This movie has a surprisingly happy ending. Yeah he didn’t get to stay with his wife, but he saved humanity and when he comes to civilization he’ll probably be hailed as a hero. Also his wife probably left lots of notes for him to read when he got back, if she knew he would
If they had a time machine 400 years before that, then they very well might be able to send him back home too. At least thats what I'd like to think because it makes the ending even happier.
If they already have a time machine , they could easily send him back home no ?
What if they didnt want to sent ethan back? There's a possibilty that sending ethan back will change th outcome of the current "ideal" future
meh
He meets his great great grand sons and daughters, where they own Chronicorp.
I would love to see him enter that world and everyone knows what a hero he is
I think we should focus on how phytoplankton and sea plant life produce alot of carbondioxide and oxygen for the world, unless the ocean is completely decimated this story dosent make sense. Also the doctor in the beginning is called billy Mitchel, like the Billy Mitchel that cheated the donkey Kong speed runs
The people in that world didn't look in the time machine room right near them for 400 years? Time travel movies can be really weird.
@@FortKnox5529 Obviously if you decimated the world enough to kill all plants, the ocean would be fucked too.
@@DanteYewToob 50-80% of the oxygen production on Earth comes from the ocean. The majority of this production is from oceanic plankton
so yea the ocean would have to be messed up
Time travel movies never works logically unless you turn off your brain. In this instance the paradox would be the time machine itself. If Ethan had destroyed the time machine that would’ve otherwise sent him back to the present, then he wouldn’t of been able to go to return back anyway as he destroyed in the future but that also means he wouldn’t have been able to save humanity either as the machine was destroyed by his past future self. Ugh even writing this hurts my brain. Just shut off your brain.

After that he just has to get accustomed to whatever eco friendly routines they've developed.

Edit: What I meant was, “It’s refreshing to see a time travel movie end with a broken loop and, more importantly, end with positivity and hope for the future of man kind and earth. Yeah, I remember watching this one horror movie that's a time loop, I really liked that movie but forgot the name 😔. Fun fact - they didn't make a single set for this movie, they just used the existing conditions of Australia and abandoned buildings from around the landscape for filming. Usually as someone who hates happy endings in movies from it being so cliche, this made me cry and be so happy Ethan got a good ending. The fact he was used all this time and that the father really didn't leave by choice but by murder, the way they planned it all out, and how instead of making the future worse being lead by such a horrid leader and accepting fate; he instead saved and made the world an even better place. Respect to Jude though for not following through, because if he did, that would of meant everything gone worse...
I still don't get it when people talk about cliche. Every one thing in the world is cliche at the point and it's only gonna be worse. Additionally you can't seek out movies you might like and then be upset they are cliche. It's like going to the cereal aisle and not liking that you find cereal. Cliche is not a bad thing, yet people make it so. And I can tell you cliche is not bad because I spend a lot of time looking for specific movies, game and literature that completely deviate from the norm, generally stuff that hasn't been done yet. And a shitton of it is boring and even bad. Which shows me that being unique is not always a good thing, and by transitive property, being cliche is not always a bad thing.

Emmeren algae isnt really a single food source. There is seaweed and other macro algae as well as micro algae. And also with algae, you can feed fish such as sardines, herring and mackerel. Then with those fish you can feed predatory fish like tuna or land animals like pigs and use them for fertiliser for any edible plant's that you have seeds for, which can be found in places like Svalbard.

Damn, the Lorax 2 hits different
These videos are perfect for us “right here, right now” people. And looking to save a buck lol. I’ve went and watched a few of the movies and I’ve found that even though the end is spoiled, some of the movies were still good even knowing the outcome.
Yeah, he skips over the emotional investment and complexity/ character development though, which is what makes a good film. He reviewed "district 9" but bc it's a recap, it's just saying the events chronologically, the message is in the way the movie envokes empathy through emotional insight and makes you care about the aliens, bc it's about racism and brutality
@@wessyde9476 most of these movies are pretty trash, and fairly blatant in their messaging. its just fear mongering at the end of the day. people dont really give a shit about the planet, just the survivability of their neighborhood. all these so called "activists" who harp on about climate change are the same people who harped on about global warming. its all the same argument but less defined parameters making it harder to debunk, simply due to its utterly vague nature. you cant deny climate changes, because of course climate changes, if climate stagnated, then life stagnates and dies. Of course the idiots who make movies like this would have you believe that if the climate changes suddenly the world becomes a vast lifeless wasteland, because "Humans evil". when the climate has changed and has been in flux for hundreds of millions of years. the climate has changed, does change, and will continue to change long after humans have gone extinct. we have minimal effect on the climate and to think otherwise is sheer fuckin hubris and narcissism.
to recap : the "emotional investment" is purely cheap emotional manipulation to get you to believe the way the screen writers want you to believe. like, if they want you to feel sad, they show you a hurt child or a wounded puppy. its merely a visual equivalent of the "think of the children" argument. there is no complexity or character development. its all window dressing to reach their conclusion.
Thank you becuase my wife looks at me like I’m a psycho for not spending 2 hours
I tend to stop before the ended if I am really enjoying the recap to go find the actual movie online.

"Earth In 2067, You Need To Pay For Oxygen Or Die !!!" Mr O'hare would be proud.
Even if “all plant life suddenly died on Earth” there would still be enough oxygen on Earth to last for hundreds of years. The pressing concern in this scenario would be the total collapse of all ecosystems and food, not oxygen, lmao.
You said it before I could. Most animal life would die of hunger before anything suffocated
Bro 78% of earth's oxygen is from plankton in the ocean, boo fucking hoo 32% disappears? Like and??? Lmao
@@ripoutyourintestines5099 yeah, and we can just replant. It really isn't as big of a deal as people say it is
Also making oxygen is easy. Electricity +water= Hydrogen + Oxygen
I wouldn't buy it. I would stay near the Ocean. Waves can make electricity. Ocean gives fish. Electricity gives plants and oxygen. I do aquaculture for survival.
@@Starteller yea and salt water/sea water doesn't produce oxygen alone, it makes Carbon Monoxide as a byproduct and 30+ even more toxic chemicals, that's why submarines filter sea water before using it to make oxygen.

😂😂😂
The plants are the cure.
@Carlos so basically coronavirus
@Carlos when the first people got sick they could have placed more plants or something to stop more people from getting it
Correct me if I am wrong but I though at the start of the film, it said that the last living plant is gone, meaning every natural source that produce oxygen is gone, and the oxygen they make is synthetic (the one that the company make at the last city on earth)
though, to be honest they did not state that all natural source that produce oxygen is gone, they only said plant is gone, if another being that can produce oxygen (phytoplankton, algae, etc) still exist, their problem is not oxygen more like running out of food
You rlky think we can just plant that many trees 😐 at that point half of the earth would be gone 😐😐😐
