Thanks for the recipe for elephant toothpaste. The burning question in my mind is: how do you dispose of it? Is it bio safe? Biodegradable? Or does it need special remediation?
Fun video! I discovered the nucleation effect myself at age four, by accident, (in 1955), by dropping pretzel salt into ginger ale at my grandparents' house. I've played with this ever since, but I never thought of using popcorn! Very cool! Also, you can do the egg-into-the-bottle trick by putting some boiling water into the bottle, shaking it around to heat the air inside, then quickly dumping the water and sticking the egg on top... it takes awhile, though, for the science to happen, but you don't get ashes all over the egg! It's a variation on Mr. Wizard's "The Invisible Giant" experiment. BTW - Repeating the process makes it possible to put multiple eggs in the bottle! You do great work, Mark.

(Your h2o2 molecular model was wrong, hydrogen can’t bond to more than one thing, the oxygen is in the middle h-o-o-h) But otherwise thank you. Very fun and useful! :)
I tried the experiment where you pour the water in the glass and watch it for 3 hours and it totally worked. The water actually stayed in there the entire time!!
The egg doesn't get sucked into the bottle. Nothing sucks. When the paper burns it heats the air which expands. The air can escape the bottle because the egg is not stuck. When the air cools it's less of it in the bottle and therefore the pressure is lower. The high pressure outside the bottle pushes the egg in. Right?

Hey is there a liquid molecule that when mixed with a reactant it increases in volume but not in the sense of it transitioning into a gas phase? Like a liquid that due to a reaction it expands but maintains the liquid property of not being able to compress.
My wife and I are debating why the raisins did not perform like the popping corn kernels. Was it that the raisins were too dense or was it the surface characteristics of the raisins did not allow for the carbon dioxide bubbles to adhere. We may need to do some experimentation...
3:39 that's so cool! Uhhhhh just a question how much elephant toothpaste would I need to blast a body that is about 20,000 metric tons roughly the shape of Godzilla up to the stratosphere?
Now the recipe makes sense, no wonder it makes so much elephant toothpaste considering how much yeast you use 😂 When you make bread you only use a little bit.
Outstanding video. I expected no less from Mark. However, at 05:19 shouldn't "surficant" be "surfactant"? Is there a difference between "surficant" and "surfactant"?

Also from 2 years ago I know how to make something similar to devils toothpaste and I used triple the yeast which was so powerful in a small bottle it hit the ceiling and sprayed everywhere then tried it outside and went around 11 meters high
I just got a random question while thinking about things that are faster than the speed of light and if light can travel faster than its own defined speed, I was thinking that we can see faraway objects through telescope zoom lenses like those billions of light years away whose light have not even reached the earth yet so what if we shoot a light through the lens and it reaches the object faster than just pointing it at the same angle as the one with the lens. Is there a way to prove if this theory is right or wrong?

Correction, @ 9:08, H20 is two Hydrogen atoms and one Oxygen, they point it out as one hydrogen and two oxygen atoms, which is wrong.
Yes

Great Video!
Thank you gentlemen very entertaining, informative and that’s interesting.
Mark, you are such an inspiration. I've written down quotes I've heard you say to help keep me motivated. Thank you for all you do for youngsters and us "big kids" too.
Can u write here?
@@notacuber26 "That’s the thing with failures. They can sting like crazy but it’s really just a process to learn one more way not to do a thing. "
i love CrunchLabs!
THE BLUE ELEPHANT TOOTHPASTE LOOKS SO TASTY!
Love your experiments, keep at it Mark!
nice at-home science experiments! thanks mark rober!
5:14 ✨You're a wizard bobby✨ 😂
Awesome video! What if you seal the container of seltzer water containing raisins and corn kernels?
The overlay at 10:19 says potassium iodide and the recipe in the video description says sodium iodide. Which works better?
It should be potassium because it is more reactive
Thank you so much for these videos I bet we all love them❤❤❤
4:46 I did this experiment for a PSA for washing hands, and why it is important.
Colored flames!!! 🔥 , I did it once in chemistry and it was so cool!!!
Thanks for the great video!
I did the pepper thing with glitter and it looked really cool (the really fine glitter)
(Your h2o2 molecular model was wrong, hydrogen can’t bond to more than one thing, the oxygen is in the middle h-o-o-h) But otherwise thank you. Very fun and useful! :)
Could you also do a video on how best to clean up the messes created here? :D
I tried the experiment where you pour the water in the glass and watch it for 3 hours and it totally worked. The water actually stayed in there the entire time!!

