Hey ETA prime, I'm glad you like my little Vertiwild build 🤗. I'm happy to share and be able to offer what I received when I start retrogaming. Thanks for your awesome vids, regards.
Is there any lines of text that needs editing to make it show full screen on the 8” countercade? I cant get it to fill the screen properly in porportion by using the menu buttons on the lcd board. Any help?
I really love your videos ETA prime. I think I watch every one multiple times. Lol. I tried so hard to get a Raspberry Pi build for my kids and grandkids for Christmas, no luck. But we still watch when we are all together. They didn't believe me when I said I had videos games as a kid.
UPDATE! I ordered the lcd driver board from the link in the video, the seller is now sending a different model. The video is upside down on all vertical pi images. You will need to rotate your 8” screen and cut a new hole for the ribbon cable... option 2 . Become a text editor and exit the code on your image. Either way the board is No longer the same . Seller claims the old board is no longer available. Seller will tell you it works the same as the old one but it does not. Be warned before you purchase the lcd driver board that is linked in this video. I tried the following images and all presented upside down using the sellers new & improved board Mr Burns Also will not fit the screen properly even when rotated. Vertiwild Button masher
A little pro tip for Pac-Man games. You steer the stick around in circles. Don't let go of the stick and allow it to return to the center after each turn.
Can anyone help find the LCD converter board? I have a Pac-C-10178 countercade (2021) (which I think falls into the V2 category) and need to make sure I get the right one, everything seems to be sold out or dead links.
These things are pretty cool, but the screen size and, more importantly, the terrible, cheap TN panel inside of it turn me off completely. Oh well. Thanks for the video!
AWESOME! I going to mod my Pac-Man counter-cade based on your tutorial. I'm going to use @Mario Pirchala's Pac-Man image for those who don't want to add any new buttons. Thanks for the vid!
Can you show different angles when making videos, the yellow speaker wire where it connects and how to get sound, is there a way to flip the screen when it’s booted,
I have spare Sony bvm-8045qd...wondering if I could swap that in for the LCD panel in one of these. I like the idea of a mini arcade cabinet but I just can't get abide using an LCD panel. Its just too different from the true arcade experience.
thank you ETA for the detailed guide. 3 years after this video i want to mod my countercade street fighter 2 with a raspberry pi. its really hard to find the lcd driver board here in germany. any chance someone has a hint for me?
Hello ETA, I could sure use your advice. I did my first cabinet mod. With some research and some advice I was able to build my K I cabinet using a PC . But... my huge problem was trying to find the correct front end software. I tried Maximus! Did not work. Garbage! What would be the best frontend software to use? Thanks!
Really like this build and I finally finished it however the image is upside down on the screen. I’m sure this is a simple fix but I can’t find it. Do you know how I can fix this?
Could I do this without modding the stock Galaga board. How many buttons is the minimum? Would 3 be enough (a start, select and one action button) even if I couldn't play every game.
Is it possible to use the stock volume and power buttons on the ras pi? The Gen 1 machines you can reuse and write a script, curious if the countercades can do the same
Hello ETA Prime, since this uses a vertical image, and space invaders 3/4 Cab is also vertical, could you use the vertiwild image on the full size cabinet as well using a raspberry Pi?
Anyone know the text editing line needed to make the image Mr Burns or Vertiwild fill the entire screen and be correctly viewed? I cant get mine to adjust in by using the menu adjustments on the lcd converter board. Any help?
I have limited space and this seems like a stellar project. This video is older now and with leds coming down in price is there a replacement screen? Also is there a way or do you advise against lighted marquee or led surrounding. Great tutorial and very well edited Name pro bounced like the piece of furniture Couch but spelt Kauch

My issue and need for help is because when I power everything on the monitor and raspberry pi don't communicate. I have to power on the pi after the monitor for the monitor to auto detect. I would like to power on the whole unit on with one switch. Please any help will be appreciated or direction on where to find the answer thank you in advance
Could you swap out that 8" screen for a 10" LCD monitor and connect the panel directly to the raspberry pi? I just bought the Galaga countercade and was looking to do your mod and add that 10" screen.
You can, and it looks quite nice. Remember that for a bare screen you would still need a video card between it, and the Pi. They are about $60-80. I would not purchase a monitor (panel with housing and card).
the screen is not only small....even the ratio seems distorded! We should assume that the upper and lower banner during gaming are there to correct the ratio....but they distort it!!!Pacman and the shooters showed at the beginning seem fat stretched!
I followed this video. I get no picture on my arcade screen. I think i need a new control panel. I didn't buy a replacement one yet as they were sold out. But i used a raspberry pi3 b+ and still get no image. Also, i have an extra wire? Not sure where it goes.
@@glenlivet4me Its on g. I here sound only when the original dig dug cable (grey) is plugged in. I think mine was Dead on Arrival. I should ship it back. But too little too late. I bought from ebay and left a good rating by mistake.

At this point I wonder if it'd be cheaper to just find some kind of kit and make your own counter Cade since all that's being used is the wooden case and the screen.

When you say vertical games does that mean I can only play certain games on this? What does that mean a vertical game? Sorry could someone please explain that to me thanks.
I would only put games on that were meant to be played on a vertical monitor like Donkey Kong. You can put horizontal monitor games on there, like street fighter, but it would be way too small of an image to be playable.
Will you be making a video installing a pi into the head to head arcade1up tables? Also interested in buying my first pi for gaming, would you recommend the raspberry pi 3 or 4? Thx

It’s definitely crowded but if you want more games, then that’s what you have to do!!! Nice 👍🏾

You should make a video on how to mod a regular countercade
The screen is so small =(
Shrimp Zoo might as well get a fight stick and pair it to your phone lol
I would definitely put a new larger screen in it !
I saw some dude install a 15 inch monitor in portrait mode. Despite a few esthetics issues, it worked well for him. Look more sharp too.
@@artkingofwholefoods74 The 15inch screen only fits in the GEN 1 countercades. The Gen 2 would only fit a 10 maybe 12 inch.
