I'm so glad yall are enjoying the tutorial for the Issa Mesh Cardigan :-) Thanks for letting me know about the broken like for the FREE version of the pattern. It's fixed now! Please find the free pattern here: tlycblog.com/issa-mesh-cardigan-a-free-crochet-lace-sweater-tutorial-pattern/
I’m so glad you’re showing how this evolves into a sweater because sometimes the way things are written, it is hard to know exactly what you’re building. I wouldn’t say I am 100% clear after watching, but I’m certainly clearer than I’d be if I hadn’t watched.
What I love about your wearable tutorials is that, with some small adjustments, I can not only make something for my daughter to wear, but a matching one just for her baby doll
After finishing this cardigan, and your grandpa vest, you’re now my go-to source for patterns for garments. Your sizing really is customizable, so I can make matching cardigans and vests for me and my boyfriend with ease! Your instructions are also so clear; the grandpa vest doesn’t have a video guide, yet I was able to follow along and customize. Thank you so much for all that you do, and keep those lessons and patterns coming! 🤗
That blue yarn is gorgeousssss omgawd. And, chaining AFTER the sleeve to not have to attach the sleeves to the body? GENIUS! I'm currently on sleeve island on my second sweater ever, and I can't wait to finish! I will definitely be coming back to this video for my next project!
Oh my goodness! I’m so glad I can save and compartmentalise these videos. I’m very slow crocheting these days, painful hands, but I loooove watching what you do and you solve so many problems just by watching. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰
My favorite crochet creator made my favored type of project using my favorite yarn!?!? Sign me up. I’m starting this asap! I don’t think I’ve added a pattern or yarn to my cart faster!
I really like your explanation/demonstration of doing the ribbing. I have an unfinished project that is unfinished because I couldn’t get the hang of the ribbing. Now I think I’ve got it!
I'm going to steal the construction of this cardigan for my current wip, bc i already made 2 sleeves with extended sc. Wasn't sure about how to add the body, so this video is exactly what I needed. Also, love your nails and how that last teal hook matches them perfectly 🩵
I was finding transitioning from the sleeve to the body a little tricky and I doubted myself and frogged that whole section several times so I'm so happy you posted this to reassure me that I did in fact get it right the first time 😂👌🏻✨oops!
Omg I am so excited for this! I am constantly hot and cold, hot and cold (perimenopause says hi!), and these open cardigans are the best! Can't wait to get stuck in 🧡 thank you lovely!
Saw your video paused on a friend's computer (she looooves your videoes) and asked her to send me the link JUST so I could tell you how cute your nails are!! Love the blue! K bye have a great day
Thank you so much for this video. I got to the sleeve and did the body chain and dc-ch-skip back to the sleeve. But I just couldn’t visualize how to join the body rows to the sleeve. Now that I see where I’m going, it makes perfect sense.😅 you are a great teacher. Thank you again!
Toni, thank you 😂for this tutorial. Your voice is soothing, so I can listen to your instructions. I will make this after I purchase the kit from Lion Brand 😊
Hey… I’m new to Tunisian and am loving your video tutorials!! I’ve heard you say that there are 400 different Tunisian stitches and that you may have another book in the works. May I please say that I’m really hoping your new book is a 400+ Tunisian Stitch Dictionary!! If anyone can pull that off I’m believing you can do it and I would be first in line to make that purchase.
Hey Toni, I love the tutorial. However, when I hit the link for the free version located on your blog, I got an error message page, and I could not find it when I tried to search for it. I even went to the CA email with the link for the free version and it didn't work either. I was wondering if this is an error or will I have to purchase the pattern.
@tlyarncrafts, thank you so much. While waiting, I started the Kelli Bias Scarf. As soon as I finish it, I'll double back to the cardigan. Again, thanks for all your wonderful work ❤️
I love the color, and the yarn looks so rich. I have made a few tops but still don't feel like more than a beginner. Can you recommend a pattern of yours that would be the best sweater for a beginner? Thank you, and God bless.
I received an email in regard to the anniversary of happy Place yarn. I would like to tell you how much I enjoy this yarn. I do have a concern though. There are several colors out of stock and I have been waiting for weeks maybe over a month now for them to be restocked. I am set up to receive an email when this happens and have been waiting patiently. But I think maybe my patience is running thin and that is why I am contacting you. I am working on a large project and am hoping to have these other colors soon and have been concerned Maybe they are not going to restock. Do you have any insight into this? Thank you very much, a loyal subscriber and lover of happy place yarn.
The link for the free pattern on the blog is taking me a 404 error. The free pattern link on Crochet Academy takes me to the paid pattern. Is anyone else having this problem?
Hi, I know nothing about crochet but my wife watches your channel. A few months ago she was watching a video that reviewed some products and you were talking about a high quality skein winder (I think). I am trying to get her a birthday gift and it would be so helpful if you or another viewer could help me find the name of that particular product! Thank you so much!
This is my first visit to your site. Love the cardigan. I’m more of a knitter than a crocheter, but I may well give this a go! You’re an excellent teacher here and I love the repetition of each step because it helped me to see exactly what to do; fantastic! I’m confused about the neckline after you finish the front buttonhole areas on both sides. The picture seems to suggest you have “ribbing around the neck.” However, I think I missed how you continue the work from the button band around to the neck to the other button band…or is that added after you finish both sides of the button bands? (I’ll check the pattern, but as a beginner, that was a little unclear to me.) I’ll look forward to seeing future projects on your site. Thank you. ❤
Hmm, I'm not 100% sure which part you have a question about, but here's the process breakdown for the button band - after making both panels, you'll seam them together along the back. then make a round of single crochet going from the bottom corner around the entire neck opening (up one side, across the back neck, down the other wide, and across the entire bottom), then put ribbing along the bottom, and finally ribbing along the entire front opening (from the bottom corner of one side, up the front opening, across the back neck, and down the other side). This is also the step where you put in the button holes. For the front ribbing, you continue the 2-row ribbing all the way around the front working into the single crochets made on the last step. Does that answer your question? It make make more sense once you get into the project :-)
Trying to work through the yarn substitution classes from “Crochet Academy”. This is what I’ve come up with: I have a DK superwash Morino which is 218 yds long. If I use the same crochet hook size you are using will I end up with a garment approximately the same sizes as you “colour theory” project? And will I require the same total length of yarn as the Colour Works yarn requires? (ps…sorry if this is common knowledge, but am asking to check my assumptions as this is my first try at substitution🤔🤪)Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!!🫶🏻
You’ll need to make a gauge swatch first to determine what hook size you should use, otherwise the final dimensions of your project could be way off. As for the yardage, you’ll probably need an extra skein or two since your yarn has less yardage than color theory does. Hope that helps!
Love the nail polish. Love the colour of the yarn. If possible pleaseeeee can you crochet slower. Also, I'm from UK also if pos can you put the UK abbreviations up on the screen. As American abbreviations are different to ours.
