I was extremely fortunate to get a review copy of the Shadow of the Erdtree. I went through my first playthrough fairly quickly as I wanted to leave some more stuff for a blind playthrough on stream. That being said, this video has no spoilers other than the starting area, the name of a weapon, and the effect of a physick tear / talisman. - Ігри
Scott sounds so different in his ER vids like he doesnt despise his life.
Because he’s talking about a game he actually likes lol
@@internet-spacetest bro why he play the other game he plays? For me it looks meh😅
@@GrayWolf1997 the other game puts food on the table, unfortunately this doesn't somehow
He was sounding like he was completely deflated with ER when it came out due to how broken the meta was, seems like he’s come full circle now. I still remember when he was mostly a Souls guy and one of the most beloved in the community
@@aPumpkn Not true. Its because he gets burned out. There is nothing to do for him thats why he left elden ring
You got a review copy!? Congrats, Scott! That must feel great to be recognized with that honor. As a DBD player I’m looking forward to following your Elden Ring arc this time around 🎉
the part im most excited about for this dlc is getting to watch your souls content again
Cant wait for the pvp builds
Hearing you say how hard the final boss is makes me worried for my NG+4 character going in.
Oh boy.
I don't want any spoilers but it's honestly really cool they gave you a copy to review it
sellout
Holy shit that final boss is gonna be brutal
He is. God damn he is.
This is the best review out there
That bit about the final boss is HYPE
And ongbal beat it without taking damage in *checks watch*
4 days
I only hope the final boss will be difficult for the right reasons. That one-shot thing you mentioned is terrifying.
The tryhards will defend the bullshit difficulty. Already calling it, then they'll bitch and moan if it gets nerfed.
Thank you for keeping it as spoiler free as possible. I actually cannot wait for this
So happy for you getting a review copy, no shame in diving in ASAP, I definitely would have done the same, you deserve it for being such a devoted member of the souls community.
Making the "mini sequel" to Elden Ring as a big, and relatively expensive, DLC is a pretty good idea. The devs can reuse the same engine as is, while concentrating on just making new content.
Also, who's ready for 18 inches of Messmer??/
thanks for the great video Scott!
hopefully look forward to a return to your Narrated Thought Duels & Invasions
Holy shit you made this dlc sound absolutely amazing and while I tried and somewhat failed to only listen to avoid most of the spoilers what I did see looks awesome, I can’t wait to see your play through of this as soon as I’m done playing mine
my god i’m excited for that final boss
What Radahn. Again. With an incest theme. Lol 😂
No way it's gonna be as hard as radahn. I hope.
@@DubiousmonkyOh it absolutely will be, everybody’s saying it’s the hardest boss Fromsoft ever made
@@Dubiousmonky radahn wasnt even that hard, the comparisons is worse than malenia
@@CeaerCeaerI don't think you realised why he said "radahn" specifically
I love a Spoiler review that is also free! Thanks for not making me have to pay Scottland!
Ok im freaking scared now
Having played the dlc now, I love the way he weaves little hints into the review that cant be considered spoilers but are still noticeable to people who know what he means
Im not mad I would've done the same thing Scott 😂😂😂 real glad you got a review copy, that's hype man
Im really glad to hear this is some blood & wine level pf content amount!! Its like 50 bucks so it makes the purchase feel better!
thank you to scott for taking a break from his regularly scheduled content to play some ER for us fans lol
He is actually a soulsgames freak, dbd just became his main thing because it keeps updating alot and that its an online game like fortnite
@@NokronzYeah man, he was BIG in the DS3 era. Probably one of the most popular souls content creators back then.
I remember when this channel was called DamnNoHTML lol
@@Nokronz yea ik that. it was a joke cuz i stopped watching him since he went on DBD. i used to watch him alot when he was Damnnohtml when he had alot of tournament stuff.
That armor looks awesome, can't wait to get it
It’s so overwhelming it’s going to take three playthrough a to process everything. Super lore heavy and the atmosphere is way different I love it
From what I found, this expansion is as big as what most people thought Elden Ring was going to be.
Great to hear you liked it. Could you please upload a full playthrough here on youtube when it's released and you're allowed to?
Yo Ive been debating keeping Melina alive for DLC cause I wasn't sure if she would make an appearance. Do u have any info on if it is worth keeping her alive and not going to Farum Azula?
Invisibility backsteb frames ? I wonder if that works with the estoc backdash and the curved sword backflip
What I love seeing in the dlc is all the new cool weapons and spells. :)
What I hate seeing in the dlc is that which makes me imagine the nightmare of balancing all that for PvP. It’s impossible. :(
Like it looks to me that spacing and timing attacks is just . . . Gone. So many of the weapons can attack infinitely from range or melee, and have an insane reach.
