Kevin’s thinking and mentality is exactly how teams don’t win championships. Go all in. You never know when this opportunity will come back around
Kevin is usually a downer on things but outside of a day 3 pick for a backup RB who is a bit more reliable than chandler, i can't see trading a ton.
2 words for ya - Herschel Walker
I love when you guys say that everything has gone right. They're turning over the ball at an epic rate. They had a draft pick killed. They lost Blackmon to an ACL tear. They lost their potential starting quarterback. They've been without one of the best tight ends in football for the entire season thus far. They lost their number two wide receiver for a couple of weeks. They lost their star linebacker for a couple of weeks. Let's get real here: the Vikings have already had a lot of terrible things happen. And this is where they're at! Have the stones to call it for what it is. We all expect this team to go 15-2 or 16-1 at this point.
Absolutely the best comment on this thread. They have had a lot go wrong and are still playing this well! Find me 7 losses on our schedule without closing your eyes and pointing.
Sorry… Kevin… given the opponents remaining on the schedule, 5-7 does not feel realistic. 10 total wins feels like a disaster. To say 10 wins is the most realistic outcome is monumentally short sighted. I know you want to sound partial, but you’re doing it at the expense of common sense. Get with it.
Go full Rams forget them pics win a SB who cares after that 😂
Viking's best-case scenario is 14-3 with the worst case at 11-6 with remaining schedule.
I would go all in and the reason why I think so is bflo will leave the Vikings for a head coach job!
His suit against the NFL is a real problem for him in that regard. The owners think they ARE the NFL.
He ain't leaving unless he gets an offer from a real franchise. Not gonna give up his second chance at being a HC for a dumpster fire franchise.
Going 5-7 over the last 12 to finish 10-7 wouldn't be a disappointment? What?
Agreed. This us ridiculous how the local media is painting this team as lucky.
I'm solidly in the ALL IN camp. Their record is not a fluke! Your 5-0, you've beat 3 playoff teams, beat GB at GB and have SIX more home games.
What do you want???
If they roll Detroit, best record in the NFC (with two home games away from the SB) is well within their reach.
For me it’s Gilmore and Aaron Jones. If those two guys are healthy I see 11 wins baseline.
Also I had a strange feeling today that I think Darnold is going to light up the Lions defense. 275 plus yards and 3tds
If Jones and Hockenson are both starting against the lions, it's gonna be vikings win by way of blow out...3 scores or better.
Mann!! Just give the vikings credit on the good they doing now, instead of waiting for them to fail, and ya'll say, I knew it was coming, but if that was GB/DL'S, ya'll be talking SB, again 1 game at a time.
100% agree that Vikings should go all in in this season... Feels like once in a decade lightning in a bottle and they are only a few keep pieces away in a division/conference that will get better next year.
According to the latest power rankings we have the 18th toughest schedule remaining. To me that means I would be disappointed if they didn't win 13 games (if health prevails). The Lions game at home coming off of a bye will say a lot about this team. I also agree with Matt that it's time to go all in. Kevin made the argument with how bad the drafts have been that it would actually probably be better to trade that 1 for a stud DT.
I agree heartily with Matthew about B-Flo staying with the Vikings. Why would he want to go somewhere else? KOC and B-Flo could lead this team to multiple SB’s if they stick together.
Can we get like a 1 to 5 level of what’s crazy scale?
Another thing to note… next years draft class will be one of if not the lathers in history. The last COVID year holdouts. Which means there will be a huge pool of UDFA rookies. We’ve had pretty good luck there the last couple years.
Great show.Thanks
Kevin doing some hard drugs to think Vikings fan will be ok going 10 and 7 after starting 5-0 with the best defense in the league. This mediocre mindset is why Minnesota has never won anything. And I’m glad they finally have people in place that think differently now. SKOL!!
This is 100% accurate
They've also missed the playoffs starting 4-0 and 5-0. You never know.
Regarding Brian Flores, I think he gets another chance to be an HC because he is so successful against Shanahan style offenses, which over half the NFL teams use; and he’s built his defense in large part through free agency. Also, low key, Brian Flores would be an interesting GM candidate given his obvious skill at talent evaluation.
Question: In the modern era, what percentage of HOFs spent the meaningful years of their career on the team that drafted them. So if you take all stats away from them that they accumulated on their second team would they still have made it into the HOF?
Trent Williams - ?
Brett Favre - No
Jared Allen - No
Reggie White - No?
Randy Moss - Yes?
Adrian Peterson -Yes
Joe Montana - Yes
Totally agree with Seifert's takes. Free agents can be great and can patch up holes, as they have this year with the Vikings, but sustainable success comes primarily through the draft. You have your franchise QB who hopefully will be the foundation for your team for years to come. Building upon that through successful drafts and prudent free agent acquisitions is the way to go, and you don't get there by continually trading away high draft capital.
I WASNT AWARE THAT JEFF GOLDBLUM WAS A FOOTBALL ANALYST !!! #BRUNDLEFLY
😆😆🤣
We get too caught up on 1st round picks. If we can get a PROVEN DT or RG, give up the 1st round pick. How many 1st round picks have we flushed down the toilet over the years anyway?
Great interview!!!
Would you rather have the patriots dynasty window or the rams SB run window. You trade away everything and you are on the rams path. You continue building this thing with some key free agent signings, which they have done well so far, good value in the draft, which they haven’t done well, and key building blocks like jets, jj, darrisaw, O’Neill and hopefully turner, you would be on the patriots path. Not saying they could ever be the patriots of the 2010s, but I’d rather shoot for that. But also if they went all in and won a single Super Bowl I wouldn’t complain.
