Wow, heart surgery is easier. Well done. Can’t believe you did not do a complete walk-around of the truck
I was thinking the same thing! Dang absolute ton of work involved
Pretty straight forward I thought. You just need a hoist lol
Ok may have spoke too soon
Nicely done. Its good to see work done with honest fitment, and not hammered and bulldogged into place.
brooo this guy is wonderfull, if ill will lift my truck I'll go with him.
This would be so cool on the redesigned Rigeline
Just saw a 2021 Red Ridgeline with this lift on UA-cam this week.
Thank you team... i wish thats mine🫣
Great video, Traxda kits are well design, wish have seen this before installing 2 inch kit in mine. I have a 2019 RTL-E
2 WD, I installed the 2 inch kit in my garage by myself with a floor jack no issues, is been all most a year and 8k miles later not a single problem,
For a 3 inch kit looks more labor intensive but i believe it can be done at home if you are mechanically inclined and safety oriented. Excellent job traxda
Did you have trouble getting the control arm back under the spindle after installing strut spacers? I didn't remove subframe brackets or motor mounts since mine is only a 2". I'm not able to get my control arm back in- you think that's why? Any advice?
All that work and you didn’t show it off, wtf????
This is what the Ridgeline needs. A bit more ground clearance, and some great tires!! I think this would alleviate most of the off-road that people have about the Ridgeline!
This mechanic is aPRO.. VERY IMPRESSIVE
These guys really work hard you really have know what you doing 👍
wow, so much work. Great job
What brand and size tires are you using?
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! TOTALLY AWSOME UPGRADE!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! SOMETHING TO CONSIDER.
All the activities needed for this upgrade. Requires the perfect .....music mix. 👌 I wonder what is it he’s listening to. 🤔🤝👍
This guy's an expert 👍💥
I like the 2 inch F/R to be installed on mine the correct heights for this kits
Gr8 job what is the cost OTD?
I went from, yeah that looks awesome I want this on my redesigned ridgeline..... To no fu**ing way in getting into this. Real quick
What size tires are on the truck in this video?
he's doing the back and I'm thinking... yeah that doesn't look too bad. looks like a fun project. Then he moves to the front and i'm like nope nope nope. lol
Lol exactly my thoughts were.
Very nice work! What size tires are on the truck after the 3.5 inch lift?
It says it right on the end of the video.
It never mentioned tire size only fender height.
Crickets
Does this kit also fit the new Honda Passport? It really needs it...
What did you do about the re-calibration after the 3.5" lift. After my install multiple warning lights came on. Is the recalibration straight forward or is there a special adaption, like change of aiming spots height?
Who did the work and where are they located?
We’ve been installing these on our trucks and passports at the dealership and they sell quick . I’m fitting a ridge line with one now
Have you gotten any issues with comebacks related to the radar or camera?
Chris, have you heard of any issues?
It looks nice, but I sense problems down the road. I wish Honda make the ridgeline like this. I'll trade in my 2017.
Looks nice but I would never do it to my Ridgeline. I would buy something designed for hard off-road driving.
I appreciate the determination.
Same here. If you need a rock hopping ditch crawler then best to look elsewhere. This will give you an improvement on ground clearance but it will be a negative in other areas. You can't out guess the engineers. Honda spent a lot of money designing this.
@@jpeterman57 how do you feel about a 1.5" leveling kit?
Does anyone know who does this Traxda upgrade in South Florida?
Will this void the Power Train Warranty (5 yr/60k miles) of the Ridgeline? What about Honda Sensing - will it needs some re-calibration, etc?..
It will void your warranty Honda is not ok with mods like some other car manufacturers… I lifted my 2021 and it immediately caused problems with my Honda Sensing would no longer stay in lane when using lane keep assist. I would also get random breaking warnings. When this happens Honda will have to go in and re-calibrate all the radar’s and sensors once they see your car has been lifted they will not want to do any of this for you as warranty work. I would not recommend this on any of the ridgelines that have Honda sensing or if your vehicle is still under warranty. If it’s older and you don’t mind spending money to keep repairing suspension parts when they break then go for it. It looks bad ass but not worth the problems it causes.
Love the look, Do you feel the 2 inch lift is as good as this new upgrade? and if so, What part # would I order and how long will it take to install for a pro?
Nice work!
How does that lift impact angles? Approach, departure, breakover
What size tires want in after lift installation?
I actually thought of having this done until I saw the incredible amount of work that it requires. This would be a huge waste of mone and could screw up the synergy of the vehicle
Pretty normal procedure for a unibody vehicle, that's the problem, people think you slap spacers on something and BAM "LiFt"
Total time. 14 days 😂 that’s crazy ! But wow good job
I need this.
This seem like the most labor intensive lift option by far. I couldn't have imagined the amount of work required. So many chances to fuck up your ride and good luck diagnosing the issue. I'll pass. Shout out to the technician.
