There was a reason Myron Cope referred to the Bengals as the Bungles. I have watched that team snatch defeat from the jaws of victory more times than I can count and my team plays them twice a year. So I'm pretty experienced watching it happen. Two words: Achilles Smith. Say no more. They had Takeo Spikes and Carson Palmer for goodness sakes. That team gave us hell twice a year. What the hell happened?

I super appreciate this video. I hit a major burnout wall in 2018, busting my ass on UA-cam shit that never took off and going back to college after a gap year, but I never realized it until years later, just feeling like I was a super lazy creative and that everything was a waste. I genuinely didn't realize I had hit burnout until COVID hit, and I didn't have to go to campus for classes for a long while. It's been a rough road to come back from, and now being in graduate school has made me sort of feel like that again, and I only came back to graduate school because it simply didn't matter my credentials or experience in my field, I never got a chance, and nothing I did for myself outside of that ever materialized, leaving me again feeling like everything I had worked for and on was again a total waste. I've been thinking a lot about everything, like what I'm going to do, what I'm supposed to be doing, and what even makes me happy anymore. I've so many projects that got pushed to the backburner because I'm inundated with what is mostly busywork and having to force myself to write papers I don't care about because I have to write about specific works, not things that I care about. In one of my classes, a writer the teacher knew came in and talked to us, and that got me thinking again about the story I had started a couple years ago and put on hold, which I want to work on, but procrastination alongside everything else had made it seem insurmountable. I don't know, but either way, this is a super thought-provoking video!
That's a lot but take a breather and try to recap what you learned and things you can extract everything is not a failure sometimes you got to rework things a bit a you'll find it...just my thoughts
We have to get you back on the road to writing that story. The world needs it! I know that busy work and the daily hustle and bustle of life can drain our energy and derail our creative pursuits. We need to figure out how to take steps towards reconnecting you to your creative side and slowly transitioning those endeavors to at least part-time income so that they become an active part of your life. You’re not going to be fulfilled until that happens. But just mapping out and starting the process alone is usually all it takes to get back into the Hunger Stage. Once you do that, you’ll feel like your real self again. At that point, puzzle pieces start to connect, and you realize that things you’d previously given up on are actually possible.

hey bro sorry to hear that. A similar thing happened to me. Here some things I learned that maybe will help you. At the end of the day I made the choice to be with her and I looked past some red flags. What happened to you isn't a you thing it is her issues no matter what you would have done the same thing probably would have happened. The two biggest things will be forgiving yourself and just letting her and all the stuff she did go. Once I did that things got a lot better. Don't search for closure or answers to the questions. Just let it go. Cut all communication and contact with her it makes things a lot easier because if not she will continue to try and manipulate you and cause you pain. It is going to be rough man but depending how you deal with it all you can get out the dark a lot quicker. Just remember to keep pushing and don't let her win. Get back to being a valuable man and make her regret losing you. Just try to see the positives and keep pushing forward, you got this brother

This is very true about many teams. As a Cowboy fan I hear a bunch of BS from jerry all he cares about is not being the worst and being the talk of the town. He never makes the high risk high reward move , then talks about how he is the biggest risk taker out there. He prefers being in headlines then being in meaningful games.

I am also hoping that Mike Brown will recognize his failure to make us a complete team and make the necessary changes for us not just to make it to a super bowl but possibly to win one for his dad Cincinnati the players that work so hard and also was fans who have endured years of "almost".

