Just seeing how many unfinished spaces there are make me so excited to know that we have more MCM makeovers to look forward to as I am sure you are looking forward to putting your personal style into those spaces 😍🥰
I never realized how huge your house was! I didnt know there was an entire finished basement on top of 3 guest rooms! What an absolutely dream. I am obsessed with all the updates you've made since we last saw it. Cant wait for more!
With all the technology we have today you could make that room into a library and a media room. You have the skills to put those two things together and make it beautiful. I didn’t realize how huge your house actually was. I get an even better sense now seeing all the big pieces of furniture that you’ve like moved around and stuff. It’s really beautiful Becky it’s stunning.
Laundry room next! Also, I think the small transition room would make a great library nook with secret storage behind it for all your marketplace finds.
Instead of rebuilding your little rice paper sliding door I personally would do a lightweight full length mirror with hinges so it swings open like a door and then you can do jewelry storage on the backside of it. I would just get a super cheap mirror and then make my own frame with nicer wood
That is a better idea than what I had. It would look more intentional too than the little window to nowhere, although I'd be scared to put jewelry on the back because it could fall off into that space and be difficult to retrieve.
@@DigsRetro Maybe if there was a shelf at the bottom of the mirror? Below the jewelry side of course, just in case? With a raised edge so nothing can slide done when you "open" the mirror.
The guest wing! I had forgotten about it! My vote is to make the pass through room a moody library and lean into not having a window with some cozy lamps!
I think it makes most sense for you to redo the laundry room first since it is something you use constantly but isn't a super big space to just "get over with" and be able to be more productive after. After that the transition room so that when you do the big bedroom overhaul and you have to walk through that more often you don't have to stare at the mess all the time!
I vote for laundry room next - it’s such an important space in the home that you USE constantly. Bedroom can wait- it’s functional for now, and given the scale of work you want to do, you can knock out the laundry room quicker.
I love the teal chairs. They give that pop of color and it makes the house cohesive with the blue painted outside and the little lamp in the bedroom. Your house makeover is the most fun thing to watch. It's such a unique style.
Thank you for this realistic house tour! Finishing making over a full house takes time, especially when sourcing every thing second hand. It makes me feel better about my place as a work in progress. Love you guys!
So, Becky, for the windowless room I agree with the little library. You can make a DIY version of the bookcases you have on the top floor, add the electric fireplace and maybe the orange sofas or the day bed or some other comfy seating, then add cushions and blankets and Bob's your uncle. I'm pretty sure that if you shop around your house you can make this room like new with few dollars!
Hello! I vote for the laundry room next because the bedroom is a spring/summer project, maybe. Also the library in that extar room sounds awesome. Chat soon 🫶✌️
I wouldn’t use the small windowless room as a media room- I’d use the basement for that! Big, cozy home theatre!!! Use it as a pass-through library nook! ❤📚
That little sliding closet window thingy would look great with some frosted acrylic. Maybe you could find a retro color like from an old florescent light cover that you could trim down. Or even small acrylic squares in different colors glued in from the back so you don't see the seams.
Laundry room makeover first! I'm so excited to see the big changes you would make! For the transition room, I really like the idea of it being a library with the electric fireplace. I think if you could add a window, it would look super cozy! But it looks like it might be a tight fit for more than 2 people. Some other ideas include: (1) walk in closet with a makeup vanity. (2) an office space (3) If you could take down the wall between transition room and guest bedroom: you could make it into a giant bedroom. Or MY FAV IDEA: if you don't need that many bedrooms, you could make it into a giant media + library room so more people can hang out in the space at once. AND you can add another coffee, wine, snack bar so you don't have to climb upstairs to get any food and drinks. (4) And you can move the gym equipment and build a giant gym in the basement!
Im so glad that the orange place moved away from the living room 😂 the bookshelves and the planet lamps and the Togo chairs … my lord ! Is the comfiest coolest place ever ! ❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite things is seeing you all rearrange your items and give them a new life. I love that the orange couch has been in multiple spots instead of just getting tossed and replaced, a good inspiration that just changing it up every now and then can really be a game changer, without having to purchase new items. Also my suggestion for the current storage room would definitely be media room. Take advantage of the lack of windows, plus it would be nice for guests to have a little private "living room" area separate than the main floor they can use. I would hate to have a library with no natural light for reading by, especially when you have so many other great spaces in the house that do have excellent lighting.
