Thanks!!!
Thanks again for having me, buddy!!!
Hair Metal, cool guitar gear, horror films! I think we are brothers from other mothers.
You nailed that Autograph solo perfectly! 🙌🏼 I've always loved the song and the solo. Cool thing, that it made the list.
Dude you nailed that 18 and Life solo....so damn good.
Uncle Ben looking like he could have played another solo simultaneously with his feet. You could at least try to fake that these old school gunslingers challange you, mate. Awesome work, though.
Hello Ben🤘
Damn Mike, you did some heavy lifting with this one… you played some really great solos that have a lot of difficult to recreate quirks in them perfectly! Thanks for having me on board for this one… I hope to see Grocki playing the WL “Wait” solo on bass for the finally.. 🤣🤞🤘
Thanks Carl. Great having you on. Let me know if you’re up to doing a solo on the big finale. It’s gonna be insane! :))
@@TheArtofGuitar for sure! I’m down 💪
Great solo teacher! I liked how you used the same guitar that you used in your lesson for the solo. Great looking guitar!
You both are my ideals
Carl, it was so cool to see you in this video! My eyes popped out of my head as I noticed it was you. ☺️
Love that you including the less shreddy solos of Def Leppard, they just serve the song so well without going overboard.
That's why I went with the top songs, not solos. Sure we could do all the fastest and most impressive solos but I really think the songs are what I really love even if the solos in those songs aren't the most "impressive." :)
Came out great Mike! Thanks for having me... humbled to be jamming with so many great guitarists (shout out to my man Carl!)
PS - Congrats on 700k!!!
I always love the camera shake you've got. Makes me feel like I'm at a concert and the speakers are vibrating everything. :) Thanks for being a part of it!
Dude I remember you from the almost easy guitar solo contest. It’s so cool to see how far you’ve come over the years.
@@BRETTLYBOOST YOOOOO!!!! NO F'ING WAY! lol. that was my 1st video I ever uploaded.... I took many years off and really only started going strong on YT for the past 3 yrs, but thanks for remembering a nobody like me!
bro you did the best on this vid, your style is amazing!
Yo yo yo!!!
Thanks for including me again, what a blast! Well done everyone!
Dokkens Heaven Sent is an underrated masterpiece. That solo is so sick
George played some awesome solos but Heaven Sent to me is my favorite. It sounds like a guitar being tortured!✌️🤘
That's the one I thought he did the worst on
@@michaelblack9458 George has a tuff vibe to try and duplicate
@@christopherlyons9367 my favorite is still Dream Warriors , but heaven sent is close

Great video Mike! I wonder what the Number One spot is gonna be... (please don't start playing Stairway again) 😳
Sir you’re the comment we deserve
This series is so enjoyable. Puts a smile on my face, watching everybody tearing it up. Was a thrash head in the 80s, but hair metal bands had killer guitarists. That Heaven Sent solo 🔥
Same here! I’m not sure why I made fun of C.C. Deville back in the day. He shreds!
@@colepearson5924 It was the thing to do, to laugh at hair metal. But Dokken was often outside of the ridicule because of Lynch. And Ratt had DeMartini and Crosby. The riffs those two wrote...
Holy schnikies! Carl NAILED Sykes' tone on ''Is This Love''.
That Def Leppard one really got to me. I realized how long its been since I listened to that song, and how great it is. Steve Clark was such an amazing guitarist, but he never really got the credit he deserved, and then he died so young. Thank you keeping his music alive.
I think Randy E. wins for having the guitar with the most character. Man that thing has a soul of its own!
Nice work! Special shout out to Uncle Ben on the Autograph solo. Saw them open for Motley Crue back in the day. Good times. lol
That winger solo was played masterfully dude. Great job
Yes indeed ! Reb beach has a really unique and almost impossible to replicate style especially when he taps .. the dudes hands just work differently and he’s able to get this super smooth ,
Fluid and soulful legato sound when he’s ripping it up and it’s so hard to replicate the smoothness he plays with . You did an amazing job mike ! Nailed all of them this was so enjoyable to watch
Watching dude play Heaven Sent made me appreciate the original even more. That's a beast of a solo, props for giving it a go. Looked like a workout.
Dude that heaven sent solo is so good
I was SO damn happy to hear the 'Turn Up Your Radio' solo! Always been a favourite song 🙌
The solos of Mick Mars are fine but I always found his rhytm work more intriguing to learn for myself.
Love pink Jacksons too!
I’m not really big into ballads, but the Is the Love solo by Whitesnake is just so damn MELODIC! You could just sing it
Good seeing you here jason!
The XYZ song What keeps me lovin you is too.
Metal Jesus
Stoked to see/hear the High Enough solo. It's wah-nderful.
