Home Free mostly does covers, has no instruments, and has 1.8M subscribers (which is nearly 10 times greater than Lake Street Dive). Walk Off the Earth is another good one, some decent originals, lots of good covers at around 7M subscribers. All 3 very good though, and under the radar as well.

The fullness of their sound is remarkable!! Tambourine, trumpet, stand up bass and vocals - it's subtle but it is a BIG sound! Each member has MAJOR chops and talent beyond belief....so glad to see that they have been receiving more attention lately.

Go seek out their live version of Henriette from Pickathon - it's a couple years old but it gives you a sense of her ability. She also has a solo album she put out this year - with a very 80's pop vibe to it. It's a fun record!

@@JoeBoone82 It's just a different era for the band. I understand that. I have been in enough bands to know all bands go through changes and growth. I still think the band is great, but different. I am sure they probably went as far as they felt they could in the old configuration and needed a change. I love that they added a full horn section. It's like missing the earlier version of any band, whether you are talking about early Beatles or Van Halen without David Lee Roth. They were great before and great after. You still miss the earlier versions of different bands and enjoy listening to both.

I cannot say enough about their sound and musical abilities, so let me close by saying the lead singer is simply lovely and as talented as you will ever hear. Im in Atlanta so please book a small venue near me and I will be sitting right up front!
This is nearly completely perfect. I listen to it almost every day. The playing is phenomenal especially the bass. The background singing really requires its own mics though. It can sound kind of echoey and hollow throughout this song rather than creating the rich harmonies that I think are intended.
That is the most nuanced tambourine playing I have ever heard. I mean it. Try to do what Mike did without sounding like someone who is playing a tambourine because they can't play anything else. Thanks Mike!!

I smile listing to the wonderful FM programming and viewing i on UA-cam here in Rochester, NY.... I was at WXPN from 1954 thru 1958... We had a couple of studios, a control room, 3 mics and tons of records... Our signal was distributed to all the dorms superimposed on carrier superimposed on the power grid... I was station manager the last couple of years... During that time we managed to stick a 30-foot transmitter on top of the Hospital building with FCC approval for a 10 watt FM transmitter serving the Philadelphia area... Perfect for nerdy non-Rushed tinkerers (which I am to this day)...I did a morning DJ show and managed to stump all out listener(s?) with the following puzzle: What comes next in the series: 15,30,34,4046,52,56,60,66_?_ [it's pretty simple, I never gave the answer.]