Nice job Matthew. Let's Skol Crazy! give 2 first rd picks for Dexter Lawrence. Trade for RB Damion Pierce as backup pounder. Coach him up on Zone blocking scheme running. If possible, trade for Zach Wilson backup QB of the future.
Disappointed anything over 8 was acceptable in August
I've been thinking Chuba Hubbard would be a good trade target. His success rate running is no. 1 in the NFL and he us a F.A. after the season, so Carolina may let him go.
Kwesi has a 1st rounder, and two 5ths. Do you think a 5th would do it? What about Dameon Pierce who is currently injured behind Mixon, Akers and Dare at the Texans.
All were missing is a real big dog in the middle. If we can get a Dexter Lawrence, or a quinnin Williams we would be unstoppable 😅
Yep. I’d give up our first and try to get a 4th back with Lawrence or Williams.
@@joshuat7171 Delusional to think that the giants would trade arguably the best interior defensive lineman in the league for less than a first + more.
@@Adam-bx2br
If a player is due for a major payday it drops their value. I would not be surprised if he went for a first and nothing else.
@@joshuat7171 He is on the books for another 3 years. He is NOT due a new contract.
The 1st 6 games of the season 5 out of the 6 teams 49ers Houston green Bay jets and the lions have all been ranked as top 10 teams extremely difficult schedule excellent defenses. After the lions they have colts jags titans so we should get 8 wins and hit the vegas over
They could nearly have the division locked up by then.
I disagree kevin the rest of the season is looking soft. The caliber of teams left drops off after this lions game.
We probably need a RB that can catch. If Jones drops out it will change our entire dynamic.
Bottom line is that currently Kwesi only has a 1st rounder and two 5ths to trade with, otherwise it's probably player swaps.
The 1st is going to be critical for probably a CB, so unless we're talking about an elite CB, or game wrecker like Dexter Lawrence or Jeffrey Simmons - I wouldn't think the 1st is in play.
Maybe they could pick up a running back like Dameon Pierce for a 5th, he's currently injured, but only 24, and still on his rookie deal through 2025. He could be good insurance for later in the season, and transition to a rookie RB from the 2025 draft or another 2025 FA.
JJ McCarthy is NOT hurt. It’s a fake to avoid any controversy and pressure on Darnold. A great idea by the way.
Proof?
You talk like this JJ McCarthy is a lock! Suppose he’s like the Matt Corral, Sam Howell, Zach Wilson, Pickett, Bryce Young
What the heck has JJ done? NOTHING 2 tds against 2nd 3rd stringers!
You guys are nuts, thank God you don’t make the decisions!
Trade JJ to the Giants or Jets or Raiders
Lol I know right half the fan base crowning the 6th QB taken in the draft like it's a sure thing. Absolutely no credibility these people
Still, a very long way to go to be thinking about Darnold's future.
Let the organization decide they are playing for new contracts
10? I am looking at 14 maybe 15 game.
Fill the RG CB DT RB with free agents hope to draft a stud in 1st round best player available
If Darnold goes down this is all over. So without a solid QB 2 I’m only interested in a QB, Guard, RB, a big D lineman or a CB. Without mortgaging the future.
I don't mind mortgaging the future for a a Dexter or Simmons. In the send half our pass rush has fallen off. A pocket collapser that can win one on ones would dramatically help there.
It's a 1st rounder or two 5ths. That's all Kwesi has to trade with. They'll probably need to draft a quality CB for next season, so I can't see them wasting a 1st on any of those positions, and what you'd get for a 5th wouldn't be an upgrade on what they already have. A 1st for an elite game wrecking NT/DT maybe.
If anyone's QB goes down it's over. It Mahomes goes down it's over.
@@albinoslug5594 I don’t disagree but other teams do have some better backup options at QB
I think ravens did that with yannick and traded him to us
The best way to destroy the franchise for years, is to go all in on the trade.
I don’t think so if the trade is for a Dexter Lawrence or someone like that. Next years draft looks pretty mid and if they keep rattling off wins I’d do it because this seems like one of those Vikings pop up years when they go to the NFCCG.
Yeah because it totally destroyed the rams when they did it lol they won a Super Bowl well after they went rams
@@Izthefaithful , The question was, should the Vikings go crazy with an all in trade? The Vikings did that once with Herschel Walker there’s a few thieves out there and have done it lately. How’s it working out for them?
Are you going crazy and going all Lynn that’s implying you’re going to pay more than what you’re actually getting
@@Findinggod23 , what do you suggest we give up in an all Ian trades? What do we have to give up really all we have is a first round draft pick? Do you want us to give up a first round draft pick? Do you want a mortgage our future on an older defense of lineman?
@@gorkmammoth7090 the Herschel Walker thing again🙄
Some fans sheeesh.
We have a chance at a special season we need to go all in now it could be another 10 years before we are in this position again
14-3
You listen to this old guy and wait for development you will never win a Super Bowl glad he is not running anything
He’s a professional NFL reporter for 25 years. And you’re a what? Plumber? Teacher? Some dude with a phone? 😂
Unnecessary 😂
Dude is right though. If you're 5-0, you go. This stuff is rare. It amazes me the nitpicking on this team.
@ACMEpowersports So? He provided zero statistics or schematic reasons for any of his thoughts. It was just a bunch of glass half empty babbling of things that could possibly happen. Collier is good, but a lot of reporters are numbskulls.
@@ACMEpowersports imagine talking about development when the Vikings could get the 1 seed talking about JJ is delusional right now
Just need to ride it out with current roster. The wheels will fall off at some point. Next year with McCarthy will be the year
Yeah, okay guy
The wheels always fall off Viking fan. I wish there wasn’t so many fans like this lol
Yeah then he gets hurt again next year. Or he doesn't pan out. How often are you 5-0?
13 wins ? 11 is more likely
