- I can't find him anywhere in Drezen after the conversation. Anevia, Irabeth and Arueshalae comment on the NEW TIMELINE you've casually created. I'll post if he resurfaces and I can recruit him as the rumors allege.

It's pretty funny how the narration points out: wow, you changed 70 years and that did almost nothing!
In a way, its true. The only things that changed are the events linked to Staunton himself. The attack on Kenabras happens, Minagho tries to corrupt the Wardstone, you still gain mythic power. None of these changed because Staunton's fatal mistake was unconnected to these events.
Where it gets interesting is in events related to Drezen. The Fifth Crusade still gets formed, and marching to Drezen is still the first objective. What changed is that the goal is to break a 70 years long siege instead of liberating Drezen. And Staunton was in charge of Drezen as its heroic defender instead of an usurping traitor. Instead of trying in vain to redeem himself for 70 years, Staunton has been heroically defendin the last free crusader fortress in the Worldwound for just as long.
your last decision in changing time has the real consequence since the rest of the plot is relatively minor in comparison
@@luiousy7329 that makes sense, in the end is about fixing history, so doing it progressively as you gain power it is more reasonable.
Just because you alter one part of history, does it means it will affect the whole. Sure Staunton never betrays the Crusaders and Drezen still stands but the 2nd Crusade will be still ends in failure. (Since people still had no idea how to close the worldwound after all)
@@TricksterPoi Butterfly effect would be in full force here. A major city and military stronghold being populated and functional vs abandoned to the enemy for 70 years is huge. The conceit of "it was under siege the entire time so it was isolated from the rest of the world and nothing else changed" is nonsense if you think about the logistics for a second. Whole generations would live and die there and need supplies and support, somehow, even if the whole war wasn't won. 70 years against endless demons working within a totally closed system? No way.
By the way, I like how well your character name synergizes with the Aeon storyline. Muninn, or "Memory" in the Old Norse, is EXACTLY the kind of name you'd expect an Aeon to have!
Best part is I wasn't even planning on an Aeon necessarily, nor did I know the storyline going in. It all just... came together.
@@Chrimp1724 Like it was influenced by an aeon XD or fate.
@@JackdawLT It was all predetermined from the start, clearly. Or is that what I am meant to believe, having been led to that conclusion by a future self's careful manipulation of the timeline?
[Insert Incoherent Screaming Here]
Isn't Munnin the name of one of Odin's crows?
@@LordSerion Ravens, but yes, you're right!
It seems the choice you pick in the event will state how Staunton think about you, either as a "time-traveling" warrior who warns him about the consequences of his actions or aeon.
Act 5 Update: Still no sign of Staunton. Either he is easily missed, truly is a LATE game companion, or is not a companion at all. I'll post a video if he appears but it's seeming less and less likely as I progress. UPDATE: Staunton only ever shows up as cameos. He also retains his Act 1 statblock, making him collapse any time someone so much as sneezes on him.
He will not be a companion for Aeon. Only for lich. If you do redeem him, he will protect the Sword of Valor in Iz, so you will be able to go to the archives and save the Queen without losing it.
@@slurvrog1 In spite of this, I bamboozled myself by going to the Sword of Valor anyway. The Queen is still alive but everyone and everything else in the archives was lost. On the plus side, there was no one to complain when I stripped the Queen of her eternal youth.
He and his brother appear next to the blacksmith (near Wojif) in Drezen. I had to turn my camera upside down to see them both.
I appreciate this video
Thanks. I'm currently restarting as the Angel mythic path and will be able to post Gold Dragon content as well, though I don't know how long it will take me to reach that stage since I'm playing on Core instead of Normal this time.
I can't find him either. I'm thinking it's just story element...has anyone seen his brother though? Wondering if he came back as well
I did not see the brother either. I'd be disappointed if this were just some background flavor though. Being able to alter reality is only great if it actually has an impact beyond a scene and a few lines of dialogue.
Could you tell at what mythic level of Aeon this becomes possible? I want to redeem Staunton badly, but some of Aeon's outcomes I heard about are not for me completely.
I can't recall what mythic level it was, but this is in Act 3 (post-Drezen capture). From memory it was the ending of the "Burden of the Aeon" quest where you go around the city dragging criminals to trials and sentencing them. With that aside, I suspect Staunton doesn't physically show up again until Act 5 after this scene though I'm not sure because bugs introduced in one of the hotfixes are preventing my progression.
@@Chrimp1724 oh, I see, thanks!
I was able to do it immediately after getting to Mythic 4
Thanks for the video, Here's a subscribe :)
Thank you for indulging my crippling addiction for numbers increasing in numerical value.
@@Chrimp1724 hey got any idea why I can't use that rift I see it in town but it does nothing and whwn I go to the world map to the other rift it say something about a source of power needed
@@thewishy23 Keeping in mind that its been nearly two weeks so my memory might not be exact: The rift in town simply needs you to complete the rest of the Burden of the Aeon quest. The other rift I assume is the one inside of a certain hovel. Interact with everything else in the hovel and it should become clear as to how to proceed.
Wish you could do something akin to this in other paths, but I do like how it’s restricted to the path that makes the most sense.
Strictly speaking it makes the least sense as an Aeon. Aeons are all about "balance" and things "playing out as they should" and an easily manipulated fool being manipulated by a monster specifically focused on manipulation is about as "played out as it should" as you can get.
@@jimmydesouza4375not really. From Aeon perspective, a demon should have never been on material plane in the first place.
@@bengunn9670 And neither should an aeon then. But no, planar travel is an inherent and normal aspect of the reality of Pathfinder.
@@jimmydesouza4375 normally it's not easy to achieve. Demons fight for centuries for a mere shade of such an opportunity. But here they just walk wherever they want. These events would not be possible without worldwound.
And Aeons are not extraplanars, they are not even individuals basically.
do you need a certain mythic level to do this? I can see the tear in the city right now but i am unable to access this
Just proceed to the end of "Burden of the Aeon" and from memory it will be more than just a slight rift that can only be examined. I can't recall exactly what mythic rank you'll be by then.
I was able to do it immediately after hitting Mythic 4
Eventually you will receive a quest to go to a certain "hovel" far away. Once there you should receive a mythic level up to 4. You also then see a rift inside that hovel and after this can access the one in Drezen as well
Where did you find him after redeeming in Drezen? Been looking for an hour already. Help pls
Supposedly he stands near the Blacksmith after this, but I didn't spot him on my run - so next time we interacted was at Iz in Act 5.
Is he now part of the team or just npc joining somewhere crusade?
In my renegade aeon he joined crusade and I met him in Iz, but he wasn't part of the team.
It was the same for me. He and the others who's fates you can alter show up in battles as cameos and nothing more.
Would've been so awesome to get him as a companion
all that, and he STILL doesn't become a party member. smh
Just be a lich.
But his brother is still dead? as your forced to fight him as you retake drezen...
Since Drezen never falls, his brother would be alive - after all, he only fought you because Staunton had turned evil. If Staunton never becomes evil, his brother has no cause to fight you.
That said, I didn't see him personally.
What is going on you changed 70 of history, drezen never fell ? Does that means act 1 and 2 didn't happen ? What about the hidden rift under drezen that was built after it's capture by the demons? Is that still there ? How if drezen didn't fell ? So many questions?
Drezen has been under siege for about 70 years. Its defenders could not die of starvation or old age due to the power of the banner. In Act 2, the hero does not free the Drezen, but breaks through the environment.
@@user-xc6vq3vl7b
The game actually show this ? Cause act 1 and 2 will be the same no matter what mythic path I chose
Nice spoiler, thanks youtube feed