Seeing in this video that the giant walking brazier is just a regular enemy and not a boss is INSANE!
Alright, now on the question at hand. Can a DLC win game of the year?
Don't know about the metrics but it is the highest rated expansion in history lmao. Miyazaki is crazy man
@@Xora88 Dude legit made a whole other game inside of Elden Ring, I kinda want it to win GOTY just to see how the industry reacts to that, could be amusing to see.
hm, i'll have to see if that attack you mentioned that was the best ever in a videogame is true, cause the attack from xemnas in kh2 with the lasers was the best imo
damnnohtml my beloved
Great review Scott. What is this red cloak armor in the video? Thanks.
Awesome, nice to see some souls content from you! Will you be uploading your first playthrough to UA-cam?
I’ve been struggling to enjoy the vanilla game so hopefully this gives me some motivation.
Weeping Peninsula has always been part of Limgrave.
I want that dragon's head!
Hello Scott, as a player, does it make sense to begin a full new play thru or to continue with a previous character? For context i have a level 200 char that i beat all bosses with and have most of the stuff in the game. Basically, does the DLC affect the experience of the game before you "get" to the DLC? Are there new weapons spells incants etc that pop up before the DLC or nah?
Continue with a previous character
So what sort of ~yay~ed up swamp did they add to the DLC?
This is sick, congrats on the review copy! Did you stay 150 for the entire playthrough? Trying to get a gauge on what level to walk in on
i started 138, ended 161
this makes my so hype
Damn I really want to fight the pre nerf final boss but I don’t want to rush through the game. It took me months to beat Elden ring because I was exploring so much
Oh god it’s not even out yet and this discussion is already a thing. Man is every FromSoft game going to be like this now.
i only have one save on pc and that's my rune lvl 1 character. safe to say that this dlc is gonna take a long time for me to complete.
Cons : Final boss might actually be too hard...LESGOOOOOOOOOOOO
Speaking of putrescence, I picked up the putrescence cleaver and it says that arcane increases it’s power, but I’m unsure if that just refers to the scaling or something more. 10/10 would recommend it😊
The difference between DbD Scott and ER Scott is insane. He sounds so full of life
3:19 Wouldn't that PVP oriented spell be Myriam's Vanishing at 1:57 ?
I never even finished the main game (stopped after Liurna when I found myself lost in that underground labyrinth with spiders) and I should, for sure, but I don't remember anyone in the base game using that spell.
you're making me want to get back into elden ring and do this dlc man
Me getting ready to struggle with the final boss of the DLC because I'm gonna refuse to change my "big sword" playstyle
Long and hard didst thou wait, tarnished warrior.
Do ng+ builds affect the difficulty, or can I hop in with any build with the same difficulty?
NG+ will make it harder.
How do u compare the last boss to any soulslike games?
For reference how many tries did bosses like mohg and melania take you on first playthrough? I'm trying to prepare how much ibuprofen to buy. 😤
Mogh wasn’t that hard. Like 6 tries for me on my first play-through, but I had friends so yeah.
I think the "big reveal about an important character" everybody is mentioning will be that Melina is the Gloam-Eyed Queen, and the Gloam-Eyed Queen will be the final boss. But idk how they would make that work because of the differences whether or not you inherited the Frenzied Flame. Maybe she would have unique dialogue in the fight like Maliketh does? Still not really sure. Whoever the boss is, I can’t wait
Did you at least record your play through so we can see it?
Wtf I couldn’t find this video of you, I saw your tweet about rating the DLC as a masterpiece. But when I looked through your channel I couldn’t find it?? It just showed up for me
No fucking way. June 20th needs to come faster!!!
Bayle felt like fighting king ghidorah
(3:59) if that spell (third down on left) is what i think it is then good genizah commit azure will have a great back up damage
Having 11 scadutree fragments at the final boss is WAYYY too low. I applaud you for beat it at all, summons regardless at that level. I did at at 19 blessings and felt that the damage he did was appropriate.
Ok I’m hyped
Stop my heart can only take so much hype
I actually like the gank fight you said was bad, reason being:
SPOILER
I got Ainbach to help me and summoned mimic tear, it felt like a gang fight and was really epic to see all the characters clashing.
Oh my god I can't wait for the last boss to make me incredibly mad.
I’m positive the weapons will be “fixed” with the day one patch they are having. Probably kept the dmg and actual values so low for spoilers
I miss when this channel was more than a billboard for DBD
imo, the Final boss only really has 1 truly bullshit attack and that's the double spiral he does after the pull in phase 2. The phase 1 version is possibly dodgeable by jumping out of it but the phase 2 one I cannot conceivable dodge. Where as every other attack he does I've dodged successfully and might be able to master for some. The after effects also aren't as bad as people say. It just makes the attacks more about dodging the area of the hit more than the hit itself.
