I've experienced this before on my FC. The tank was dirty which clogged the fuel pump and fuel filter. It got past the filter and also clogged the injectors. It was hard to diagnose because the fuel pressure was good when idling. Under load though it would lean out because the fuel pressure would drop under load. My wiring to my larger fuel pump was also suboptimal and wasn't flowing enough power when under load. The wiring to the pump would get super hot. I upgraded the wiring from the front to the back of the car with 10 gauge wire and it made a huge difference. After cleaning out the tank, new pump and filter and cleaned injectors, it ran perfectly. I know you don't want to pull the fuel tank, but if you have a bore scope you can put it in the filler hose and see if it is dirty or rusty in the tank.
I lost my trailing coil driving on the freeway and lost 60% power in my 12a. I swap the coils wires and gained about 90% back. Made it back to college and got a new one in a few days later. Swapping coils and if you intermediate miss fire in your other rotar than a bad coil. Good luck. I do want to do what you have done to my 79 12a. Hoping 320hp in the end. Thanks for being honest and taking us on your journey.
I've had similar issues. Start with the plugs and if it happens with new plugs check the ground from coil plug to housing. Then swap plugs on coils to check coil issue
Maybe start with simple ways, clean the injectors since you got the cleaner and swap around coils and see if you get the same erratic fire. At least that way you can narrow it down to wiring/ecu issue or the actual coil.
If it's missing because its super rich it will show lean on the o2 sensor, I've had this issue and I just kept fouling plugs till I pulled heaps of fuel out of it
I have the same setup you have. A 13b turbo with the ft450. I have the same settings you have and mine starts without touching the throttle and idles without problems. I did adjust the fuel tables a bit. You can contact fuel tech and they can log into your ECU and tell you what is wrong
In my past experience as a 15 year diesel tech and a car enthusiast and owing like 8 rx7’s I would say if nothing has changed and you have not changed anything I would go through entire fuel system, from tank to injectors and pressure regulator. Your first clue to your problem was the clogged screen follow it
I have a similar issue on my 1981 RX7 running a 13B, webber, 2 new coils and leads, new ignition modules, and standard electronic dizzy. The car ran well and then start playing up after a short time like yours. Took it to a few mechanics with no joy. I played around with it and noticed the Lead and Trailing plugs were firing at the same time. Checked everything and everything looked right. I disconnected the trailing plugs and the car start and runs like a dream. I'm not sure if this helps but check I suggest you check if the Trailing plugs are firing with the Lead plugs.
I'd give the injectors a cleaning just to be sure. I had the same sounds when I was diagnosing a lean issue (clogged new fuel pump) when checking the injector harness I put two injectors on the wrong ones. primary was on secondary, secondary on primary on the front rotor which caused it to miss just like in your video. Seeming as your filter was clogged maybe something made its way to a injector? Definitely sounds like a fueling issue to me or the sequence of the injectors is off? My setups is a 13BT with ign1a haltech ps1000 i'm no tuner and just learning as you are so take my advice with a grain of salt. keep up the videos dude you've helped me stay motivated with my car cheers!
I'm experiencing a somewhat similar problem on my 12a I just finished rebuilding. I still have the stock nikki on it and it barely revs. I was barely able to idle it out and back into the garage
Nikki could be clogged up i just rebuit my one that had different issue's.Make sure your getting power to the soileniods did you touch the adjustment of the accelerator pump that could be out.
@@samanags7533 gonna check the pump later today, hope I don't need to rebuild. Do you know of any common coolant leaks in the front area? I'm hoping it's just the WP itself.
@@samanags7533 I was really hoping it's coming from the WP. I'm gonna start tearing things back down here soon. Thank you so much for your help and advice! You're a big help!
I’m experiencing the same problem with my FT450. I’m getting fuel. I ran a spark test and I’m getting no spark. What did you do to figure out the issue RAD?
Now imagine teaching yourself how to tune and not realizing that your poorly welded mild steel intake manifold has pin holes and leaks more air as it warms up therfore, changing your vacuum parameters. That was my experience when I 1st starting tuning my own NA setup.

Yep. If the filter clogged that fast, there's a good chance the injectors got full of junk as well.

+1 Unburnt fuel will cause O2 sensor to read lean. O2 sensor only reads combustion gasses.

Maybe the ignition module is the problem?

I would be looking at water pump for that leak, check your fuel filter is not blocked and the fuel bowls are atthe right level.

Good luck mate hope its a easy fix could just be a blocked fuel filter.
Is this the carburettor one
see if you can lock your dwell to 3.0ms out of boost, if you set them too high it will fire when you dont want them to.
OBS studio should let you screen record. Might flog the cpu a bit too hard though depending on the specs idk

I'd try and swap out some ignition coils
Same problem I have with a ft550 and it's the TPS
Check injectors first if not so is coils
In theory, could you borrow an ignition coil from the RX8 to test the coil component? My RX8 coils powered a 13B REW, not sure about a FC Turbo 13B…
You'll get it, something stupid probably. Friggen looks good tho!!
It's your leads my S5 turbo did this and all I did was swap the leads out
I have no idea but at least I now know how I went bald😊
Choking?
Any way to be able to talk 1 on 1. I have a 40th anniversary rx8.
Check your timeng
yeap I belive something its dirty the tank inj fuel filter

Yea that would be a learning experience for sure. I rarely smoke test NA stuff, but I bet that would have revealed that issue.
@@RADPotential Actually a good old can of brake clean did that with the engine in vacuum.
Coils dwelled out
Clogged injector baskets.