Same! I am 43 now. I remember watching this one on MTV when I was in my early early teens. I have always loved this song.
Everyone KILLED it! Great job guys!
And Mike! That Heaven Sent solo!! 😳😳. Thanks for reminding me of why Lynch is one of my all time favorite players! 🤘🤘
Uncle Ben!
Hi!
That dokken solo tho 🤘
All right Randy! Woohoo!
80’s for a guitar guy was everything 🤙🤘
Great job !! Broke out Carl Brown !!
Excellent video! Looking forward to the next installment.
Edit: Carl's tone is top fn tier!
1:58 Man George Lynch in his prime wrote some absolutely insane solos.
Definitely.. It always sound like he could lose it at any moment! Almost sounds like he's falling down the stairs.. Absolute genius!
The solo on Into the Fire is in my top 5 all time. Makes the song imho
@@fullhog you high? The instrumental was a masterpiece and thankfully that Dokken shits over with, he's touring right now and he sounds dead nuts, but he's a monster in the studio and live he could play every solo he's done note for note, he's a professional but he is all about feel, and I know what your saying there's a few times he's drifted out to far but it's all improv, feeling, the most unique feeling and expression out there
Nice to see see some appeciation for Heaven Sent. That solo is goddamn incredible. For a few seconds i can't even tell what in the hell is going on or how he does it even when i am seeing it done right in front of me. So very good playing sir! Same for all these guys. Nice job!
The whole Back For The Attack album is a guitar clinic.
CARL!!!!
Warrant and Skid Row definitely knew how to inject the perfect guitar solo into their songs. Great stuff.
I loved the first video and the second did not disappoint (especially seeing Carl). Cant wait for the final video!
Man Carl killed it!!!!
That Heaven sent solo kicked some ass man 🤘🤘🤘
I love the fact that CC Deville's solo's are on here more than a couple times... He was the wildest lead guitarist to come out of the 80's. He did love him some Floyd Rose though...
I see what you did there
Don’t forget.. Warrant’s Cherry Pie solo is also from CC! One of my gave guitarist who is no too technical but melodic and soulful
@@ibenimages I know. And you can SO tell it's CC.
@@ibenimages I was going to say the same thing but figured someone else mentioned it first. I always wondered if that's why Jani says 'trained professional' right at the end of the solo.😆
Imagine an alternate universe where KK stayed in Megadeth and CC joined Slayer.
Glad you Carl in there.
Heaven sent deserves to be way higher! The solo is one of the finest by mr. Lynch and it sounds magical in the song. Also really tricky when it comes to technique.
Watchin this series makes me feel like a teenager again. Thanks man
That pink Jackson is just pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥😤
That was sooo killer! C.C.! 🤘🏼👍🏼
80s/90s solos were so freekin amazing
Heaven Sent! Love it!
Most melodic solos are 30 years old..... crazy to think that. But it's true.
Thank you for putting this together!!!
You guys all killed it in this video! Can’t pick a favorite but “Heaven Sent” brought back good vibes and “Is This Love” gave me chills. I could watch a million of these.
autograph is underrated
There's just something about a good hair metal solo that speaks to me. Why? No idea, but it does. The guitar just seemed to convey more emotion and continue the story or feeling of the song. It almost felt like the solo was the most important and melodic verse of the song being sung by the guitar. Don't get me wrong, there was plenty of garbage during that time, but the great stuff was truly pleasure to experience.
There better be some White Lion in the next countdown. 😁
This is so cool. I love hearing the old stuff played through modern equipment. It sound heavier.
Never saw that Heaven Sent solo, Lynch left some outstanding parts. It's very hard to replicate.
Love that you included Warrant, Poison, and Skid Row. ‘Look what the cat dragged in’ is a great opening song for Poison concerts, but CC always teases with the riff to Valley of Lost Souls in the beginning. What a tease, I want to hear that song live.
The Demo version of Dr Feelgood on one of the relic albums is so heavy.
What some amazing stuff!!! DOKKEN and AUTOGRAPH were killer. All were amazing!!
The best youtuber players and teachers....I love that you came all togheter for this stuff..Thanks for so many hours of learning and having a good time here sharing with so many people, too!
Reb Beach and George Lynch. You definitely drew the short straw. Awsome playing.
I can only dream of being able to play all those. I love the fact that I have some kindred spirits still around and laying it down!!!
Ben is my fave, not to jab anyone else. Ben has the taste in music and chill vibe. I can listen to him for days
Absolutely awesome ! Great playing all. So good to see Carl chime in also - has taught me so many killer songs. Uncle Ben …. What an era. Can’t wait for the next installment. 🔥🤘🎸
Very cool! Great playing. I took guitar lessons from Steve Lynch the guitarist for Autograph (#33) in my youth many years ago. He showed me so many licks and taught me how to tap. 30 year on I still use all his warm up and practice drills. He was one of the coolest nicest guys I've ever met. He shared a lot about the highs and lows of being a performing artist and rock star. I was lucky to know him, even though it was only for a short while.
