- HPD (Honda Performance Development) driver Tom O'Gorman helps our friends at College Hills Honda install a Jsport Performance Accessories 1.5" billet Ridgeline/Pilot leveling kit on a 2017+ Ridgeline.
Great video - it informed me that I will make plans to have this kit installed and just don't gripe about the labor charges :-)
What joy to see a confident human being doing a superior job and never thinking it's a big deal. Well we think it is a big deal. Nice job.
When I look at the final product I wonder if the back was lifted slightly also, or was it left stock?
Can you make more video on the suv, pilot and passport.
Whats the alignement after ? Did tou have tu adjust some ? ... There is not much ajustement ont a passport
are the shorter links used with the lift?
Does it change the ride or handling at all?
What size is that axle nut?
Maybe a silly question but does changing the geometry affect fuel mileage? High lifts like e, 4 or 5 inches apparently do. Just curious.
Yes
Lower to the ground and less air under the truck means better MPG.
I'm unable to pry the lower control arm low enough, to clear the lower ball joint going into the spindle. I can NOT get it low enough, unless I remove the control arm bolt from the bottom. If I do that, I can't get that bolt back in again due to the angle of that bushing. Any advice?
Did you get it figured out and if so how?
What’s the wheel specs on that pilot
Well I need to see how he installed the drivers as that’s where I’m having issues getting back into the ball joint. Nope
master mechanic leaving brake line dangling....thats y i try and do it all myself.
What happens to the steering knuckle, does it put undue stress on that component where it attaches to the electronic rack?
Im wondering the same thing. Im sure they will say that 1.5 inches wont affect components to wear any faster but my common sense tells me that they will especially after 100K miles. I would bet money that without a lift this truck will go so much farther before needing repairs.
@Lancelot Link Because I tow a boat, if I were to lift my 23 Rtle, I would lift both front and rear
1 1/2, but believe the rear would tow in (negitive camber) which I believe would make the rear handle weird. Just one more reason that I believe I will leave it stock and only venture on mildly bad gravel roads. Still may purchase the bash guards because on my old 2019, I did hammer a few parts on DNR roads in WA state, which I really don't want to repeat on my 2023 for sure.
@@artgopfert1124 Yeah from what ive seen I wouldn't lift a Ridgeline. The skid plates sound like a good idea. I also have a 23 RTLE and have decided that if I want to go 4 wheeling ill buy a more suitable used 4x4 that I can scratch up. I just need a street truck that gets decent MPG and I liked the comfort of the Ridgeline which gets 10 mpg better than my last truck. I dont have much use for the all wheel drive.
Finally using coated rotors
at 2:56 it looks like he let the caliper hang on the brake line?😦
Saw another video of an install and the tech said never to let the caliper hang, it can/will cause big problems, the tech used a bungee cord to support the caliper.
how much for kit and install
Has anyone tried this on an Odyssey?
Traxda has a video on rear, not front as of yet.
I would never let that guy work on my vehicle!
@U Betcha Why does that matter? For the record, I do own a 2019 RTE with no loans.
My local honda wouldn’t do my install. Disappointing.
Why Honda just doesn’t build the trucks LEVEL right from the get-go is beyond me.
Very few trucks are level. Most are up in the rear; however, I agree with you they could have come up in the front at least this much from factory.
Its so they can get maximum carrying load capacity figures. Level means less carrying capacity.
How much the labor costs for front & back?
what size tires on that pilot
yes what size are they?????
A Before and after Pic to see the Difference would of been Nice. But Hood Video over all.
Would they torque that if not on camera lol. Just kidding y'all.
I cringed we he let that break caliper just hang by the break line.
people who cringe about small things like that are gay..........
@@pf831 ... and can't spell "brake" line
Never herd of a rubber mallet 🤦🏻♂️
Then you know nothing about tools.
Wow!!! 2 years later really
easy there buddy!
read it right I never said I…
you must not be a mechanic or know how to work with tools pay attention to the video next time be 🤫
What a hack job this db should be ashamed.
Am I the only guy that thinks this guy is a hack?? Weak impact, a flexible torque wrench and a metal hammer?? I would have use a plastic dead blow on that spacer. I guess it's just me
That leveling kit is way overpriced !!! Buy the truxx leveling kit much cheaper and much better!!!