Yeah, too many variables for me to worry about. Kudos to the technician though! Too bad Honda does not build them like this to begin with!
Next thing to do is install aftermarket skid plates .
So what size tires were installed afterwards ?
Those skid plates...
Look like a turkey pan.
@@tgrzadziel1975 Lmao
No torque wrenches were harmed in this video.
🤣 I was thinking the same thing. Everything was measured in ugga duggas.
And job around $800 or more?
I need a 2in lift kit for my 2016 honda crv
Now that you mention it, I do too. That'd be just about perfect for the snow we get round these parts.
I truly like to know when I can get my truck in to have the same lift kit installed and who do I contact
They’ll get it done about 25k before the new CV joints.
@@NoName-tz5ji do you feel that a 1.5" leveling kit will harm the CV joints, or is that only for a 3" all around?
where is the shop that did this? I'd like to have a shop do mine that has done a few of these before.
Let us know how long your CV joints hold up after this lift.
ikr...not long lol
This kit comes with subframe drop so no extra strain on your CV joints
@Jim, does 1.5" leveling kit for the front also harm the CV joints?
Awesome!
I heard this kit is loud/screeching when you drive. Would love the have this on my passport
Awesome video, what would this job cost with parts?
How were you able to get such a high lift without beefing up the CV Joints?
Serious enquiry. I am aware of the price of the kit but do you guys install it? I know my way around tools but this seems to be too much for a weekend project for me
They don't do installs.
I previously commented on this post when I had a 2in lift professionally done on my 2021 ridgeline RTL with no issues, or so I thought. Well…here’s the update. Within weeks of the install the drivers side cv boot busted and leaked out all the axel grease and the lower ball joint boot busted. I liked the way it looked but it opened a can of worms with suspension issues and several problems with the Honda sensing. After the lift the lane keep assist would not work properly kept giving warnings that you were veering out of lane when it was not and would try to pull you back into the lane. I would only do this if you’re Ridgeline is older and out of warranty or you have the cash to spend replacing suspension parts because they will wear out faster than normal and Honda will not fix it under warranty because of the lift. Was a huge mistake lifting it, honestly don’t think the Ridgeline was designed to be lifted like body on frame trucks.
thanks for the heads up. was looking to lift my '21, but worried about messing up the sensing.
@@JustMyNipples I had it done at a very reputable suspension place where I live and it looked badass but it caused a lot I’ve suspension issues immediately after I had the lift done.
Unless you’re willing to take on the cost of repairing any damages or Honda voiding your suspension warranty then I would definitely say don’t do it. Just my opinion but I really do not think the Ridgeline was designed to be lifted it’s engineering is to ride like a car or small SUV. When you start trying to lift it you throw the specs on this vehicle off way too much adding a lot of stress to the suspension. You’re better off just going with a body on frame truck if ground clearance is something you want to increase. Most modern trucks 2018+ have a lot of electronic safety assist features that are calibrated to the factory lift height and suspension, lifting the vehicle can potentially cause issues with these features.
I think you just help me make my decision. I guess maybe I will just upgrade to slightly bigger tires and a skid plate etc. and call it a day.
@@hybridstiger rite?! But that's exactly what I ended up doing on my 2017 Ridgeline. Just went with a AT tire that's a little meatier and added some nice wheels/rims. My son says it's slick! (which means really nice!)😆
I wanted a lift but after reading about the consequences I'm so glad for the info not to do it!
Omg! I'm so glad I didn't push to have it done. Thanx man!
I wish you guys would've posted some front and side photos
Why is the ridgeline so low from the factory? The CR-V has much more ground clearance!
Awesome...
I dont want a cheap spacer lift i want actual coil over replacement. Suspension that serves a purpose.
When I get a Ridgeline I'll wait when the warranty is up then do the lift. Maybe the company can do a performance video to advertise this lift. I wonder what "Mr Honda" back in Japan is thinking about this mod?
There are UA-camrs speculating that Honda will start offering options like better off road tires and a 1”-2” lift with the popularity of the Trailsport and with the success of Subaru’s Wilderness trim. If they know there’s enough of a demand, they’ll start making it. Honda has always been slow to evolve so I would think we’d see it on the next generation’s mid-gen facelift
Damn that looks good. I did a 2in lift on my 1st gen with 285-50-20 tires and this 3.5 is a lot more work with all those body spacers and disassembly of front strut. Now the question is how much of a hit on mpg did you take with that lift and tires? Is it doing more gear hunting on the highway while cruising? My 1st gen took a 2-3mpg hit and has trouble holding a gear on the highway.
Nice
Why doesn't Honda just offer this as an option on the new 2021 ridgeline, there coming out with a performance model why not raise it. also
Why not? I have a 2017 and loved it. Adding the height would be nice.
You don't buy jacked up vehicles from OEM for a reason. Safety and liability for one. People want Jeeps they should buy a cheap one and modify. Not a Ridgeline. It's ridiculous when you think about it.