*PREACH!* Along with meditation and affirmations, I had to change my mindset to thinking like an employer instead of an employee. We also have to understand that we can’t take everyone with us. When you start living and doing the things that rich people do, your reality has to align and adjust. Also remember, you are the average of the 5 people that you hang around the most…… *(keep your circle small)*
As a new Bengal fan I came here to find out why Mike Brown and Duke Tobin are not making big moves leaving with so much valuable information. Thank you ❤️ I needed this fr
Spot on observation and great delivery. I fell in love during the 1988 Super Bowl run and have suffered decades of cheap Mike and his lack of self-awareness. He’s a loser in business and disgrace to his father. If he understood cash flow and allowed in outside capital, they’d have two Lombardi’s. The Bengals have a WACC problem and that lack of access to cheap cash has them money balling tier two free agents (Rankins, Stone, Moss) and pissing off Chase to defer escrow. NFL must force outside investment into the team and that’s going to happen with the recent vote on PE ownership (bengals were the only no vote). Alternatively, we play the cheap Mike waiting game (feed him that salty mock turtle soup) and hope they let the grandkids and Joe cook. It sucks but good to know there are others out there.
As for on the field, they should bench CTB for Newton a couple games to clear his head, kick Ossai inside next to Murphy on passing downs, play three linebacker sets to increase physicality and tackling. On offense, Play Lee at center, move Karras to RG and keep feeding Burton. This shakes things up and allows you to see what you have next year. I do think they nailed the draft this year and could make one more attempt next season before the window slams shut. Simple rule, you miss a tackle, you’re benched. You get Joe sacked, go get a personal foul or get benched.
You keep reaching heights I never expected... I'm speechless man, your drive in life is so inspiring. I know I've never really financially supported much during all these years, but i genuinely want to get the book when it drops.
You got to have very good ownership if you want to win a championship. Between the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals, both are family operations dad don't like to pay players in order to win.
Man, this video really resonated with me even though I'm sure our circumstances are very different. I worked very hard in school with the clear goal of working in my field of study (engineering) and making a good living. I achieved both of those goals right after college, and I started my career as an engineer. Better yet, I really enjoyed the work I was doing as well, but then I came across a certain question that completely stumped me: Where do I see myself in 5 years. The only response I could muster was, "I don't know, but I would be satisfied if I was in the same position 5 years from now." Then this past year happened, where I felt something was off about the way I was living my life. At work I was designated to one of our most critical projects, but that project was so massive and had been dragging out for so long that it was pretty much all I worked on and I strangely felt as if I wasn't as productive as the year before. Everything else in my life stayed pretty much exactly the same, which caused me to feel as if I was stuck in a year-long rut. You summarized my issue perfectly in this video: "I failed to define new goals for myself..where I am desperately and fearfully trying to hold on to what I've attained as opposed to aggressively and fearlessly striving to new heights". It's possible that this was amplified by the state of many industries over the past couple years, where nothing seemed be reported except for the next round of layoffs so I essentially worked and lived my life in prevent defense - trying not to lose. Thanks, the messages you deliver in many of your videos are well articulated and introspective, so it makes sense that your true passion is writing.
It’s funny I (being in my mid 30s) was talking to a younger coworker, new to the workforce today. He talked about how if won the lottery, he would do this and that. And I told him you need to win a lottery to do any of that. And that realistically if you want to do those things you can do without it, because it’s within your capabilities. And that the only thing the lottery would do would be to give a false sense of building success, and for that reason it can only fail. I’ll keep the analogy you used in mind, real useful. But ultimately you can’t win maintaining success in something you didn’t actually work to both learn and then maintain. It’s the same reason that every one who wins the lottery thinks they are being smart by “investing”. You do not to invest though. Or they try to start a business, but they don’t anything about that business. Successful people, in anything you do, first have to learn the most basic of basic. Then you slowly learn over time how to do whatever it is your doing. You can’t just skip steps, success is not possible that way.
flem you talkin to me brotha, long time sub, happy to see you evolve and change. I'm about to turn 30 and I feel the pressure, creating my own playbook has put me on a better path. thank you.

Wow flem, you have no idea how much I needed this. Mind has been kinda fuzzy with my future goals. This really was eye opening. That being said definitely going to use this as my wake up and change my current life trajectory for the better.
Appreciate the video and the deeper thinking. I was surprised how the video pivoted. Not all people are open and try to generate discussion that are positive or just to grow as a human being. Im stuck in a slump right now so the video hit different. Salute
I feel this is very similar to what happened w/ Carson Palmer, they refused to modernize and he left, and I think this might happened to chase or burrow
Finally you address your team Ravens fan here and by the way y’all should’ve won both games the way our defense played Much respect for you and your content been watching sense 2018
I wish you could do a video about Larry Fitzgerald. That is one human with no drama in public. You get to talk Dennis green. Chris Carter. And the quality person he was and continues to be.
Heard I appreciate that flemlo I feel like I have been in that same circle for the last 6 years and I am trying to find myself hungry for something more so stay hungry and focused they say the grind is a struggle but stay with it and I will stay on mine thanks dawg
@ NO! What my point actually would be is that many other franchises (in ALL sports) have had decades of less than mediocrity to deal with as we speak. The only difference is that your Bengals found gold and have not taken full advantage like Buffalo, Houston, Detroit, Tampa Bay, even Washington are showing promise to be contenders for the next decade+. Other franchises like Kansas City, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Green Bay & San Francisco almost never fall below mediocrity for longer than 4 seasons. By the way, you Bengals fans who may not know anything about things before Carson Palmer might not know that between 1991-2002, the Bengals were the WORST run franchise in a 12 year stretch in sports history! Though they might not even be the worst sports franchise in Ohio; the Browns & Blue Jackets are worse than the Bengals are for seemingly longer but never the single worst for 12 straight years.
As an artist and someone who loves football, thank you for this. I’m currently going through what you have went through. I am currently going through a year of “shaking back” from burning out from all that I’ve accomplished from the previous years and not knowing what else is there to do. This gave me the fuel to get back into my hunger mode and set new goals, mostly the ones you’ve set for yourself 🙏🏾.

