You should absolutely do low stress. You're an engineer. That's what you do. Make things built strong and to last, not skirt the disaster line like an architect.
The hydraulic solutions for the last level in this video were absolutely brilliant. RCE needs to get hydraulic-certified. The last set of hydraulic solutions actually make me want to get this game and play with hydraulics... but I already don't have enough time for the games I'm currently playing (Cities Skylines, Timberborn, Dome Keeper, Infraspace, Astroneer, Hydroneer, Space Engineers, and others).
Matt, the bridge broke at 3:59 because replacing the steel in the middle of the muscle with wood allowed the muscle to compress more. The muscle wasn’t as rigid because wood stretches more that steel. This additional stretchiness lead to the steel on the arch experiencing more tensile force, breaking it.
The cross over no one knew they needed between Poly Bridge and Rocket League! For those not in the know simple shark is one of if not the most renowned RL map maker
After i found your channel, i shortly after bought Poly Bridge 2. I really enjoy it, and as a soon to be mechanical engineer. I really like your content, it speaks to me.
I know the music segments started as a meme, but the fact that I've seen your music improve over the past year is kind of hilarious and wholesome to me. Which is totally juxtaposed by the particular song you chose for this video. Love it. 10/10.
"You can tell it's a bunny by the big feet." I love how everyone is so adamant about including elephant faces, bunnies with no ears, and men with really long noses on these bridges. Really shows off the creativity.
Considering that reaction when you changed the middle of a muscle and somewhere else broke, it is either that the materials have other variables such as flexibility or that the weight change caused the bridge to flex differently which put more stress on that main "arch".
I think that being an engineer is actually a disadvantage in this game, because in the game, your supposed to make the craziest thing possible, which goes against everything that you have learned
I really like the competition with Aliensrock, his videos with animation and stuff, while RCE makes songs and uses some clips over and over again. So different, but it's nice. ^^
Hydraulics are really strong. When was the last time you saw one break? They are also really expensive. So try to think of how to move the bridge in a curve rather than a straight line, then put the hydraulic close to the fulcrum.
hello matt, what if you and tyler did a poly bridge episode together where you both play the same level and see who can get the cheapest bridge but you dont reveal until a certain time and you cant see each others bridge
Recommend a video for your highest "wow-factor" solutions. Throw out the budget. Make people say, "Now THAT is an *engineer's* solution." Architects will cry.
I feel like an engineer should be absolutely smashing hydraulic levels. As well as getting Top 1% lowest stress. Because it can't get any more engineery than building a bridge that is supersafe.
Again, asking someone to name himself shaun on pb3 so the editor can put the heavy rain glitch clip... (yes, the alan bit will never bore me) Can't believe matt missed how those modified hydraulics formed RCE! I hope he says something in the next video!
Matt, play My Summer Car, i would love to see you suffering through the game, and using your engineer skills to build the car. (Before anyone asks, i know that an engineer works well, engineering things, not building cars, but still).
I've watched a lot of these now and played PB2 and PB3 and..... I've finally figured out why wood ropes bug me. Sure, wood is probably strong enough to deal with tension. But the _attachment point_ should be failing, like, every frigging time. The stress would likely split the grain or shread the ends of real wood, right? I really would like the devs to make it so that if you use a wood rope there is a breaking point for where the wood connects with the joint that, when exceeded, the joint itself fails (as opposed to the pieces itself breaking). Really, wood rope being useful should be, like, a very very uncommon thing, imo. lol, okay, done being pedantic on the internet today 😂
Day sixteen of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet. It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
It’s actually weird that there isn’t a low stress leaderboard. Seems like minimizing stress within a budget should be the primary goal of any engineer heh
you should do the 5 sheep hidden levels that aliens rock is doing the challenge where he can only use half budget max. you should try that challenge too
You can sort the gallery by low stress now. I'd love to see a low stress video.
Yes please! Low stress has the highest potential for actual engineering principles to shine!
Low stress, plz!
Maybe he can lower the amount of stress in my parents relationship
i would love it
Or the opposite, 99% stress bridges
You should absolutely do low stress. You're an engineer. That's what you do. Make things built strong and to last, not skirt the disaster line like an architect.
That’s kind of opposite of how engineering works. Making it just barely above the requisite strength is way more engineering!
@Mattman993 Naaah you wanna use your budget entirely but in a very efficient manner!
It's too easy to do it that way in this game.
No that is not how engineering works lol
“Everyone can build a bridge , but only an engineer can make a bridge almost stands”
@@Seegteaseyou don't want to use whole budget, each dolar saved is profit for the company
You missed the RCE propaganda at 20:28! The roads folded up to form the letters R on the left and C + E on the right
Thank you! my hero
came to the comments to point it out too lol. it's really clever, true engineer's propaganda
Upvote and comment, so Matt will see this
I had to remember the time for the rest of the video to make sure it was in a comment. Good job.
Sorry, but what is this RCE propaganda
20:28 Did you miss the RCE formed by the roads or just forgot to mention it? R is on the left, C top right, E bottom right.
Yes! I came here to comment the same thing! Matt was too caught up in ‘chrisnzach’s use of other hydraulics that he totally missed that Easter egg.
He should highlight this in his next video
that is a very clever design
Holy crap thats insane
E
On SC-08 Matt missed, on the bridge with extra hydrolics, it made RCE when it transformed
Adding comment so to increase probability of RCE to see it
20:26 adding a timestamp to help as well
two of them now :D @meistermelon7 mentioned it too and I was about to

One of the nice things about polybridge is you can play it when you have time, even a few minutes at a time. Although it is quite addictive.
I did not expect The Lonely Island cover but I can honestly say it's one of my favorites so far. Excellent work sir.
It literally made my day. I love that song
As I'm not American I don't know 90% of his songs. Like what I concluded from this cover is RCE shits bridges
Uhh, that’s not THAT far from what the song’s actually about
@@fanOfMinecraft-UAs_channel But RCE is British, not American.
@@goldcakes Oh yes I forgot
I still don't know 90% of his songs =]

Matt getting unironically better at singing the more he does these bits
we love to see it
yeah as a non professional singer he started as basically nails on a chalkboard and at least it's bearable now

"Bridged in My Pants" is easily my favorite cover thus far. Bravo, Mr. RCE.
same!
How RCE didn't see the RCE propaganda at 20:28
20:26 Matt missed that the ChrisnZach127 hydraulic solution spells RCE when it is open.
I can’t wait for him to get to the “secret” 5 sheep world.
I suggested it a while ago but would love to see a low stress, under budget challenge.
Hey Matt, you should look at the lowest stress gallery so you can look at bridges that use engineering!
too bad he's an architect in disguise.
The Lonely Island parody had me ROFLing for real 😂😂.
The cross over no one knew they needed between Poly Bridge and Rocket League!
For those not in the know simple shark is one of if not the most renowned RL map maker
Matt, the bridge at 25:38 has a pretty nice budget.
I love the Alan meme, it's almost up there with niftea
Whenever I read Alan now I hear it this way 😂
its better :)

After watching the whole video i saw that he menshioned it
I never tire of seeing the strong engineering principles exhibited by the backpage of these galleries.
I think it would be fun to watch you play a series on tropico. I could see you going bananas over the politics, foreign affairs, and.. well.. bananas.
Thanks for showing the growing "squid" 25:21
Bridge in My Pants was not a cover/remake I ever expected to hear 😅
Just bought my 100th "truss me I'm an engineer" mug thanks rce for making good products and even better videos