Any shops near Jacksonville, Fl who can do this
Wth where's the finished product? 😤
What are the background noises it's very obnoxious
I have a lift. You'll lose about 5 mpg.
Honda should lift their cars and make the more agressive they may increase a line light like Renault does
Do a lift kits helps performance or hurt it...what is the purpose 🤔..just asking
Have you heard about offroad??
CV joints will die so fast…
I would really like some additional info on this.
1. What size tires do you have at the end?
2. MPG impact?
3. Total amount of clearance gained?
4. Any shimmies on the highway?
5. Total time to install lift?
This is exactly what I am and im sure many others are looking for. Also between 2 inch vs 3.5 inch lift. Anyone have any input?
Any lift is altering the design geometry to cause problems in other areas such as mpg, handling, stability etc. . Consider the increased angle on the halfshafts as well. Trouble down the road.
Honda didn’t do that because it would hurt the gas mileage it gets.
What should one expect to pay for an installation like this? I am not one who could do it myself.
Saw the 3.5" lift on a Passport looked great hopefully that dude does a review on his channel when he's done getting stuck in the sbow.🤣
While it was cool and all to see the install, I'd love to see a video describing the "why". Other than more ground clearance, what's the point? Also, how does it affect gas mileage. How does it affect handling. Does it mess up the all-wheel drive system? Maybe some info on the shop, pricing, how to contact, etc...
Like the way the front brake assembly is hanging by the brake line while he is reassembling
definitely would not bring my ridgeline at that shop, NO thanks!
If you were really paying attention there was a caliper hanger there.
I saw him hang it from a support he had in his hand. No?
I bought the Ridgeline mainly for fuel economy. Lifting reduces the aerodynamics. Big nope for me.
A lot more work for an extra inch.
Looks like a pain in the A$$. But worth it
Cool....please try a 6 inch lift on a Prius next. Kinda the same thing, but it would be cool.
I’m famous 😂
Thank you Chris! It was fun to have you around
@@traxda2756 who is an authorized installer in metro Atlanta?
It's pretty pathetic that an aftermarket company has to make a lift kit to make the Ridgeline what it should have been from the factory.
Still looks like a Honda minivan without it's C and D pillars.
Well it is. They just left off some of the roof and seats. But you can keep the wine coolers and soy latte’s cold with the built in cooler! 😎
Keep driving your ram lol. Fool
@@jasonfleming2086 oh please, you don’t need a Ram to beat this wannabe’s capacity and capability a 90’s compact pickup does that.
Looks cool, but a huge mistake.
Why?
Had to replace CV joints, then had constant shimmy at takeoff. The joints had to be replaced at instal which they didn’t tell me when I bought the kit.
@@jimghigliotti4863 Oh wow! Thnx for the heads up. My gf wants the Ridgeline or the Jeep truck. Im not getting something i cant lift properly.
@@jimghigliotti4863 I have that shimmy too. Does it need an extended driveline?
@@jorelldye4346 what lift did you install?
Do not put a lift kit on a Ridgeline, biggest mistake I ever made.
Does it hurt or help performance I'm getting a new ridgeline in a year from now..what happened to your truck 🤔
@@djgaffney1 , lowered my gas mileage and ruined two sets of CV joints.
If you can get one already lifted from the dealer, that might be an option if they warranty the lift.
Lift kits or leveling kits are made for off-road use. It will provides more ground clearance to pass some obstacles like rocks things like that, plus you can put bigger tires on the truck. Yes it will hurt the mileage and cv joints. But this is the cheap option. You can buy a full suspension set up that will cost thousands of dollars though.
@@jimghigliotti4863 how high was your front & rear lift?
All that work, might as well have just come up with a traditional shock/spring combo....🤷♀️ but what do I know, I’m just a consumer
Nothing they can do to make this p**** truck look manly
I’m wondering, why waste your time and money to lift a Ridgeline? Stock it can at least hall groceries or a few bags of mulch, now it’s just completely useless.
You're not wrong. It's a nice SUV with a lot of room to haul shit. If you want a trail rig you get a Taco or a Jeep something (does Fiat still make jeeps? dunno if I want an Italian offroader). I don't do trails. I want a truck to drive to work in the bad weather, run errands (haul yard waste, buy trees, pick up a huge TV), haul deer in the back after hunting, and tow a fishing boat to the lake. That's all she has to do, but she has to be reliable and I don't want it falling apart after a couple years like a Dodge Ram or Chevy Colorado. So this or a Nissan Frontier would probably be fine. I mean Nissan took away the manual dammitz!
@@lexwaldez I have a 2019 Ridgeline and after looking at all of the work involved with this and the tradeoffs with fuel economy and day to day drivability, I think I'll just put on some nice A/T tires that will work well up here in Canada and call it a day
@@lexwaldez Beware! Nissan is the equivalent of General Motors in Japan.
@@nickpurdy yup yup yup. At the end of the day that's what I ended up doing
