I predicted the Vikings would go 14-3 after they beat Houston. I had them 9-8 at the beginning of the season. Their defense is the part I didn't expect. They are absolutely dominant at forcing turnovers and sacking the QB. If they defeat the Lions in week 7, I'm changing my projected win total to 15.
Manny, the Vikes are not going to lose at home with this team coming off of a bye to the 2nd best team in the Division. The Vikes are a veteran squad and know what is at stake. The Lions will be coming off a tough match against the Cowboys who just discovered some grit in Pittsburgh. 90% chance of a Vikings victory against the Lions at home coming off of the bye.
Darnold had a rough game yes, but the Jets do have the best secondary in the league. Fact is, thanks goes to Sauce Gardner, because they were so worried about JJ, that he played JJ too close. How close, well his pass interference calls helped us win. It was close, but we did come away with a win, and from here on out, NO ONE we play has a defense as wicked as the Jets. A win is a win, and a champion is determined by how they handle games against the best, in this case the best defense. Kevin O’Connell should have used more short passes after Jones went out. aka West Coast offense style like Montana did, instead of having Darnold pressing the ball downfield so much. Dink and Dunk can and does win games when you cannot run the ball.
Only problem is if they trade for say another rb or whoever who gets booted. Still only have 53 guys on the team. Plus you have to fit the players contract in the team this year as well.

I think 4-2 in the division is more likely, but even that would still be outstanding. Probably loose a stinker to the Bears (always happens lol) and then I expect them to lose to Detroit once (either at home or in Detroit).
If they can remain healthy the key to getting deep in the playoffs with Darnold is doing better making the gimmie plays. Vikings need to sweep the packers and bears maybe split a game with the lions and there is a handful of games they can roll. 11-4 and clinching the div is not out of the question
Sometimes I think you need to step back and look at a bigger picture. Coming off the bye you think the Vikings are going to end up 3-3 playing thee likes of TEN, Jax, CHI, and the Rams. Meanwhile you think the Bears, will have a winning recordd when they come here, playing Washington, GB, MN, DET, SF, and Arizona? Come on

Cracks me up how many people think JJ McCarthy is some kind of lock to lead a team to the playoffs with zero experience. Almost never happens in NFL.
I think 12 wins sounds realistic. I wouldn't expect the Lions to have more than 12 wins this season and if we win the division I think we have a minimum of 12 wins. Everyone starts 0-0 in the playoffs so home field advantage is the goal.
Its ok for them to be 14 and 3 guys. Sam Darnold will break our hearts eventually. The last two games take him out of the MVP conversation. Can we put that to rest.
Vikings have a huge issue at RB and it’s not address soon the Vikings will miss the playoffs. I know 5-0 , but if the offense becomes one dimensional putting 21 against anyone will be tough sledding

Hilarious all these people thinking that McCarthy is a slam dunk at QB. Most 1st round QB's fail or are mediocre at best when all is said and done.

He was injured. He is too fast and strong to be a bust. Even if it takes a while to improve his technique, he is still a good player 😎