First I want to say how much I love ❤ your retro home. I was raised in the 70's recognize so much😀 when I saw your storage room and then the electric fireplace in the guest room. I thought it would be nice for a book nook library with a cozy chair, the firplace, warm lighting and of coarse retro record player with of coarse vintage LP's from you know the 70's I can see it in my head. A cozy place just for you to wind down oh leave the cell phone in another room😁
Thank you for this tour! The house is so interesting (that circle window is awesome) and how nice to have so many guest rooms. I would like to see the laundry room reno next. It looks quite challenging so I’m excited to see what you do with it. I’m guessing Rochelle will be involved. 😉 But I’d also like to know Kelsey’s thoughts. Just want to say I’m so glad the orange couches are in the game room. They were a bit worn to be in your beautiful living room and the chairs you replaced them with are super cool.
It's so refreshing to see all of the "unfinished" spaces. Your home is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to see the updates you do over time, but it's so nice to see how much of a process it is. Very easy to get discouraged when my home is a work in progress, always, so it's nice to see that yours is as well!
I just looove the shelves you thrifted and the whole coffee bar! your house is so warm and cozy too! next I'd like to see the laundry room makeover since it will take time to make over the bedroom. maybe the laundry room would be a nice not-so-grand project to do!
In that extra room leading to the guest rooms it would be cute to create a kitschy retro ski lodge like lobby lounge space since it’s almost like your own little bed and breakfast down there with all those rooms.
Your house already has multiple great reading spots, so out of those two ideas, I would say a media room sounds amazing! Create that super cozy vibe with the feeling of being in a private theater, that would be so cool, especially in the Mid Century style (if you went that route of course). A small fitness area also seems like a great idea if that is something that will serve you both. I am very excited at all the rooms left to make over, I cannot wait to see what you create and how it all comes together.
Look, I'm one of the reading nook fans for that windowless room and I maintain, that you could do the coolest thing ever with that space. It is screaming for a bookcase, hidden passage door. (Or make that the way into the basement.) Love the work y'all have put into it!
All of the not done spaces make me feel sooo much better! I have such a strong feeling of the whole house needing to be fixed up and styled ASAP and it's stressful!
Thx for your. You’ve done a great job, so far. If you are financially ready to tackle your bedroom next, that is where my vote goes. If not, I’d like to see what you do with laundry room. ❤
For the passthrough room, I love the ideas of a library/media room but as you have an entire basement that looks like there's a lot of space to work with, it would be cool to have a media room/library space there so that there's a greater chance of that space being used. The passthrough room could be made into a music space for Austin. That way, the guest rooms are just that. Even though it's common for guest spaces to be multipurpose, I feel funny when staying in other people's houses because of this. It feels like I'm intruding into someone else's space or that they can't use the space as they usually can because I'm using it.
I absolutely love what you did with your house Becky, especially the main living. I don’t know how I feel about how the ‘game’ room changed from when it was also your studio..and by that I mean that it just doesn’t look cohesive to me. Excited to see what you’ll do with the other rooms, I definitely agree with the comment about the reading nook.
The electric fireplace could go into the larger basement space where you could section off and set up a media room, and the media room that you planned could instead be a storage area pass through hall space (more welcoming and less awkward for guests so they don't feel like they're interruptive & because it feels like an intended passable space before proceeding towards the guest rooms) where you can set up a place to keep empty luggage + a small bench/cabinet area to keep coats/hats/shoes/etc.gear for the garage entry. Plus with the guest bathroom being nearby as they go from a passable space, it can come across as efficiently functional. I get the pegboard walls in the laundry room help with heat & humidity, but proper vents would help with that, perhaps doing what you did in the rec room and raising the roof if you can to decrease claustrophobia, especially since you're dealing with large appliances in such a small space. Conversely, you could turn that laundry room into a small washer & dryer (combos take up less room) space for guests (who can privately clean their items without asking you ) & convert part of the basement for household laundry (which is roomy enough to convert into a media room with a kitchenette, a main laundry room, a convertible gym & a place for extra storage). Also for the smallest guest room, maybe convert it into a library/reading/quiet work area for guests & put that daybed you have in the master bedroom, which would allow for sleep space & would fit without being overcrowded. Or the daybed could go into the media room as a lounge area & convertible extra sleep area., but that's really up to you. If I think of something else, I'll edit it in, but otherwise I hope these ideas help.