My main gripe with the fight are the optional extenders he has for two of his attacks, but i think his posture might be a clue for whether or not the attack is over or not
The only review that matters
nice mh vids naota-san :)
wait so is final boss actually good? Are we actually seeing the real final boss from the leaks?
1:58
We uh, we just ignoring that for now?
THAT WAS FUCKING SICK, WHAT?
now's as good a time as any to get back into this game i suppose
7:43 Nice ;)
I wonder who the extremely tedious boss you were referencing is...
“Like radahn did” LOL
ARE THERE ANY NEW BLACK FLAME INCANTATIONS???
So whos stronger between Gael, Nameless king and the final boss of the dlc
this one by a large margin
@@ScottJundwas the health sponge boss THAT bad at the end? I know you have tried to keep things spoilerfree in here, just curious about your thoughts if you are disappointed with any main bosses. 😅
Gael isn't even a hard boss
Is there any trophies?
No comment about the pvp/multiplayer? Did anything change here?
Considering he has an early copy, I doubt anyone was there to pvp with. And if they were they'd probably be playing the dlc instead of fighting other players if it was possible.
@@gooptar3051 Yeah but I was thinking about covenents or something he could of seen even while playing offiline. But I guess we will know for sure in 3 days!
@xReifox if there were covenants added, I'm sure scott would've said so and just not disclose what they're called to avoid spoilers
mister jund are you allowed to share where to go to access the dlc
Google it.
FUCK I HAVE WORK THE DAY IT COMES OUT
So if you sad "final boss" and not just Messmer, does it mean we will fight Miquella?
the superboss is Bayle the Dread dragon thats the impossible one, Radahn plus Miquella is one story end boss but theres 2 other options
If I have 80% damage reduction, and I increase it by 5%, I don’t take 5% less damage, but 25% less.
Eveb though its my favkrite game of all time i havent been feeling the hype, soni actually havent been spoiled by anything. Other than a few b roll of awesome karate shit and perfume as weapon thats all ive seen. But im the hype is beginning.
Can someone let us know what level we need to be, i have one character in new game plus around crumbling azul and a new charavter around 80 thats just got to mohg palace edit pardon the typos
Some UA-camrs got to play the game early (before this) and they were given premade level 150 characters.
@bobertastic6541 150! Okay well that gives me a ball park. Thanks for the FYI!
125 minimum i suppose
at least 100. Level doesn't seem to matter all that much as the scadu fragments are what will dictate progression. As long as you have at least 40 vig you're probably fine.
Considering it's the last ER boss we will ever get. I'm perfectly fine with it being too hard. Gives the level 300+ chars a challenge.
"like Radahn did" 😑 don't tell me
Maybe Fromsoftware looked at Kingdom Hearts in terms of last superboss. It's about time !
Would you say the final boss is the hardest wall you have ever hit in a soulsborne game?
yup
@@ScottJund ok is it worse than P100 comp Nurse tho?
@@ScottJundjust to be sure - we are talking about someone else than particular dragon. Or this boss is dragon?
The smaller size and density aspect is what is making me hope this dlc is going to fix a lot of the problems Elden Ring initially had with its open world and side content, which felt bloated and eventually stagnant. I’ve always thought Elden Ring would be better if most of the side content was just removed, and the game overall was smaller to just alleviate the stress and pressure/ existence of a lot of the that meandering consistent copy and paste.
I dunno if i wanna pay 40$ for this scott, i mean i do play these games and i love em, i have barely 500 hours into the base game and im always playing fortnite, sometimes i return to Elden ring to help ppl beat Malenia or Maliketh and thats really it, really appreciate the review
I need to experience that boss before they nerf it. I will beat only my trusty broadsword.
Holy shit, harder boss than malenia
What cloak are you wearing?
Idk why they make this so hard without an other option, some of us aren’t good at games and just wanna enjoy the world and lore
That’s just what Soulsborne is, and it’s not for everyone.
This dlc is like Iceborne size my god
teleport spell teleport spell
How long would you say the average first play through is?
Name of armor?
Fire Knight set
What the hell is this final boss?
Bayle the Dread dragon
I don’t understand, how do you guys make the last boss so hard? It only took me 6 tries. They have no poise just bonk them.
i'm hyped as hell for this i hope it doesn't rob too much of my time from DbD (i still have to stockpile cobblers)
A GHOSTFLAME DRAGON
Give it time, people will be more honest about the dlc and im not talking about difficulty. The dlc has serious flaws like
- completely empty exploration
- loot that's useless (smithing stones everywhere but I CAN JUST BUY THEM)
-repeat enemies and bosses (theres like a few enemies that you fight over and over and over again. Gets old)
- no way to keep track of tree fragments and theres no extra ones so good luck backtracking just to be able to fairly beat a boss!!
