- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1991 Buick Riviera. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

These are such gorgeous cars.
is it just me or does anyone else love the big American cars of the late 80's early 90's?
This car is NOT big.
Just got mine today and she runs like a dream! Pretty dope cluster and I have an aftermarket stereo head with same green color.. its awesome....
Just registered my 91 Riviera. Bought from a 93 year old that bought it brand new. It was always stored in the garage. It's a beauty, red with half leather vinyl top. This car has no dents and no rust with perfect paint. The driver seat had a tear. I put seat covers on. This car has 131,600 miles and runs great. The head liner is dropping and needs to be glued back up. This car is a beauty with a perfect exterior. Soon it will be almost as sweet on the inside.
Allen Christo had the same with red. Loved it
Awesome video Kyle! I love these Riverias. So classy.
I feel like we've gotten a lot of vids from u lately Kyle. Great videos. Very informative.
Keep up coming! Thanks, MIKE
OMG! I love these type of Rivieras man! These are the best bodystyles i ever like man :)
oh man i love these cars, finally u got a vid of it :D
Looking at buying one of these right now - good content!
There is such a strong character and unique styling built into these vehicles, that it nearly takes my breath away. The lovely thing is, that's probably sells very cheap too, due to the cosmetic blemishes, even though it isn't rusted at all. I'd just remove that ragtop, and have the whole car painted.
I dont get why people dislike your videos.....your videos are AWESOME!!!!!
What an interesting dashboard. First time I've heard of this car today (not being American) but I saw one today here in Europe and found it fascinating.
Hoping to buy one of these cars tomorrow, fingers crossed its still available. It's my dream ride, that or a Cadillac Deville circa 90'. Thanks for the tour!
Got the car, it's in great condition! Absolutely beautiful piece of machinery, heavy yet it maneuvers like it weighs nothing at all. The engine purrs like nothing I've heard before, couldn't be happier with my purchase.
the rear end and the white wall tires are my favourite parts. great vid too Kyle!
This is arguably the best car Buick ever built. My mom bought a 1990 Brand New. It has over 300,000 on the 3.8 V6. Original Engine and Transmission. The only thing she's ever replaced is the Alternator. She still drives it almost everyday, and it still runs pretty good. Looks exactly like this one, only red leather instead of blue. These cars actually costed more than Jaguars when they first came, because my mom was either going to buy this or a Jag. She made the right choice with this.
the engine on the 1986-1993 Buick Riviera
Engine
1986-1990: 3.8L 165 hp (123 kW) V6
1991-93: 3.8L 170 hp (130 kW) V6
Nice new feature on the '91 Riviera, hanging rear view mirror!
Thank you for sharing Kyle. It is appreciated. That car can be fixed easy. The headliner, power antenna , the exterior paint and vinyl top will solve cosmetic issues. That seat can be redone too. The you have to check the engine and mechanics first. Thanks for the video.
i had one of these. LOVED the car :D
Elegant. This was GM knew how to make cars that had class
I love this car man. I would love to have one someday haha
I really like the styling and gauges on this car.
I own this exact same car but in red (including interior) and in better condition. Also I don't have a vinyl roof and my radio is different. Also your radio antenna on the all bent and damaged. Mine is still perfect and even goes inside the car when the radio's not running.
These were (and still are) such cool cars. To bad this one was not cared for better.
nanny drove that thing hard.
I love the dash. Looks awesome. You need to come to about the center of WV. I see these quite often.
the 1986-1993 Buick Riviera was assembled in
Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly, Michigan, United States
These are beautiful.
That roof has a marbalized look to it now, lol. I don't see those cars much anymore either. Those are some SWEET gauges.
I absolutely love the touch on the dashboard style with all the luxurious purpose of the vehicle to its era .... not to mention the dings, dangs and dongs those adorable buzzers do.
God, you've gotta love AMERICA!
anyone know approx. how much these went for when they were new?
Very nice!
what the hell is the back square towards the top of the key on 90's buick keys?
What is the sedan version of this called. You know, like the Monte Carlo was a 2-door version of the Lumina?
I've never understood why some car manufacturers will make a seat power adjustable in ever direction but a really important one - recline. Never made much sense. Oh, this Riviera has power recline; for the passenger? Great review as always Kyle...
very nice vehicle
Kyle, I wish you had done a review of that late 80's Bonneville in the background.
is that yellow beauty in the back an evo?
Kyle can u review a 1987 buick grand national gnx and an 03 max..thanx
I'm pretty sure that the Riviera (and the Reatta) got an interior redesign in 1990, which added the driver's airbag but did away with the touch-screen system.
was that a impala/caprice in the background at 2:00
that guage cluster looks cool
@lx9l36 The gauges are digital but made to look analog.
on kyles videos i hit like automatically, i dont feel as tho ive madea mistake yet
this buick is powered by the L27 3800 V6, the Same engine that Dave of Davidsfarm ran over with his Bulldozer and IT RAN, so this engine is Practically INDESTRUCTIBLE.
id love if you could do a video on a 90-92 toronado which as you know the same car as the riv
i'm guessing those gauges don't work too well in the winter.
aww this one wasnt fitted with the buick digital controls, pleeease find one with this option for us.