@@Alex_14-c1w lol!
1:11 Nobody's going to want to eat that egg 😂
hey Mark I Iove your videos and I know I will never get to see you in person but i just gotta a say wow what a guy!!!!
Right?
continue the great work idol
How would you clean that up? Is it safe to put down the drain at home?
I just love learning new things
1:13 that is not that suprising especially for a adult
4:45 due to adhesion
7:35 Mark Rober's favourite
Can you do the electrical conductance experiment with 5 variables including potato
Hello Mark, this content is super interesting can you make more easy science experiments?
Hey is there a liquid molecule that when mixed with a reactant it increases in volume but not in the sense of it transitioning into a gas phase? Like a liquid that due to a reaction it expands but maintains the liquid property of not being able to compress.
Thanks for the recipe but i want to ask can i get a CrunchLabs Build Box but im in the UAE
can i use potassium manganate (VII) instead of hydrogen peroxide
1:02You don't need safety glasses, FOR AN EGG
They using fire bro they just wanna be safe
My wife and I are debating why the raisins did not perform like the popping corn kernels. Was it that the raisins were too dense or was it the surface characteristics of the raisins did not allow for the carbon dioxide bubbles to adhere. We may need to do some experimentation...
Devils toothpaste 12:06. Also I love you your vids❤❤😊
Y’all should do an elephant toothpaste inside a car!
I think they did
They did
@@Universalmemesss they havent
Keep making videos mark!!!!
I just looked it up Walmart, Amazon, and chewy all carry 30+% hydrogen paroxode.
i love all of your videos
Experiment #4 - Same volume. different surface area. I mean, we all know what will last the longest but still a good concept demonstration
3:39 that's so cool! Uhhhhh just a question how much elephant toothpaste would I need to blast a body that is about 20,000 metric tons roughly the shape of Godzilla up to the stratosphere?
Amazing!
Now Kevin the Backyard Scientist can do his elephant toothpaste gun🎉🎉🧪
Now the recipe makes sense, no wonder it makes so much elephant toothpaste considering how much yeast you use 😂 When you make bread you only use a little bit.
You guys should try cornstarch and water, used to love playing with oobleck as kids :)
Outstanding video. I expected no less from Mark. However, at 05:19 shouldn't "surficant" be "surfactant"? Is there a difference between "surficant" and "surfactant"?
It is surfactant... not surficant
Haha i was about to comment that. When the word popped up on the screen, I was thinking there's no 'I' in that word and i think we are missing a 'C'
You are correct, I think Mark made a mistake…which is totally ok I’d say.
Where can I find the milk jug?
What % is the hydrogen peroxide in the yeast version?
"...you should definitely be doing with a parent or some kind of adult"
I identify as "some kind of an adult"
I don't like chemistry. But I watched this video and I loved it 😀
You’re biggest fan
5:50 bro used raisins as soul sand and made a water elevator LMAOOOOO
Does gases react the same way as liquids to centrifugal force? Like swinging a bucket of water in a vertical circle...
The next thing you should do is teach a chicken how to play tic tac toe. I taught 3 of my chickens to play tic tac toe for my 6th grade science fair project, and it was fun.
By the way, I should mention that chickens are smart
By the way, I should mention that chickens are smart
A HUMBLE REQUEST
Can u build a robot which can play UNO Cards......
And if so, I'll be very happy to see that at the crunch lab.....
How can you make a water tornado?
Also from 2 years ago I know how to make something similar to devils toothpaste and I used triple the yeast which was so powerful in a small bottle it hit the ceiling and sprayed everywhere then tried it outside and went around 11 meters high
Try with a double chamberd expansion tube
Taks about changing 1 variable, proceeds with changing a container and the colouring
Making slime is a great way to BOND with your children 😂
I just got a random question while thinking about things that are faster than the speed of light and if light can travel faster than its own defined speed, I was thinking that we can see faraway objects through telescope zoom lenses like those billions of light years away whose light have not even reached the earth yet so what if we shoot a light through the lens and it reaches the object faster than just pointing it at the same angle as the one with the lens. Is there a way to prove if this theory is right or wrong?
How to get the blue of your hands ... cheese grater. Your fingers might feel a bit sore for the next three to four months.

use the HEat and power of the expansion , to power a little car or a generator .
You two work well together, you guys are awesome. Keep the science / engineering knowledge coming....
Um 9:06 I think it's an O and 2 H's, not the other way around...
Fun experiments though, love it!
Is the experiment #1 "milkjar" glass or plastic?
You should do m&m's in water. It's an amazing example of diffusion.
One of my favorite at home experiments is melting Styrofoam with acetone.
Now all we need is the devils toothpaste recipe.