Becky - I can't click fast enough when I see a video pop up w/a new home project you've got going in this wonderful, spacious house! You have done such a professional job & really upped the functionality of the spaces you have touched. And it's always wonderful to see your MCM inspired aesthetic on a space! I look forward to whatever you do next!! 💛💚🤎🧡
Been anticipating this video for a long time and you really delivered! What a beautiful place. So much hard work and deliberation has really paid off. Thanks for sharing it with the world! ❤
Oh yes. I know it’s not priority but the kitchen plz. Would suggest using the same tiles from your ‘coffee station.’ Or - the bedroom. We love big projects to follow. I’m not a fan of the seventies style, having lived through it ☺️ (born 1952) but enjoy your colour choices. I too have Autumn colours around my flat - except my bedroom which is has lots of rich red, aubergine & purple mmm! 🇬🇧
Little room would be great as a reading nook room/library space. Dark and moody since no windows. Could use electric fireplace in that room as well. Would be a nice little hideaway room. Big leather club chairs .
I like the idea of that storage space becoming a library. Or you could turn it into a workout space since you have the walls for a big TV, and the weights are already right there. Or make it an official storage/utility space and put up shelving since it is off of the laundry anyways.
I think when you are finally ready to do the main bedroom Reno that that MCM electric fireplace from the guest bedroom should move to the main bedroom because it’s just so awesome! It seems like it might work better in that corner too
You can use that extra space that connects the guest room as a guest are in general, specially since you still have the basement to do a bigger media area. Like it'd be cute to have like a library-book nook or lounging area... Because sometimes guests want to feel more private for night time routines, etc... idk
The transition room could become a “zen den” like a technology free space where you could read, meditate and create. Or the idea of a media/movie den is also cute!
Your current storage room would be a great central place for a home gym for yourself and visiting guests. Your house is HUGE! The laundry room needs to be done next.
Oh wait last comment I would love to see you do the laundry room ! The one thing when we were looking for a house that I really really wanted was the laundry room and I just have like a little alcove. I guess you could call it just you know a spot where my washer and dryer go and then you can put like a door in front of it or whatever so I would love to see what you do with the laundry room. Maybe I’ll get some ideas even though I don’t have a big room. I love the stuff you do so I’ll probably pick something up from you lol
Laundry room and the landing area that leads to the basement and garage. Would you repurpose the pegboard or get rid of it all together? My favorite is the coffee bar.
The triangular fireplace needs to go in the master suite. What a statement it would make. You can put the fireplace insert that’s currently in the master in the future library/ media room. Picture a mid century modern library with built in fireplace and a pull down screen with projector.
While your style is not really mine, I can clearly see your personality reflected in your design and it just looks so cohesive and well-made, really nice! One thought about the "passing-through" room when you said maybe a little library - didn't you say in one of your many previous videos that you don't really enjoy reading? 😅 I was thinking maybe it could be a little lounge area for all your guest bedrooms, then there is a place to relax as well when someone wants to enjoy some more quiet time away from the living room but also doesn't have to go directly to bed. I know I enjoy that when visiting family 😅
I think the electric fireplace could work in your window-less bonus space. It's hard to think where else to put it since you already have the electric fireplace in your bedroom and the stove in the main living space. But its also such a small space, it might be fun to go psychedelic in there with black lights, beanbags, and a hi-fi.
OK, you just finished the tour and I thought you had the house mostly done. I can’t believe how many rooms and for some reason I thought that was the downstairs I had no idea you had a basement on top of it. I just can’t wait to see what else you do. I absolutely love your style! I think your house is so beautiful. If I had idisposable money, I would beg you to come to my house. I have a log cabin and style it for me because I am awful at stuff like that. It’s just a mishmash of all the different things I like, but I want it to feel like a log cabin you know, rustic and quaint anyways it’s been amazing watching you girls over the years and seeing you in your own homes doing all the creative things and making it your own it’s been really cool to watch. Sorry for run-on sentences or what not I’m doing text to speech speech. I’m sorry speech to text lol😮
How about a little kitchenette/coffee bar in the pass through room. A place for guests to grab a snack, read a book, just a quiet place for someone to relax or be by themselves when they need to.
I love everything about this house but one thing that crossed my mind was what if you swap the laundry room and your closet. It had so much more space!