Really happy to see you purusue your goal of becoming an author. I have the same goal but truly lack the courage and vision to take my next step. It's motivating to see someone else with the same goal take those steps 😀
I have lived in Cincinnati over forty yrs and honestly they're just going off the energy of the city because unlike other cities.. we tolerate it... We still in shock from the 90s "Bungles" days going. 500 felt like the Superbowl to us.. that's why it took Marvin Lewis 7 straight playoff games and 15 yrs to go off him..He had us at least in the conversation.. but Zac Taylor was no better til Joe Burrow fell in his lap.. it's obvious because his record without Burrow is horrendous.. and players like him and Chase means not being in realistic champion contenders/winners is UNACCEPTABLE
You about there flem! Just keep up the good vids. I’m a huge giants fan so I think I can speak for most giants fans we are horrible this year. Love the positivity! Much love!!
Man I been a Cincinnati Bengals fan since 2007 when I was 3 years old. I'm so sick and tired of being in mediocrity, the entire Bengals fanbase is sick and tired of being in mediocrity. We want change in ownership and change in the organization. Mike Brown, cheap ass clearly has never cared about winning at all. This dude has gave us the biggest middle later for over 2 decades now. We're done with this. Zac Taylor has to go, he's not the right head coach for us, Duke Tobin needs to be gone and Mike Brown has to sell the team. I think us Bengals fans really need to boycotting against Duke Tobin and Mike Brown and force them to sell the team. I just turned 20 years old last month. I'm still young. I can't keep going this mediocrity anymore. All the other teams has gotten better. Chiefs got better, Steelers got better, Ravens got better, Buffalo got better, Detroit got better like so many damn teams have got better in the trade deadline while we traded for a damn running back who has a total of 8 carries for 16 damn yards of the season. How's that supposed to help us at all. I been waiting for so long to see my Bengals win a damn Super Bowl, hell it took until 2021 just to see my Bengals win a damn playoff game for the first time ever in my lifetime and I was still in freaking high school in that time. Bro this is so damn frustrating to deal with.
Long time watcher, first time commenter (I think lol). I’ve rewatched a lot of your videos over the years (the Kaepernick episode I especially enjoyed), but this one really resonated with me. While I’m a fan, I don’t think I can provide as colorful a commentary on the overall sport or its players as articulately as some folks like yourself, so I found my niche in sports aesthetics and started building content around that. Finding purpose and drive is important; I only watched this episode a few days ago, but have already used the internal thermometer analogy in several conversations. Anyways, always love learning a new lesson after every video. I always find a lot of value in your content. Would love to buy you a beer if we ever have a chance to catch up in person. Take care man!
Been watching for Awhile now... This video made me subscribe... I know it doesn't seem like much but I only subscribe to maby a half dozen channels.... Thank you
I feel like the Bengals come out of the gates with no sense of urgency, they get into a hole (1-4 or 2-3 record through 5 games) and then try to overcome their early season woes.

