This song is so uplifting. Listening to this song in 2022. This song has a little bit of Rock, a lot of gosple feeling with the background quire, and a little bit of Country Bluegras with the acoustic guitar and mandalins at the end of the song. Can't say enough about this song.
I love that little scale he runs to end the solo....it's just so fits without being too flashy..with his chops he could have did a number of crazy runs but he really played it in the pocket ...nice job .
Hi again, this song could be a great Gosple song if its ever released on the Gosple charts of radio and records. This song should've been Poisons signature song, and should've made it on all the classic rock stations after 1993, and needs to be played a lot more offen.

I remember vividly seeing this vid on it's MTV premier in Jan or Feb, '93 at the height of shitty grunge. This album didn't sell all that well compared to their three previous ones, but this is one of my all time fave songs by Poison and by ANYONE!! Just a great song w/beautiful lyrics and a great message.
I'm with you. This album was very good but unfortunately came out at the wrong time, Flesh & Blood was undoubtedly their last album to get a lot of mainstream praise only because 1990 was a little over a year before the grunge moment would take a chokehold on the nation. 1993 was too late for Posion.
Amazing song; Love how a band can transform from glam metal to essentially a southern rock band from album to album and do both well! And I do believe that if everyone walking had a gospel choir (especially one as good as this one), this world would be a much happier place
probably more great selling music. But i can't say their previous efforts are bad because it's what they are, as a band, born from. They had the party rock music and slid into the bluesy style rock which gave the band a much different flavor to their music. I love this album.
Not to take away from Ritchie, but he was never No CC Deville! Not even close, though he brought soul, his solo's lack CC's (FUN) deliverance. Just my opinion.
I believe this song is more powerful today than it was back then. It carries a timeless message. It reaches down inside and unfurls truth... we as a society, as a SPECIES need these words today. "Everybody...come on..." Who would have ever thought back then a hair band and a church choir could have such a strong message?
This song was not written as social commentary but for something more personal to the band. Stand was written as a show of support for Bobby as he went through drug rehab. Ritchie wrote this for BD as a way of saying "Thanks, and we are behind you."
This song is amazing, the gospel singers take this song to another dimension and it’s meaning probably means more today than it ever did. Stand for what you believe.
Poison was popular with their country gospel blues hard rock music in the late 1980’s and 1990’s before bands like Creed, Live and Collective Soul and Pearl Jam took over.
Will put this album in my top 3 Poison albums. Funny thing is? My top 3 have different guitar players on them. "Power to the People" with C.C.. "Native Tongue" with Kotzen and "Crack a Smile" with Blues Saraceno. All 3 kickass records.
I'm 56 and this is still my favorite song ever! It means more now than when it was written. Beautiful message in our world today!

When I 1st heard this song it was so obvious to find this was written by RIchie.
He actually wrote the whole album
@@elvisjsax That's not true
@@jasonmarchant4525 it actually is. He wrote everything but 2 songs, which he co-wrote.
@@elvisjsax I heard a radio interview with him once where they asked him about that album and he said he wrote 60 to 70 percent of the album so that's what I'm basing that on. Maybe he was being modest. i swear there was one song he said he had nothing to do with and was written before he joined, but I can't remember which one. I'm guessing body talk since it sounds the most like a Pre Native Tongue song out of all of them
@@jasonmarchant4525 I heard this interview you mentioned as well, but there's another one, where the interviewer is a friend of his and he speaks about all sorts of stuff pretty honestly (including the drummer's girl thing) and he claims what I mentioned previously.
This song is so uplifting. Listening to this song in 2022. This song has a little bit of Rock, a lot of gosple feeling with the background quire, and a little bit of Country Bluegras with the acoustic guitar and mandalins at the end of the song. Can't say enough about this song.
best they ever did. amen...............
Native Tongue was underrated because of the changes happening in music at the time it come
I love that little scale he runs to end the solo....it's just so fits without being too flashy..with his chops he could have did a number of crazy runs but he really played it in the pocket ...nice job .
Hi again, this song could be a great Gosple song if its ever released on the Gosple charts of radio and records. This song should've been Poisons signature song, and should've made it on all the classic rock stations after 1993, and needs to be played a lot more offen.