If it’s energy efficient enough I’d put the funky fireplace in the room with the pool table. I have a similar room that’s I how I hope to have it one day but for now it’s a dumping ground that’s always cold
You guys have done A LOT of work! Congratulations! You're making your home Your Home. I'd love to see you do the laundry room first before tackling the master bedroom. Give yourself a little break and, laundry like dishes, is always there and always needs to be dealt with. It will actually make doing the bedroom easier if you have a pleasant place to do your laundry. I would move the black chair out of the living room. It doesn't work visually. It's a great chair but needs to be somewhere else so it doesn't cramp the brown sectional and chair's style. Seriously, that's the only bit that bothered me. Good on you! You did well!
Just seeing how many unfinished spaces there are make me so excited to know that we have more MCM makeovers to look forward to as I am sure you are looking forward to putting your personal style into those spaces 😍🥰
so many makeovers to come!!! 🧡
I never realized how huge your house was! I didnt know there was an entire finished basement on top of 3 guest rooms! What an absolutely dream. I am obsessed with all the updates you've made since we last saw it. Cant wait for more!

Ohhh yes! a projector tucked into some book cases!
yes!! projector to pull down in front of the bookcases when wanted is perfect
Fun tour! That downstairs hanging fireplace would look great in the games room -- which you said was cold in the winter ---
👍
I was thinking the exact same thing!!
Laundry room next!
Also, I think the small transition room would make a great library nook with secret storage behind it for all your marketplace finds.
Yes, I think the laundry room next is cool. It looks like a scary room now.. 😭😭
Instead of rebuilding your little rice paper sliding door I personally would do a lightweight full length mirror with hinges so it swings open like a door and then you can do jewelry storage on the backside of it. I would just get a super cheap mirror and then make my own frame with nicer wood
Great idea!
LOVE this idea!
That is a better idea than what I had.
It would look more intentional too than the little window to nowhere, although I'd be scared to put jewelry on the back because it could fall off into that space and be difficult to retrieve.

Laundry room next! Small room i would move the electric fireplace and make a library/cozy room.
that's a good idea!
Also the bits of blue in the amazing quilt map tie them in 💙
Thank you for this realistic house tour! Finishing making over a full house takes time, especially when sourcing every thing second hand. It makes me feel better about my place as a work in progress. Love you guys!

The 70’s house is my favorite project 😍 I can’t wait to see what else Becky will do 😍😍😍
I completely forgot you had a whole mostly finished basement, that's wild! Such a great purchase/find - I can tell you're loving it. 💜
Love that 70's home ❤❤❤❤
The little Danny curtain is so precious
Congratulations such a beautifully home. I love the 70s also the fashion, the music, the dancing! 😂❤
Edit: Hi Rochelle.
The laundry room is a big one! You’ll just have to wait and see 😉
This is my dream house!!
Becky! It’s so beautiful and so you and Austin and Danny. I’m glad you have a warm comfy and sassy home!
What an INSANE space. I love it so much- you killed it.
Your house already has multiple great reading spots, so out of those two ideas, I would say a media room sounds amazing! Create that super cozy vibe with the feeling of being in a private theater, that would be so cool, especially in the Mid Century style (if you went that route of course). Loved this video 🥰 the finished spaces are amazing but also appreciated seeing the unfinished spaces. Makes DIY feel approachable and fun and doable❤
So glad you loved it! ❤️ DIY happens slowly and at your own pace
team library!!! that would be an amazing use for that space. complete with cozy warm lighting and a tea corner omg
Definitely the laundry room next!
All of the not done spaces make me feel sooo much better! I have such a strong feeling of the whole house needing to be fixed up and styled ASAP and it's stressful!
The walk through room would be a fun library, gaming area with the electric fireplace imo ❤ look forward to move amazing makeovers
Every rooms you've changed looks like a dream, can't wait to see the rest of makeovers
Wow this house was built in a really cool way. So many awesome spaces.
Thx for your. You’ve done a great job, so far. If you are financially ready to tackle your bedroom next, that is where my vote goes. If not, I’d like to see what you do with laundry room. ❤
What a beautiful home!! I’m excited to see future makeovers!! 😊🩷

Love your style! Love mdc! Great job!
