You can have negative decibels if the sound recorded is less than the reference sound. The reference sound in this instance would be the lower limit of average human hearing. This means that the sound recorded in the room is below what an average person or possibly any person can detect.
About the lactose intolerance: my grandma went into hospital for about a year for breaking her pelvis. When she came out, she lost all lactose intolerance and now we eat ice cream together. Not sure how this worked but I'd be grateful for any ideas! Love your content btw!
Is it possible at the hospital one of the medicines they gave her (and that she never had before) had a weird reaction with her body and somehow reset her system?
I haven't looked into it at all but something I noticed with both myself and my brother is that we both gained and lost gluten intolerance upon moving through different homes. 4 different homes over the past 12 years and with 2 of the houses we had gluten intolerance. You're grandma was in the hospital for so long I wonder if the environment somehow cleared up her allergy, or if it might revert after a while, given that I don't know the living situation at all.
Im lactose intolerant but i still eat ice cream, cheese, milktea, and yogurt. I dont drink milk though. Milk seems to give me the worst stomach feeling out of all those dairy products that i eat.
Actually a lot of people confuse true intolerances with food hypersensitivity or even just irritable bowel syndrome etc. The difference is that hypersensitivities are more unspecific and might be caused by a combination of microbiome, stress, irritants in the food etc. and (while hard to treat causatively because of its multifactorial mechanism) don’t consistently cause problems. True intolerances on the other hand (while also being a somewhat heterogenous group depending on which specialist you listen to) most commonly have some major determining causative mechanism accompanied by very severe symptoms when ingesting the causative agents. For lactose intolerance, it’s the actually physiological (!) decrease in lactase production (a gene that breaks down lactose for absorption through the enterocytes the enzyme is bound to) based on epigenetic modulation of the encoding gene which normally isn’t reversible. For gluten intolerance (or celiac disease) there’s a mix of immune and autoimmune reactions triggered by the major gluten proteins as well as some gluten digesting proteins secreted by the intestines which also normally isn’t reversible. You might actually have self-diagnosed a hypersensitivity syndrome wrongly as true intolerance which could be the reason why the symptoms seemed to change. Additionally, for maldigestive syndromes (e.g. sensitivity to lactose) a big symptom driver is the fact that anything osmotically active in the intestine that cannot be absorbed A) draws moisture out (meaning diarrhea) and B) can be further digested by intestinal bacteria to some nasty end products. So a change in microbiome could actually also have an effect here (modulating both the immune system and the breakdown of malabsorbed food). Tl;dr: There’s an oftentimes missed difference between “mere” hypersensitivity and true intolerance (the latter being consistently more severe). The microbiome and a lot of other common health factors (diet, physical activity etc.) may influence both types (but maybe more noticeably the former) positively.

Dr. Mike you’re amazing thank you for donating so much to help so many people. You’re a really kind guy. About the tattoo, I think the tattoo should be a QR code that leads to a rick roll. That way it’s really funny and I think Ryan might like that. Let him choose the spot. Maybe on his shoulder where it is visible if he wants it to be.
FUN FACT related to the lactose intolerance part. I was full-on allergic to dairy products, if I even licked a product that had TRACES of milk protein, my lips would itch, my face would get swollen, and in the worst case (happened twice), I had to go to the hospital due to difficulties breathing and extreme swollenness in the face and neck. At 10 years old, my doctor recommended a "procedure" that was only being tested back then. I basically went to the hospital, drank 1mL of milk, then waited there to see results. If I had any reaction, the following week would repeat the same amount, if not, then it moved to 2mL, then 5, then 10, etc etc. (don't remember the exact amounts). After a year and a half (there were pauses) I could drink an entire glass of milk without having any issues. Then for 3 more years I had to carry antihistamines and cortisone in my bag wherever I went, just in case. for that amount of time, every once in a while, I had allergic reactions to milk products, like ice cream, cheese, yogurt, etc. It's been almost 10 years since then, and I'm regularly drinking milk (with coffee or cocoa, I don't like milk alone), eating cheese, ice cream, yogurt, and every type of dairy product out there. I no longer have to read every single label of every single product to check if it had traces of proteins and stuff like that. Wanted to share this life story just because I want people to know one thing: Listen to your doctors, even if it doesn't seem like it, they ALWAYS try their best for you to live the best life you can. That doctor I had back then was the best I could've imagined, she basically changed my life forever, and for the better. I will forever be grateful to healthcare in my city and country. They may be slow and tedious, but they're there to help, and they really want to. Thanks for coming to my TED talk
Wait, lactose intolerance then you say allergy to a milk protein? So which one is it? Milk allergy or lactose intolerance, they’re different things since lactose intolerance is when there isn’t enough lactase enzymes to break down lactose, but allergy’s are when your body stresses when it detects a specific protein in a bad way, either way it’s a cool thing to know about
I will reply to my own comment, I re-read your comment and saw that it sad “related to lactose intolerance part” my bad, but I’ll use my comment to teach people about the difference I guess

Wanted to share this life story just because I want people to know one thing:
Listen to your doctors, even if it doesn't seem like it, they ALWAYS try their best for you to live the best life you can.
Also that’s a cool story, I understand why it works and the precautions, the human body’s nature it astounding
@@Th-Rbt yeah I said related, mine was allergy to the protein, still, appreciate the comparison for people who don't know
@@GDOmegaT yeah my bad 😅

Fun fact about the eye adjusting to the dark, pirates wore eye patches so when the walked below deck they already adjusted to the dark. They would switch the eye patch over to the other eye while below and then that eye would be used the next time.
I didnt know that :O

My brother was loctose intolerant, and he overcame it by drinking small amounts of milk for a few days and then increasing the amount again and again.
not true
@@notthatntg well, he used to be loctose intolerant, but he can have dairy products just fine now. We used to give him small amounts of milk or yogurt and it seems to have worked.
Works for some to build up the right enzymes. Not for others.
@@MiniKittylover he's my brother. How could I not know him?
Sounds like a milk protein allergy rather than lactose intolerance.