Gotta love "Pour Some Sugar on Me", this just proves that you don't need a flashy solo to make it super memorable just a good hook is enough.
Yep! Great playing - great video - great guests!!
Fun nostalgic trip this! Don't forget about the Europe "Superstitious" solo. By far my fav hair metal solo. Overall I def prefer Norum over Kee Marcello, but Kee just nailed that sucker.
I loved both of them too , but kee never got any recognition whatsoever. He’s actually the better player in my opinion! He shreds your face off with so much melody . Fantastic player
Love this series! So many tasty leads. You could do just about every song on Skid Row's first album. Surprised November Rain already made an appearance. Figured it would be top five or ten.
A couple on here would be in my Top 10. There's def not 10 solos from this time better than November Rain and 18 and Life, imo.
When the Children Cry being as low as it was, was a crime as well 😅
That was beyond AWESOME!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes! Yes! And MORE YES!!! More hair metal!!!
Made my soul happy. Thanks for the collab.
I still have the most pink and purple guitars! 🤓🎸🤘🏻
As we say here in Boston, "That was wicked awesome!"
Everyone killed it! Shout out to Ben n Carl. And of course yourself Mike. ROCK ON 🎸
I love these videos ! It must take a lot of time to learn all of these solos and it turned out great ! I hope to see Get the Funk Out by Extreme on part 3
This is FANTASTIC! More please!
That pink jackson is a must
Uncle Ben made this video incredible. And shout-out to Carl
Is This Love...John Sykes Brilliant tone Lovely Dolly t shirt rocks it
George Lynch... NEVER GETS ENOUGH APPRECIATION... EVH said once told someone that George Lynch was the only guitar player that he felt intimidated by
You guys killed it!!! So good. So good.
That was superb and its been years since i heard autograph, have to go find it on youtube!.
Dude, you have an insane amount of expensive looking guitars. I forgot about a lot of these songs... that was fun, thanks!
Lot's of great solos in this vid. Top three are 18 and Life, November Rain and Livin on a Prayer.
👍🤟 for dokkens heaven sent! Ive always thought it was one of George's most impressive and unique solos
That's some wicked stuff right there. Great work lads!
Whenever I think I have a decent understanding of 80s metal. Art of Guitar says "hold my beer"
Wow, just amazing dude! Bravo!
I'm fully anticipating Nuno's solo from "Get the Funk Out" to be somewhere in the final episode of this series.
As a side note, maybe you and all the collaborators should also put out a video series focusing on the faces you make while playing these solos! :-)
"If that doesn't bring tears to your eyes as a guitarist, I don't know where things are."
-Brian May gushing over Nuno's Get the Funk Out solo
I love seeing good ole uncle ben!
What an amazing time for music
I dig it a lot! Thanks for putting this together!
Nicely done. That is a lot of talent over the course of all these solo clips. Rock on!
You just gotta love the lighting fast melodies of the 80’s, it will never be duplicated.
Yes, todays shedders are faster but it’s all about the hook.
Thanks! This is great! I know I am going to sound like the "Get off my lawn!" guy here, but you realize most, if not all of the songs, on this list were hitting the pop charts back in the day. How is it that pop music today truly sucks so so bad today?
Love this, cant wait for part 3!!!🤟
Thanks for doing another one of these, I really enjoy the format, please do more
Nice man George Lynch ain't no walk in the park.
Phenomenal playing!!! Love this series. Thanks for all the hard work that went into these. Keep hair metal alive!!!!
Nice! This is more my territory from the 80s, and still have most of the albums on this second part of the list. Honestly, it's soooooo refreshing to hear all of these solos done right, after hearing them butchered by so many stubborn neophytes back in the day. I can't wait to see 17 - 1! 🎸🤘
I would kill for that tab of 18 and Life solo. I have another but it's not the same as that. What a killer sounding solo
Nice vid! I should be practicing right now but here I am watching a video of solos i can't even play yet. Keep up the good work
Carl Brown!!! Hell yeah!!!!
Loved it when Mr. Carl Brown entered
& man you rocked as always ❤🔥🙌
Can’t wait till the next instalment
The Winger solo took me right back to junior high. I actually had to sigh. 😔 I remembered a whole bunch of shit from that age just listening to a recreation of that solo. Girls, hanging out, doing stupid shit. And learning guitar.
Love it! Takes me back. Great job.
Love the collabs!! Well done by all!
