This was ahead of its time. Old school 3D movies really had audience members jumping out of their seats in surprise. Just the sight of those objects coming out of the screen is enough to give anyone a jump scare.
I saw this at the cinema in 3D. It was amazing. I thought he was going to hit me with the ball! There was also a scene where Charles Bronson throws a chair seemingly into the audience.
He was: the movie was projected in 3D, so the ball would look like it would pop out the screen towards the audience. Infinitely confusing seeing it in 2D today, until you find out.
Yes, I remember seeing this in the WB re-release around then....The Barn Theater in Doylestown, PA. I had seen it growing up on TV, but seeing it on the big screen in 3D was definitely an experience you couldn't have any other way. Just like seeing "Tron: Legacy" in the theater in 3D. When Charles B. leapt up at the actor in the final fight scene, it really looked like someone from the audience front row jumped on to the screen! The guy who was the projectionist at the time later became a friend of mine. Small world.
Here's a point to make: 1 woman feels intrigued and gains interest to be a dancer just from looking at a belly dancing wax statue and then the 2 other women who had come with her feel the need to Repress her interest toward that subject all because they don't want her to Expose her body parts.
You got everything wrong 😂😂😂 this woman knows perfectly she couldn't dance like that, she obviously doesn't have the Egyptian body of the dead wax statue. They are not repressing her, they are just telling her the cruel truth 😉😉😉😉

Those paddle balls were popular in the late 50's; as a kid had several of them!
I dont know why but this favorite scene in the whole film.
I remember see it on the 3D version, and that scene was freaking good. I mean, I was sometimes like "Shit, look out!"
I love this scene. That guy is terrific.
I know that this is an horror movie but the pádel ball scene is so cute
You know, I've never seen anyone do paddle ball like that these days... I think the yoyo took it over...

They haven't updated the rating from GP to PG?
Governor William J. Lepetomane couldn't have pulled that off.
He always got the warped ones!
The factory where those were made is a couple blocks from where i live.
I assume that movie was re-released between 1967-1969 since it got a GP rating (PG).
Robert Lopresti 1953