Bro, I genuinely appreciate this video. I really needed to hear this, I just recently went through a burnout. Bro, I am wishing you nothing but the best in your new endeavors. I can't wait until that book drops
man flem these type of vids are amazing once you truly understand the message
This channel became the most important one in my life g
That's amazing to hear bro🙏🏾
*PREACH!*
Along with meditation and affirmations, I had to change my mindset to thinking like an employer instead of an employee. We also have to understand that we can’t take everyone with us. When you start living and doing the things that rich people do, your reality has to align and adjust. Also remember, you are the average of the 5 people that you hang around the most…… *(keep your circle small)*
@10:15 you almost there tho, keep pushing bro and queuing the Wayne ✊🏾
That would be amazing bro!
The only response I could muster was, "I don't know, but I would be satisfied if I was in the same position 5 years from now."
Then this past year happened, where I felt something was off about the way I was living my life.
I'm about to turn 30 and I feel the pressure, creating my own playbook has put me on a better path. thank you.
Bro I really was confused about how this went from a bengals video to a life video, but I kept listening and kept listening. Ion know if tires goons be something you keep doing or put on a separate channel but Keep going bro this is needed
Never tracked with a concept more than this. From the jump I caught it and rode out the whole way. Thanks for sharing bro this was a timely video
Wow flem, you have no idea how much I needed this.
Mind has been kinda fuzzy with my future goals.
This really was eye opening.
That being said definitely going to use this as my wake up and change my current life trajectory for the better.
viewer for as long as i can remember man and damn your journey is so inspiring.
Appreciate the video and the deeper thinking. I was surprised how the video pivoted. Not all people are open and try to generate discussion that are positive or just to grow as a human being. Im stuck in a slump right now so the video hit different.
Salute
You were my gateway to video Essayists. I appreciate you more than you know.
Wow! Deep. This episode is so poetic. Good job.
I feel this is very similar to what happened w/ Carson Palmer, they refused to modernize and he left, and I think this might happened to chase or burrow
Yup, and Palmer was vilified for it back then. Now he looks like a prophet
Finally you address your team
Ravens fan here and by the way y’all should’ve won both games the way our defense played
Much respect for you and your content been watching sense 2018
Steelers fan here. Always watch the content
lol cap, we out played cincy in both games. Bad teams, bad franchises find way to lose football games
You should have over a million subs, your videos are always well done.
Loved the video man great advice as always 🙌
I wish you could do a video about Larry Fitzgerald. That is one human with no drama in public. You get to talk Dennis green. Chris Carter. And the quality person he was and continues to be.
Heard I appreciate that flemlo I feel like I have been in that same circle for the last 6 years and I am trying to find myself hungry for something more so stay hungry and focused they say the grind is a struggle but stay with it and I will stay on mine thanks dawg
Some teams like the Jets, Browns, Titans, Jaguars, Raiders, Giants, Bears, Saints & Panthers would dream to have the Bengals scenario right now.
So what? We should be happy with mediocrity because some teams are happy with ineptitude?
Hell yea, FlemLo much needed. Keep growing big dawg. Now que da Wayne!
Thank you bro
As an artist and someone who loves football, thank you for this. I’m currently going through what you have went through. I am currently going through a year of “shaking back” from burning out from all that I’ve accomplished from the previous years and not knowing what else is there to do. This gave me the fuel to get back into my hunger mode and set new goals, mostly the ones you’ve set for yourself 🙏🏾.
You so cold widdit fam! I'm riding with you to the top mane! 💯
Lovin' the enlightment and personal growth, that you're so eloquently passing on to you subscribers. Great new angle on your content.👏🏽💯

I’ve been struggling finding my purpose and being motivated but I have found what I like to do/what I love to do and that’s filmmaking and like you Flim, writing. Thanks for doing what you do bro. It’s helping a lot.
As a Bengals fan as well, this season is super frustrating. I see the potential, and then they drop it later every time.
very honest, as always. good luck on the journey, bro. gonna be real cool to see your growth
Ima save this and play it back when I’m struggling. Thanks flem

Is this the Flemlo motivational speaker arc??!. i like it. jokes aside this is awesome to hear and best of luck on your book and other ventures.
As a 31 year old family outcast great video.
Keep it 💯 and stay to yourself. Sceew everyone else.
Entrepreneurship 101. Great video man... way to speak it all into existence! As a Dolphins fan, I can relate to the decades of Mid!
You about there flem! Just keep up the good vids. I’m a huge giants fan so I think I can speak for most giants fans we are horrible this year. Love the positivity! Much love!!
I’ve been a Seahawks fan since 05 when they went to the SB. So my internal thermometer has always been screwed up. 😂
You ain't gotta a million yet? Homie you the truth, keep doing what you do, Chicago Illinois salutes you 🫡
Solid video. Rooting for you brudda💪🤝
This gold brother ❤...
This video is beautiful. Thanks flem this really helped.
Better lesson learned from this vid than I’ve gotten the last 10 years from school
Great video topic. I love your growth mindset videos that ties in with sports examples
Same here, I was born into the fandom. My dad is a big bengals fan and it rubbed off on me.
@klondor7432 Oh really that's cool
If someone buys the tram they aren't staying in cincy
@wildafrosith690 Well they need to find someone who actually wanna win
Deep stuff bruh. I always enjoy your content.
FlemLo you are an amazing young man. This was a terrific video that is going to help so many people. God bless.
🔥 Flem, love what you’re doing man

You spittin!
Well done man, great stuff
I feel like the Bengals come out of the gates with no sense of urgency, they get into a hole (1-4 or 2-3 record through 5 games) and then try to overcome their early season woes.