Ya think they have enough tacks holding up the headliner?
Who'd they repo this from? Oh well, not too bad to fix up.
got a 1989 riviera, been sitting for about 1 and a half year.... its been trashed though.. tomarrow gona put altinator backon and new battery and try to start it, if it runs ill take moter out and put in a diffrent body, so atleast part of it will be on the road
They should’ve kept the column shifter and bench seating on these.
nice car.
I just wish they came supercharged....I have 1992 buick riviera. I think the best tires to have for this car are vogue tires.....it brings the whole look of the car out.
Anyone know how to set the time on the clock? I recently developed a problem with the interior lights. The problem is, they will not turn off. Anyone know how to fix that? I had to pull the fuse for that function. Now I have to use the key to unlock the doors instead of just pushing the button on the key chain. It's not the biggest problem but, I'd like every thing to work the way it was designed. This is my baby. I only drive it in perfect weather on the week ends. I bought the car from the original owner with 131,600 miles. Two years later I'm all the way up to 134,300. Pretty soon I'll catch up with that mileage with my daily driven 1995 Buick Century.
put the radio on clock press set ..don,t hold down use the scan button for hr and search button min
you should find the 94-98 rivirera, in my opinion the best looking rivireras since the boat tails.
@Jakeman2164 i'd say so he does a great job presenting in full honor no matter the condition:)
those gauges are so hi-tech !
@godfan13 I'd look for the 93-97 generation of Riviera. Based on the Park Avenue, it can come with the Supercharged 3.8 and dual airbags. It looks real cool and rides very nice. Kyle should check one out for you!
good style
This video was taken 8 years ago and the car then was in rougher shape than my '93 Regal Limited coupe is today. Sheesh.
This car is gangsta!!
Davidsfarm LIVES!
the transmission of the 1986-1993 Buick Riviera
Transmission
4-speed THM440-T4 automatic
tell me kyle why did you review this old car? I'm not mad just wondering because I'm used to you reviewing new cars.
rather interesting headliner
typicle gm issue them horn buttons are alwayse the first to go..
just bought one for 500 bucks with only 86k miles gonna make it my daily commute
yea u can hit a button and it goes from all digital to a digital lookin anilog.. it cool az hell..
Did this model have touchscreens?
YASIR SAHEED Nope they tried it out for a couple years and got rid of it
Did anyone else notice that the start-up chime on this Riviera is similar to the one GM uses today?
Funny how the digital tach in this car is more responsive than the LCD tach in that Explorer, and this car is 20 years older.
Keyless entry in 1991?? Thats high tech!
nice i just picked one up for 500 bucks with only 86k miles
@saabkyle04 i'd bet you'd do backflip's if you found a 70's "Bob-tail" Riviera?
can u do the v8 4runner at ur parents lot plz and thanks!
I know this gen Rivera had many detractors, but I don't care. This car looks great, kinda cute.
i always the look of rivera's
@bored1980 Yea I love these Rivieras, these are my favorites :)
I actually prefer this to the 89 with the computer screen in the dash. That stuff is nice but if I wanted complicated computer gizmos I'd go to the local ford dealer
i`ve just learned that these obviously had the "driver centric dash" way before audi did that.
@thecarexpert21 "says the dealer"
soo close to doing a vid on the 85-90 electra park avenue....so close..lol
It's sad how some people don't give a crap about their older car and just let it rot to shit =( what a beauty if it was in better condition. if i had the money, I'd buy it and restore it
That sound system isn't the greatest, especially with such a nice car, you'd think they'd put a nicer stereo in it (:
i love these if only it had an fuel economy read out
ash trays???
What do you expect from 1991? besides its in "fair" condition not nasty condition. =(@Taikafirr
@saabkyle04 bet it gets up and goes quick too
Jesus look at that prehistoric car alarm remote
@TheBigc837 they accidentally clicked the wrong button. :p
my life long dream is to get a comment aweswered by you! :)
@trollsRstupididiots The insurance company's fire investigator said that the fire started in the 1990 Ford LTD Crown Victoria that Mom inherited from my grandfather. It had been in the garage for at least four hours with the engine off.
pretty rough car, i would rock one.
Looks like this
very decent on gas too!
Coolest. Gauges. Ever.
Ah, the good old days when interior colors were still blue and burgundy...
@digitalrailroader
Too bad the rest of the car isnt?
I hear the transmission is shit, and the suspension and bodywork too.
High maintenance cars.
looks so similar to a Cadillac Seville
