*Part 10* RIFFS That Give Me the Biggest RUSH!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 жов 2020
- We made it! This will be the final Riffs video, I figure 10 is a good round number. Thanks to everyone who watched them and made this possible. I really enjoyed making these even though it was the hardest work I've ever done for a series besides the Artist's Series.

Thanks everyone!!!
I'll see you in a month with part 11 then!
I wish man, I'm retiring this. :(
@@TheArtofGuitar Well you had to eventually, better now at a nice even 10 than some cursed 13 part series
Your brother is a decent drummer. You two should start a band.
What brother?

After I uploaded I realized I said Exodus was New Testament. This is bad because when I was a kid I memorized all the books of the Bible in order. (I was bored in church) haha. Oh well. :)
Keep studying yourself approved ... God’s Word is Alive & Active, and Sharper than any Two Edged Sword 🗡 🙏🏻♥️🕊
Old Testament, their best stuff 😉
OT is a fun read.
@@finster I assume you're referring to my people. Thanks.
If there's a riff that is pure sex, it'S "still of the night"
its so good :)
What Makes You Feel Like You’re Finished with This Series?!?! We Love Them & I Hope You Hear & Feel the Inspiration to Do More!
Mike definitely has a professional collection of top-notch guitars. Good for you Mike. You deserve them and need every one! Because that's your occupation......a pro musician.
That radiohead tone was so on spot that i thought the song was also playing on the background
"Had to do it"! Absolutely! Ace's little solo in "I was made for loving you" is one FIRE!
Please dont stop this series🤘Way to much fun :)
The last time I looked in my bible, the book of Exodus was in the Old Testament, not the new one lol. Shout out to surf rock! Thank you for the 10 amazing vids! If I ever do a '10 videos that inspired me to become a better guitarist' your channel just rounded out the entire list!
Thats why metalheads like old testament better
@@Froahk True. I find Judges, 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Esther, Job, and Ecclesiastes to be the most interesting. Revelation is pretty ocol too.
aso the breakdown in Angel of Death by Slayer
I feel like this series is both him displaying his musical influences and also and excuse to subtly flex his guitar collection... I’m definitely impressed by both though lol
Yeah I agree. He has some really nice guitars. But he deserves them. Mike's a pro!
the opening riff of Questions by Xentrix is such a great rush
You shouldn't ever have to worry about being out of work. Alot of us play 6 string and bass, but drums also ? Nice work young fella
What a great way to end this series with a dedication to Eddie
7:03 Cool to see some ST, man! “3 2 1.... Action!” Good job on getting the snare sound too. Sounds like the real deal on the album.
Hey i’ve got a cool idea u should do something like “top 10 classic rock riffs” or “top 10 grunge era riffs” that kind of thing :)
I have a number of guitars too. I will usually just stick to one for months on end, but whenever I switch to a different one I feel like there's an adjustment period where I'm not quite up to par. You seem to transition from guitar to guitar very smoothly.
Well done series, I really enjoyed this.😊
your talent is amazing across instruments....
Love the video! Just stumbled upon it while surfin the Tube, and thought it was awesome. I'm going to need to check out all of the other Videos, and check out that BBQ joint because I got to the Anoka area often. Keep Rockin!!!
Something from Uncle Ted,wow, glad to see it.
I’m old so he’s cousin Ted to me. Haha.
Watched all 10 back to back!
Excellent job and thanks for all the hard work you put into these!
Stay safe!
Wow. That’s commitment! 🤘👍
One of my favourite riffs that always makes me have goosebumps is, 4th Of July by Soundgarden. It's sooooo heavy.
I've been dooming since the first time I heard that song.
That riff combined with Chris' low vocal melody in the intro is absolute perfection.
After all this years we need another 10 parts 😁🔥✌️
Great stuff! I love that Radiohead Airbag track. Especially the sparse bass line. So cool.
I came here for HELMET!
I always come for Helmet...(80’s movie reference 😛)
Looks Like Your Favorite Thing, Rock On Brother !!!!
"Just one fix" by Ministry. I love that riff
Did that in another Riffs video.
@@TheArtofGuitar nice!! I'll look for it
Ok Computer is one of my all time favorite albums! I remember when I heard it for the first time and I just couldn't stop listening after the first 2-3 song, I HAD to listen to the whole thing! It's a master piece!
that is so cool to include helmet love this band and all of the riffs you do can you please do more of these videos don’t stop
This cannot be the last one. We need more of these videos. Please, keep them coming !
The one i've been waiting for. I havent watched it yet, but i know it will be quality content ;)
I think it’d be interesting if you went through how you choose which guitar to use for each song or genre and the differences in tone between the brands/ models
One riff that really gave me a huge rush was “poison was the cure” that riff changed a lot for me especially that whole album
Idk I feel like there shoulda been at least one Eddie Van Halen Riff in there
You and me both but I had already done the drum tracks before all the sad news. 😥 I’ll release my EVH tribute when enough time has passed.
@Brad D You totally get it man. Thanks for that.
I've been enjoying this series for a while now, and it just keeps getting better! This very episode might actually be the best one yet, at least as far as the sound and production is concerned. I've always enjoyed your guitar-playing, but this whole _riff-series-thing_ seems to have been like months of "weightlifting" for you as a *PRODUCER* , and the results of that workout are really starting to show.
Great stuff!!!