I absolutely love what you did with your house Becky, especially the main living. I don’t know how I feel about how the ‘game’ room changed from when it was also your studio..and by that I mean that it just doesn’t look cohesive to me. Excited to see what you’ll do with the other rooms, I definitely agree with the comment about the reading nook.
the empty space above the playroom was insulation. Air pockets are great insulators. So you made it colder in there to have 10 cm of extra roof hight.
That window over the kitchen sink aaaaarghhh 🤩🤩
There’s a whole basement as well 😮😮 Omigosh excited to see what you guys will do with that space and all the other spaces you have yet to work on!!
I love the floor plan of this home
Your house is amazing! You’ve already done so much, but I’m glad that there’s still more to do because I love seeing you work on your spaces.
You are so fun to watch and I love your energy and vibe!
Aw, that means so much, thank you! 🤩
Your home is a beautiful reflection of you, as a home should, in my opinion. ❤
Put the second fireplace in the cold games room! Could be a good entertaining space
If I think of something else, I'll edit it in, but otherwise I hope these ideas help.
Laundry please, then walkthrough space & finally the spare bedrooms, or possibly a music room. Whatever you do, I’m here for it! ✊🏾
Would enjoy the laundry room makeover for sure.
Dream home. Becky needs to be in an AD episode!!
Becky - I can't click fast enough when I see a video pop up w/a new home project you've got going in this wonderful, spacious house! Been anticipating this video for a long time and you really delivered! What a beautiful place. So much hard work and deliberation has really paid off. Thanks for sharing it with the world! ❤
I would love to see the laundry room get done next. I need inspo for when I redo mine!
Yes library with the electric fireplace in the weird room!!!
Oh yes. I know it’s not priority but the kitchen plz. Would suggest using the same tiles from your ‘coffee station.’
Or - the bedroom. We love big projects to follow.
I’m not a fan of the seventies style, having lived through it ☺️ (born 1952) but enjoy your colour choices. I too have Autumn colours around my flat - except my bedroom which is has lots of rich red, aubergine & purple mmm! 🇬🇧
I think elongated hexagon tiles would be perfect for the kitchen! 👩🏻🍳💋
Little room would be great as a reading nook room/library space. Dark and moody since no windows. Could use electric fireplace in that room as well. Would be a nice little hideaway room. Big leather club chairs .
Beautiful. Love seeing the finished-ish home.
I like the idea of that storage space becoming a library. Or you could turn it into a workout space since you have the walls for a big TV, and the weights are already right there. Or make it an official storage/utility space and put up shelving since it is off of the laundry anyways.
Beautiful home!
I think when you are finally ready to do the main bedroom Reno that that MCM electric fireplace from the guest bedroom should move to the main bedroom because it’s just so awesome! It seems like it might work better in that corner too
Yay I've been waiting for this! Congrats.
As someone who lives in a studio this is an insane amount of space.
You can use that extra space that connects the guest room as a guest are in general, specially since you still have the basement to do a bigger media area. Like it'd be cute to have like a library-book nook or lounging area... Because sometimes guests want to feel more private for night time routines, etc... idk
That electric fireplace would probably be great in the passthrough room :)
Submit your space to inferior interiors or DIY SOS. We would love to help you out!=
Laundry room and the landing area that leads to the basement and garage.
Just painting the walls in the bedroom would make such a huge difference. The same white as around the closet
Obsessed. Want to see the bedroom makeover please and thanks
Beautiful!!!
Love the style so much!!!
I love your house.
Thanks for sharing! Interesting to watch!
I think the electric fireplace could work in your window-less bonus space. It's hard to think where else to put it since you already have the electric fireplace in your bedroom and the stove in the main living space. But its also such a small space, it might be fun to go psychedelic in there with black lights, beanbags, and a hi-fi.
The electric fire would look great in the games room I would love to see you do the laundry room
I didn’t even know there was a whole basement too 😂 this house is big!! You could easily keep all your second hand finds there too
love the library nook idea as the entry to the guest rooms - was there a door to that room? even opening that up would be so nice
Love your videos!
Please do the laundry room next!
Why not put peel and stick backsplash so it gives you a better tile to look at in the meantime?
Beautiful!! I vote laundry room we can all use help with those!
I just love your house!
I want to change your front door for sure and all the original doors . I think they should be sleek with mod hardware.
Ooh do the laundry room next, just so I can get inspo for my own laundry room ✨mine has about the same level of pizazz as yours right now lol
Nice home, congrats!