Everyone was very cool here. Brilliantly inspired song.
And I do believe that if everyone walking had a gospel choir (especially one as good as this one), this world would be a much happier place
love this song & with the chorus is amazing
BUEN DISCO LE DIO UN GIRO DE 180ª RICHI A POISON ME ENCANTA. Y HASTA AHORA LO SIGO TENIENDO ESTE DISCO 2014.
Epic song! Thanks Ritchie K!
Great solo, great song!!!
What would've happened if they had continued down this road, and stayed away from the party rock style of lyrics they had before Richie joined ?
they would have been dropped from their label
probably more great selling music. But i can't say their previous efforts are bad because it's what they are, as a band, born from. They had the party rock music and slid into the bluesy style rock which gave the band a much different flavor to their music. I love this album.
Most underrated album that they have.
The best Poison album to-date because of @RichieKotzen
Flesh and Blood is miles better.
RK is now one of the guitar gods around and still makes music. His voice is insanely amazing!
He was a guitar god way before Poison bro!
Raw, edgy, and blues guitar backed by a choir, I love how the band and choir intercedes with one another, keep rocking.
You know...You got to STAND...STAND...STAND...for what you BELIEVE !!
Not to take away from Ritchie, but he was never No CC Deville! Not even close, though he brought soul, his solo's lack CC's (FUN) deliverance. Just my opinion.
I really love Kotzen as guitarist but CC Deville is definitly Poison's one and only guitarist
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 love reading morons comments
I agree!! CC is much more melodic and knows how to structure a solo far better than Ritchie
Roxanne Moser No need to bully people. If you don’t agree with someone there’s no need to call them names.
That's fine. It's a preference.
I believe this song is more powerful today than it was back then. It carries a timeless message. It reaches down inside and unfurls truth... we as a society, as a SPECIES need these words today.
"Everybody...come on..."
Who would have ever thought back then a hair band and a church choir could have such a strong message?
STAND FOR PEACE STAND FOR JUSTICE STAND FOR FREEDOM STAND FOR EVERYONE ON THIS EARTH GOD BLESS THIS WORLD🙏😔🥲😇🌈
“It’s 1993. Turn out the lights and be grungy”

I really do
Right? Chains, Nirvana, and Soundgarden were owning the airwaves.
@@garrison0532082 true but look at Sound Garden now...
@@jaynecole2959yea so what look at poison now
@@christinahoward1036 what's that even mean?
Bret micheals is pretty and also the best poison song ever
A gem of a song. As a band with a cause, playing Nature Warrior Rock, we regularly play this live.
We do love CC, but this is wonderful, too.
RK
Is a much better guitar player than CC .
My opinion best record they ever did!
Rock on Ritchie!!
@JW Stuff I agree with the RK being far better. The rest? Man you're nuts. Open the horizon a tad, might be surprised.
This song was not written as social commentary but for something more personal to the band. Stand was written as a show of support for Bobby as he went through drug rehab. Ritchie wrote this for BD as a way of saying "Thanks, and we are behind you."
How do you know?
Rikki Rockett. That's how I know
So tell us how YOU know this? Because I cannot seem to find that version of the story ANYWHERE on the internet ? ? ? ? ?
Richie wrote the song before he joined Poison; in fact he has stated it helped him get the Poison gig.
@@williamgetz411 this is true. Thought his original version has different lyrics
Ya es tiempo que Suban los vídeos de esta genial banda en HD 👌..
I love this song, great chorus and solos
Thanks for this one! Good reminder today!!
Hello, how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here.
Amen to that it is one of the most heartfelt and truthful songs ever written
Oi poison q música linda stand 🇧🇷🎋❤
This song is amazing, the gospel singers take this song to another dimension and it’s meaning probably means more today than it ever did. Stand for what you believe.
Poison was popular with their country gospel blues hard rock music in the late 1980’s and 1990’s before bands like Creed, Live and Collective Soul and Pearl Jam took over.
tremenda pieza del rock. poison standdddddd
Will put this album in my top 3 Poison albums. Funny thing is? My top 3 have different guitar players on them. "Power to the People" with C.C.. "Native Tongue" with Kotzen and "Crack a Smile" with Blues Saraceno. All 3 kickass records.
