s hunt and its consequences [Captions]

A brown bear was looking for food before hibernating. It stumbled upon a moose that was stuck in peat and killed it. We discovered the moose carcass while tracking the bear and decided to install a camera-trap to monitor the activity around it. Wolves, wild boar, foxes, raccoon dogs, pine marten came to feed on the moose, but the bear never came back.

great video as always but a little upsetting... I'm surprised that the moose can get stuck, presumably on a familiar territory, so hard as to become easy prey.

This is a common hunting method also for wolves in Naliboki terrain, which has many drainage channels. Bisons can also get stuck to death in these channels, even without being chased by a predator.
