What I love about Rachael's singing is that she always does it right for the song. She doesn't overpower the music behind her. And the temptation has to be there with a voice like hers. Here she doesn't do anything spectacular or flashy, but it comes off as absolutely incredible. And I think Bridget is a top 5 bassist of all time. As great as Rachael is on the vocals I always come back to Bridget.
@@kitano0 You're right. I was confusing this with another song of hers from this time, Something to Talk About. The writer of that Shirley Eikhard just passed away, and that was on my mind.
2-3% notes from a hopeful perfectionist: guitar a tad too harsh, could have used some limiting on the riffs vs. muted plucks, both left a bit distant in the soundscape choir too low in the mix as are the clockwork drums (perhaps kick only) bass boost is so freaking great live sound is so hard to get right
THIS IS A DOPE COVER!! RACHEL PRICE PUT HER HEART AND SOUL INTO SINGING THIS JOINT!! BONNIE RAITT IS PROBABLY SOMEWHERE SMILING FROM EAR TO EAR!!!!!! AND BRIDGET IS KILLING IT ON THE BASS!!!!
I dig it. I read comments on songs recorded decades ago and they're "there's no music like this today" and they just have no idea there is quality such as LSD. Many others, but I agree, LOVE LSD!!
@IdealDanl exactly bro. I love the old records too but I´m not blind. We are lucky that it exists lots of talent people producing awesome stuff nowadays. The majority is not on mainstream, but ok... I don´t care for mainstream, I care for good stuff.
I was hoping to hear something from you again and boom, there you are😃👍🏻‼️ We love 😍 all your voice 🎤Rachael, but I also love the others, you are just fantastic musicians 🥁🎸🎹🎸🎼🎶🎺 the cd 💿 is terrific 👍🏻 Greetings Volker 😃 from Frankfurt/ Germany, I wish you a Merry Christmas 🎅🏻🎄☃️ and a happy new 🍀 year 🍀 👍🏻🍀 Stay healthy 🍀 and lots of creative ideas 🎼🍀👍🏻
I've seen you guys live and Charleston and Denver and I would travel to see you guys anywhere else because you put on an amazing show. Come to Boulder Colorado! We love you here! You have such a distinctive voice Rachel and the rest of the band is so technically competent and beautiful too! Thank you for filling my phone with beautiful music
Love this arrangement. The keyboards forward arrangement, along with the backup vocals and the groove makes it sound like Stax or Muscle Shoals sound. Just wonderful. Bravo. I'm sure Bonnie Raitt is appreciative too.
I first found your UA-cams videos back when you were singing on the sidewalk. 🙂. This is a whole new level of sound, production, and creating an immersive experience. This is going on my play list for late nite reveries. I wish you every success.
You've a lot of GREAT vids to catch up on. Start with the ones where they return to NEC (New England Conservatory) where the original members all studied and got together) ua-cam.com/video/Lr2k_nGsxkc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/wuW7Nncv1Wc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/t0uTlI7BVdw/v-deo.html (The list goes on)
everyone perfect as always. I keep spreading the word up here in AK ,I’m sure we all would flip if we knew you guys could make it here. I’ll keep wishing and praying.
It is always a great pleasure to listen to you! Is there a possibility, sooner or later, that you will come on tour in Europe, even better in Italy? It would be wonderful to hear you live here in Italy Hope is always the last to die!!!! THANK YOU for your music 👏👏👏👏
We all love us some Bonnie Raitt, but LSD and Rachael Price did her great props here. This is the first time I really understood the words to the song, which are, in a way, very simple and straightforward and real life.
Nice song! My nephew and his wife are going to a concert of yours thought not sure if you will be singing this song! Anyway! God’s blessings to you and all going to the concert 🙏😊🙋🏼♀️🕊️☀️✝️
I like Rachel, and I prefer to appreciate performers on their own merits, but this is one long reminder of how rich, warm, and soulfully great Bonnie Raitt's voice is.
So I went back to my music and pulled out the Bonnie Raitt version and was interested to find the the lyrics were less distinguishable in the BR version. I have been a fan of both (I saw BR in concert in a high school auditorium in Anchorage, Alaska in ~1980). I’m wondering why? Better diction by Rachael Price or advances in tech? Or? If anyone has any ideas, I’d be interested in hearing.
Recording technology has come miles in the last few decades, same reason coincidentally why movies seem to have gotten 'mumbly' as time goes on. I believe the standard amount of audio channels in the 80's was somewhere between 8-16. Today you can literally have over a hundred, and your audio drivers on your phone or mp3 or PC can do a much better job simulating all of them. For movies, because the dynamic range is so wide, that means more mumbles as those channels get combined and simulated. Music, however, is made with consumers in mind rather than Dolby Atmos movie theaters so when you get a release it tends to get more clear.
Props to the sound engineer on mixing Bridget. That bass sound is SICK
Props on the whole mix... nicely done! 👏
Yes, I came here to say the same. Been loving one of the other live versions of this, but the bass was inaudible. This is much better.
It doesn’t hurt that she is as good a bass player as there has ever been!
@@bobbypeak2444 : 😂😂😂
This band is absolutely brilliant.
All in this band are top-notch musicians and Rachael is a phenomenal singer.
Damn, Rachael's voice is silky smooth ❤
Imitation is the highest form of flattery! Bonnie is smiling!