Thanks for all the riff videos. I got to know a few new riffs/songs throughout this series. Also, I was happily surprised when Sabotage and Foxey Ladey kicked in. Kepp rockin'! ;)
I know Roundabout by Yes VERY well just by hearing it in Los Santos Rock Radio in GTAV.
Nitro by Dick Dale was the riff that gave me the biggest rush. So much adrenaline attached to it, very fun to play.
Thank you very much and you are very great teacher
Wtf... you’re incredible. So much fun to watch. Great stuff.
I have a feeling that there would be more, I was also hoping that there would be at least a Van Halen riff involved :(
Like the fact that you don´t stop to mainstream. Still have to watch all the videos of the series, but Helmet and Morphine. Kudos to you. Wonder if know The God Machine, Therapy?, Days of the new.
Greetings from a fellow Minnesotan! Heard you bring up KQRS and that gave me a nostalgia wave. The KQ Morning Show was a huge influence on me and I actually got to interview Tom Barnard once for a podcast I used to host back in 2012. Man, what a time.
So, Anoka has some good BBQ? I'm gonna have to check it out.
Love the channel, keep up the good work!
Yngwie jacket, Vai guitar, Metallica, Nugent , Hendrix, Sugarloaf, Dick Dale, Dokken / Lynch , Dio , etc. Riffages. 😂 You about covered all rock & metal bases. Testament & Exodus... God Gets All The Glory! 🙌🏻 Amen 🙏🏻
I really like the website. it's taught me a lot
Love this man.
The inlays on that guitar are so cool
I forgot what I used to listen in the 90s.;) Helmet was my fav band. Thanks for reminding how great they were.
10 is a nice round, even number but..... 20 is an even rounder number, dontcha think?!
I kid, I definitely enjoyed going through this whole series! Thanks, man!
I'm going to guess by most of your song choices that we're pretty close in age.
I was about to hit like on the Helmet riff when I realized I always click like at the start of all Mike's videos.
I’m here for HELMET
I was made for lovin you is a banger and I don't care what my fellow KISS fans think. Paul's versatility as a songwritter is underrated.
You need to do a whole video on your guitar collection
Evh was my biggest inspiration, I thank you for giving him this video. We all miss him, I’ve talked to wolfie, I wish I could’ve met evh
Love your tone dude
haha I was watching toto concerts the other day. I can't believe I'd never seen their taped concerts before anywhere.
I'm not sure I like this new faster editing, but I do like that you played drums. They sound really good. The recordings actually sound really good now that I listen. You should like make your own music. maybe turn out all the lights and add some tripped out low lighting, and film it.
I sooo love this series, i hope you continue this thing. I watch it straight for hours. It's so fun. If you ever continue please include songs from ugly kid joe, silverchair & candlebox. They had awesome riffs.
Great video as usual man
I have serious Jem envy... as a broke lefty, maybe one day i'll get a Jem Jr.? Currently restoring my 90s RG that is in a bad way.
I've got a 99 rg120 😳
By demons be driven, beginning and end was a thriller. Some others I was surprised never got in like the chilli peppers give it away ending part, maiden-hallowed be they name but you just keep going as you think about it.
Happy to see Helmet getting love from a big name channel.
11:39 sounds like an Alice In Chains song
definately has that grunge feel
Almost sounds like Junkhead but the chords don’t change. Haha.
Testament and Exodus back to back. Love it Mike!
Exodus is part of the Old Testament
Bro, your playing is on fire!
Helmet = instant like
All 500 riffs on and justice for all are great
Knock on the door. It's Eva Green.
You: surprised Pikachu face!
Exodus is old testament.
Dude, these videos are the bomb! Exodus into ZZ Top? WHAAAT???
That gem is awesome
Really great tones! Is that you playing the drums too? Awesome!!
Yeah, it's my one-man Covid band. hehe.
Oh, so cool! What a fun ride!
Nugent is always a pleasant surprise on these lists
That jacket is killer!
Dude I love live in a hole so much. Think it’s my favorite pantera song of all time
Finally some serious respect for a Powerage song!
Props for playing Mr. Scary 🤘🏻
I never see love for Decadence Dance! One of my favorite songs and riffs. Nuno is my third favorite guitarist of all time behind only Ace and Adrian Smith
Great! Drums sounding killer as well :)
Helmet is so killer!
Down Payment Blues is one of Eddie's favorite guitar riffs!
AJFA my second favourite metallica song, right after fade to black, that riff will always be awesome
We need a George Lynch Artists Series stat!
I’d love to see Young Lust or In The Flesh? by Pink Floyd or Love Gun by KISS (if you haven’t done it yet) for a Part 11, great as always dude
YESSS! I don't care many times my local rock station plays it, Foxy Lady is a groove.
Rainbow in the Dark! Finally!
Airbag such an underrated RH song. Great choice of riff.
Nice to see someone else who likes down payment blues. You don’t hear that one too often. 🤘🏻
Perfect ending for the list ...
6:03 IS THAT A JOJO REFERENCE
and justice for all had to be in this series
very sick jacket
Cat scratch fever my favourite !!!
What year is that Custom? I've been looking around for the perfect one to pull the trigger on.
Kiss is one of my favorite bands. Ace was my guitar hero when I was a kid.
lol exodus is in the OT
Was thinking the same thing lol. He most prolly dont read it often enough 👀
One more nit to pick. Dick Dale played a Strat, not a Mustang or whatever that was. A left handed Strat at that. The last of several times I saw him was at Slim’s in SF from literally 2ft away. His picking technique was god like.
I'll miss them
Talk about the RIFFs that gives you the biggest rush?

7:47 this has to be the heaviest riff thats not metal. its so groovy :) gotta love whitesnake.
The riff that gives me the biggest rush has got to be the riff at 7:43 in The Deported by Beyond Creation.
Also, great series. Thanks.
