Selma, l love your podcasts. You set the atmosphere for calm with all of your beautiful scenery shots and of course your lovely calm and lady like demeanor. Your work is top notch and I really enjoy seeing all of your works in progress as well as the finished ones. The array of yarns is stunning. Thank you for sharing with us.💕

What a beautiful tribute to Paula, so thoughtful and heartfelt. We all lost a treasured podcast friend and I miss her kindness, enthusiasm, knowledge, and creativity that she put into each episode so much. You deserve every kind and generous comment. You share such a thoughtful approach to knitting and I hope to make a runuculous as beautiful as yours one day. Hugs from Oregon! Valerie

I will start my first Ranunculous sweater soon. I love your videos. I lost my dad as well Oct 2018. Knitting was the only way to cope. After 1 year, I decided to use up my wool stash slowly! Getting tips helps too. Very relaxing hobby & is good for memory too with all the calculations!

Thank you Selma for a wonderful afternoon’s entertainment. It’s a week later, and here in England there os no respite on our media at the moment. I so enjoy your calm and soothing voice and the beautiful knitting. Those lovely silver knitting rings look interesting- though to be honest I “ knot with both hands” when I’m doing colour work, so my yarn is on different sides of me. My mouth is watering at the sight of all those lovely yarns...time to get back to my stash and have a play!

Yes I think the knitting rings work with continental knitting as far as I know. Let’s hope for some respite soon!! 🤗

Thank you Selma. Lovely as always. I restarted knitting at the beginning of the first lockdown here in the UK and wow what a joy. I didn't know about knitting podcasts but I discovered you and binged from the beginning! You and some other lovely podcasters have taught me so much. A Felix just about to leave my needles as we speak. Thank you again. x

Oh, my, I just checked to see if you had a recent podcast less than an hour ago, and was sad to see there was nothing, and then this came up! ❣️ I love your Ranuncului! I am knitting on my ninth one as I watch this. I have four daughters and knit one for each of them, and I just can't stop, for all of the reasons you mentioned. 😀 I also had the same thing happen with knitting the yoke that you experienced with forgetting the K1, several times. My eye just passed over that part! LOL I am currently knitting one in just mohair by itself, inspired by The Knitting Traditions podcast. ❣️ It will probably go to my oldest daughter, Aimee, as the color is perfect for her. Speaking of compliments when wearing Ranunculus, my daughter Kate is a teacher, and one day when she was wearing her purple Ranunculus, her principal, a man, complimented her on it. When she said that her mom had knit it for her, her principal replied, "Wow, I thought you'd bought it at Anthropologie!" , which is a rather pricey women's clothing store here in the US. It did make me smile, for sure! Both of your Ranuncului in progress are beautiful, but I confess that now I want to knit one in olive green. 😍

Wow!! I know there are people who have knit many ranunculus! I wonder if there is anyone else who has knit 9! I’m glad you are out there! I have actually been thinking of making one for a friend of mine who always comments on mine. Happy knitting!

I LOVE your UA-cam Webcast (or vlog). You have such a warm, friendly, strong & wordly personality. You clearly express your ideas, thoughts & experiences. You make the effort to be respectful & correctly pronounce words as they are meant to sound. Because you complete so many knits, you really inspire many of us. Thank you for expanding my horizons & ENABLING 😜 the heck out of my knitting mojo!!! I gave colorwork a try because of you. I am now dozens of colorwork patterns richer, I've dyed non-superwash fingering, dk merino & icelandic worsted yarn to start knitting more pullovers or cardigans (which ofcourse I now HAVE-TO steek...geez!).
    All. Your. Fault!
I was an innocent subscriber, just plotting along, happily knitting socks. Now I'm a fiend & also find myself testing the Lumme pullover for Sari Nordlund. I absolutely love knitting, thank you for the inspiration & the company you provide while I knit & while in lockdown. Best wishes!

Hello Selma, I have been watching you podcast for a year or more and really enjoy it, especially the beginning and ending videos of Ottawa. I grew up there but have been living in NS for almost 40 yrs now. I want to thank you for enabling me to buy more yarn :) from Alley Cat Yarns. Melissa also helped with her email re provincial tax being charged as of May 1. So some fingering singles are coming my way to be paired with some mohair silk from Les Garcons to make my first Ranunculus. If it turns out and she likes it the sweater will be a gift for my daughter on her birthday at the end of this month. Also the Nutriden yarn , I first heard about this yarn from Lisa on Knitting by the Sea podcast, a spinner/knitter in Marblehead US, and you may want to try Fleece and Harmony podcast, 2 sisters who grow, mill and dye their own yarn on PEI. Until your next podcast stay healthy!

Secondly I want to say thank you for sharing about Paula from the knitting pipeline. I quite by accident found her audio podcast as a beginner knitter not knowing anything about the knitting community of podcasters available and I feel so blessed to have found her style of knitting. I remember downloading her podcast and listening to her while combining in the fall; my husband in the combine and I in the grain truck hauling grain. She made many late nights easier to handle. RIP Paula.
My question that I have for you is “ what does the store name Wabi Sabi mean?” Thank you again for your commitment to the art of knitting as it makes me smile.

Thank you for your lovely story about Paula☺️☺️ Wabi Sabi is a Japanese term that I believe has to do with creating and accepting the transient and imperfect aspect of creation.

Thank you for another great podcast Selma! I also have two “Ranunculi” and do not rule out another! It is such a beautiful and satisfying pattern! Your Olive green one will be stunning, especially with your blond hair!

Ahhh! Lovely! This has been such a relaxing way to start the day, knitting and catching up with you. I am now tempted to fish out that yarn that was set aside for a new Ranunculus.....😬

Terve - it was me who bought the ring. I found it kept spinning around on my finger, so I ended up going back to two handed knitting. I will give it a whirl again though. I am also testing Lumme - I am on the last cuff, so I will be done tonight. I am using Berroco Ultra alpaca which I had in stash. This is my 20th test knitting for Sari - I love her patterns!

Hei Leea! I’m sorry the ring didn’t work out for you. I’m assuming you tried to make it smaller? I find I tilt it a bit towards me and it stays there. I may have short stubby fingers though! 😂

@@littlebigknits My fingers are pretty stubby too - maybe the yarn is too thick. I will certainly try it again. I loved your Ranunculi - it’s in my queue along with fifty other projects! hyvää pääsiäistä!

I'm always so glad to see your podcast. Such a treat.
I gotta say I love how you pronounce everything as it should be.
All your Ranunculi are lovely. You make me want to take the plunge and knit one for myself.

I love Whistlebare! I joined the Spring Intention shawl designed and hosted by Kat at Heather and Hops. She is doing it I. Conjunction with Whistlebare. I ordered the kit through them and the yarn is glorious. It is the Cheviot Masham. That Myrtle sweater is gorgeous. I think that Sari Norlund sweater is gorgeous and your stitches are great. I’m working on my very first serious color work piece, a Cowl by Knitting Tradition. I’m very nervous but having fun. If I get good at colorwork, I’m going to order that ring. I have that Ranunculus pattern on my list. It is such a pretty look. I checked out Hawthorn Cottage after you mentioned her and I really enjoyed her and subscribed. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you Selma for this generous Easter episode. I never knitted a Ranunculus but it has been on my top favorite list for long. I loved your tips on the repeated increase there and various yarn options. I bought the pattern now and as soon as I find the perfect yarn, I will start my first (and I have a feeling also that it will not be my last!). I am about to start the Lucky Pieces colourful vest in Pompom no 36... maybe I’ll join your Colourplay KAL with that one... gonna check that out at least.