I could hear every instrument and the groove that they all created was something fine. And what a singer.
What a beautiful cover
Perfect. Thank you Lake Street Dive, for making such great music. Nice lyrics to "Nick of Time".
Written by Bonnie Raitt
@@kitano0 Raitt sang it on her album, but it wasn't written by her though.
@@VCT3333 Yes, it was.

And who couldn’t love this group? They’re wonderful
Damn! That girl can sing and this band plays tight together. Love them! Bonnie would be proud.
This is a friggin groove. Incredible vocals, incredible arrangement, outstanding mix. I have no notes.

I love this band. I think I write this in every video.

I’m glad there’s still decent music out nowadays you just gotta dig for it
Bonnie would approve!
The voice is always perfect but the lyrics are especially good here, you did it justice.
I love love her voice!
Rachael is simply amazing
What a bonus. Right place right time on UA-cam. Brilliant, brilliant. Slick, catchy - a play-on-loop-type song. Love from Wales
A voice sent form the gods old and new.

The band is locked in time!
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome band and a fantastic singer
Great sound !!
😁😘
The voice is booming. Loving those guitar licks between the “scared to run out of time” to the next verse.
Love this arrangement. The keyboards forward arrangement, along with the backup vocals and the groove makes it sound like Stax or Muscle Shoals sound. Just wonderful. Bravo. I'm sure Bonnie Raitt is appreciative too.
Good combination of Vocals , Harmony , Percussion , Acoustic & Electric Instruments . A good model for the modern band .
Love all of this … band members all singing and playing - the blend is phenomenal and of course the lead singer is🔥❤️
Beautiful...
mesmerizing tribute to Bonnie !!! best wishes from germany!
Fantastic!
A great voice with bluesfeeling and big swing. I think we don´t have such a great singer in Germany!
Sarah Connor - sings many styles but has a great blues/jazz voice.
Just... LUSH. What a sound!
Wow! This gal is great!
Bridget is unreal. So perfect on bass.
Just making the connection between covering this song and actually having a baby! Bonnie Raitt came to my town right when this dropped too, amazing! 🤩
Can't wait to see you in St. Paul!!
soo good. Her voice sounds great in my ears :)
And for some reason every performance I've heard from this band has a bass that sounds fantastic.
Such a wonderful group of artists!
Fantastic job!
LOVE! What a gift. Happy Solstice. Blessings!!!
REALLY sweet, beautiful work all the way around.
So damn good
Beautiful and very soulful !!!!

Wow, didn't realized they'd gotten a real guitarist, what a huge addition to their sound
Rachael Price is everything. Fantastic cover, possibly better than the original - and that is saying a lot.
I like Rachel, and I prefer to appreciate performers on their own merits, but this is one long reminder of how rich, warm, and soulfully great Bonnie Raitt's voice is.

I need to go to dereles
I would listen to Rachael sing IRS forms. Especially with Bridget's bass accompaniment.
Hi Friends 👋
Thanks for singing the song instead of trying to put a particular spin on it which always sounds like the singer stepped on a nail.
If I was 45 years younger...hell, I'd be chasing you woman!!
Bonnie likey
those lines are pretty hard to take when they're staring right back at you
is this the band from the Somebody Feed Phil theme song?
❤️🤩🌈😍
just in the nick of time i found rachael again !
Ok just print it. No need for anything in post! I mean dear Jesus….how does it get better than that?!?!?
New guitar player?
Yes. McDuck left a while ago. New guy's name is James Cornelison.
What a great addition 😊
Just what they needed
Even though you didn't even know it
